The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Sounds like you had a great time during that trip!! I loved the pics of the festival center, I am really excited to get to see the old Wonders of Life pavillion for the first time ever in a little over two weeks!

Czech beer!!! And even spelld correctly. Not the best, but quite a decent one....

All caught up! I hope you saved enough desserts from the Wishes party for the rest of the class. :rotfl2: Looks like it was a great view.

You and Maroo are racking up impressive scores on both Buzz and TSM. I'm gonna have to learn your secrets. I agree that the pull-string makes TSM tough.

Thanks for the 1982 bathroom tour! :lmao: The chef on the F&W t-shirts--is it just me, or does he look like the Swedish chef from the Muppets?

Pat:

I am getting caught up! I have been so far behind.

Wow, the treehouse looks nice. I want to stay in one some day.

How great you got to go the dessert party! Those desserts look great. Will definitely have to book one for all three of us at Spring Break!

La Nouba!!! I wish they had great prices when we were there----some day! I so want to see this. Glad you enjoyed it.

Can't wait to read more.

I do miss what used to be in there but hopefully something new will come soon. I am so close myself I can hardly stand it. :goodvibes

I am upset that we will miss each other though. :sad2:

They just kept bringing more out. It was a good time. :thumbsup2

Glenn has some tips and of course if you google it, there is a video somewhere. Some games you need to work with your partner and some go just pull as fast as you can but there are some easter eggs.

It was like going back in time when I went in that bathroom. You don't realize how bathrooms have changed until those things are missing.

For your viewing pleasure I present the Swedish Chef

I have been a posting madwoman trying to wrap this up.

The treehouse is on my list.
The dessert party gives you a great view of the castle as well as all the yummy treats.
Keep looking for LaNouba deals, the show was great!

Mon Oct 4th – the day that would never end.

You see I had to fly to San Antonio early Tuesday Morning. Really Early. So ME was picking me up even earlier. Like 3:45AM early.
I know I panic with an early flight and would not be able to sleep anyway I just thought I would stay up.

Stick around and see how that went.

My morning started ordinary enough by being up and making it to EPCOT by rope drop. You didn’t think I would sleep in would you?!?!?!?
I had been texting with Ty’s Nonnie and she was hoping to be at RD too.
I got to the turnstiles early.

IMG_0202.jpg

In fact, I was first at my turnstile. Rhonda found me and said hi. We were going to try to catch each other at Soarin but she was going to sit out with Ty.

Got to see the opening show

Off for the Soarin' Stroll. Get the FP and then rode stand by.

IMG_0246.jpg

Trying to get that HM but I missed it by that much.

IMG_0249.jpg

I came down the ramp and there is Rhonda waiting with Ty.
We had some more time to talk and of course we got evidence.

IMG_0250.jpg

I must have ducked into Mousegears to shop a bit.

These are now in my drawer.

IMG_0265.jpg

IMG_0269.jpg

Strange(R) encounter
After my shopping spree I went to TT using the single rider line ( of course ). Right before the briefing room I am told to wait. A guy comes up and asks me if I told to wait there. I told him yes since the CM was tending to the standby line. We all get herded into the briefing room and I start chatting with a guy next to me ( who is surprised?)

IMG_0281.jpg

As we get placed in cars we are separated ( of course) but he yells out “ Wait for me” after such lame lines like “ You’re leaving already? “ We just met” etc.

So I figure I have a decision to make - run like a mad woman after the ride and continue to be a solo traveler or wait and maybe have an adventure.

I waited. So I formally met Joel. His story – because I am totally not sure if it true, was that he was visiting an aunt and doing the theme parks for the first time. He had done his research because he wasn’t clueless but sometimes knew more that I think he should, hence the “story” He was nice enough.

I basically played tour guide and he let me.

Does this guy turn out to be an axe murderer???

Wow - Maroo pretty much kicks butt at TSM!!!! Impressive.

Another fun day - Oct 3rd - you are two busy girls. I love the dole whip soft serve at Captain Cooks. Yum!

Ok - so does Joel turn out to be an axe murderer??? :rotfl:

And you really stayed up all night before your flight? Yikes! I did that once before a flight (not intentionally, mind you) and it turned out about as bad as it could have. So I'm curious to see how you all night adventure turns out.

We call it the Soarin' Stampede.

Thanks for the pictures. I 'heart' that ride. ;)

It's great that you and Rhonda got to meet! :woohoo:

No axe murderers allowed in Disney World, so I hope you are still alive and well. And I think maybe you are.

YES she does . :lmao:

ALong with the Mai tai I try to get one of these every trip. :thumbsup2

Ok - so does Joel turn out to be an axe murderer??? :rotfl:

Let's just say I live to tell the tale.

I will say my experience was at least better than yours. :lmao:

Hopefully later tonight or in the AM for the next installment my dear. Of to go take two young adults to see Lion King 3D.:3dglasses

We call it the Soarin' Stampede.

I find this more of a stroll compared to the Toy story Dash.

Thanks for the pictures. I 'heart' that ride. ;)

I thought of you while trying to snap away.

It's great that you and Rhonda got to meet! :woohoo:
It was nice but too short. Ty was trying to escape and over by Soarin', it was just too crowded to let him go. I got to see Rhonda's best wrestlting moves as she tried to contain him. :lmao:

No axe murderers allowed in Disney World, so I hope you are still alive and well. And I think maybe you are.

I did live to tell the tale. ;)

I left with Axe murderer Joel and I around TT.

We hit M:S orange. There was a story about him being an engineer and a pilot so I figured he could spin.

IMG_0287.jpg

We cruised through Innoventions for some Jim.

IMG_0288.jpg

He wasn’t up on the appeal of Jim but like the show.
Nemo

IMG_0291.jpg

We walked around the aquarium and looked for HM.

Took a spin in SE. Here we are relaxing on the beach.

IMG_0298.jpg

We stopped for a bite to eat in Mexico

IMG_0303.jpg

IMG_0304.jpg

Taking pictures of the food spurred on the conversation about imaginary friends and such. Somewhere around that time I bumped into someone wearing a podcast lanyard from some podcast- I really can’t remember which one and she agreed about either hidden Mickeys or something and Joel knew he was outnumbered. She seemed genuinely surprised that he bumped into another Disney freak but interested at the same time.

We rode the Maelstrom and he made a comment about the oil platform and something technical about the structure.

IMG_0305.jpg

We took in the China movie. Seemed like he had been there too. Hmmmm see what I mean about a story? Either he was well travelled ( he could have been ) or he was pulling my leg. Either way I didn’t care.

IMG_0306.jpg

A stroll in the new place.

IMG_0307.jpg

Joel bought some carmel corn. I was still full from lunch. But I did manage to try a piece. YUM

Anyone remember me remarking about a HM in Germany that I was told about during the Segway tour??

IMG_0310.jpg

Close up

IMG_0311.jpg

We stopped and admired the trains for a bit. I told him they decorate the town for Food and Wine too.

IMG_0314.jpg

It was now that I had arranged to meet Chichi ( dancinprincess) at the Boardwalk. She couldn’t come in and it was a perfect way to, how shall we say , get away from Joel. He was nice but he walked kinda slow and half way around the world was good enough for me.

I bid him adieu and walked out the back to meet ChiChi.

Another blast from the past. Remember when we could not find a bathroom while at the CP on the NYE eve trip and ended up in the restaurant in Morocco?

IMG_0318.jpg

A huge bathroom – Yup I have even used it before :headache:
Out the IG and there is a boat waiting-

IMG_0320.jpg

Me and ChiChi

IMG_0327.jpg

We walked , we chatted, we saw this

IMG_0324.jpg

They ran a while. We saw them come around, and around, and around.

IMG_0323.jpg

By the Yacht Club

IMG_0325.jpg

IMG_0326.jpg

After we made it around, we sat in the shade where we started. We must have talked for 2 hours. It was getting late and ChiChi had to go. Before she left we encountered these ladies.

IMG_0330.jpg

It was Food and Wine. These ladies had just come off the boat and almost ended up in the bushes. And they laughed about it. HARD. They were so giggly and happy it was funny. Clearly they enjoyed themselves at Food and Wine.

I had my mug so I stopped in for a refill.

IMG_0331.jpg

That is to remind me that on the Boardwalk they will not refill your mug but rather give you a drink cup and all when you present your mug.
A must have shot.

IMG_0333.jpg

Next Up - Back to EPCOT and it's a small world.

Took the now young adults to see Lion King 3D.

Funny my oldest DD did not remember wearing it out when she was younger and I think Chris was too young to even remember it at all.

They enjoyed it and all of us had not seen the whole movie for some time so I was enjoying the "newness" of it.

One thing I did notice was the compare/contrast to FOLK. How did you know I was going there? :rolleyes1

Big difference? No tumble monkeys in the movie!!! :lmao::lmao:

I even thought the song "Be Prepared" is better in FOLK. The vocals in LK are a bit weak.

I slowly made my way back to EPCOT. I see a PP at the bridge to the IG.

IMG_0337.jpg

IMG_0340.jpg

IMG_0343.jpg

This is where I encounter Bob (CM formally known as Ron :)) . Bob is the CM in Belgium. I get some waffles and an Iced Coffee which has some Liqueur in it. He ID’s me!!! Now I am well over 21, and was caught off guard. I asked him to repeat himself. He starts to go into the standard explanation of how he has to proof anyone looking under 30 … Really?!?!? I am laughing hysterically at this point and tell him he just made my day!!! He comments that he needs to ask for ID more often if he gets that reaction.
Here is Bob ( The CM formally known as Ron :lmao:)

IMG_0352.jpg

And the goods.

IMG_0353.jpg

I proceed and there is a suspicious package in Morocco

IMG_0356.jpg

IMG_0357.jpg

A nosy CM
IMG_0358.jpg

IMG_0360.jpg

Everyone is getting into Food and Wine but he Id’s ME?!?!?

IMG_0361.jpg

I see this on a scooter.

IMG_0383.jpg

As I pass the Eat to the Beat concert I notice this young lady dancing away.

IMG_0388.jpg

Drink #2 – no Id needed- women were working the kiosk ;)

IMG_0397.jpg

I see this shirt

IMG_0413.jpg

Going by Mexico

IMG_0419.jpg

I was amazed how far back the themeing goes.

IMG_0416.jpg

Continued.

I feel like I take a picture of this every time I go by.

IMG_0423.jpg

It was getting late. I was going to back to the room and then head out again but who do I see as I pass the Port of Entry?

Joel, my buddy from this morning. We chat and we walk. I explain that I have a flight out real early and need to pack so I give him my Soarin’ FP that I still have and I say goodbye to Joel. It was about 7:30pm.

I detour over here

IMG_0436.jpg

IMG_0438.jpg

Do you think it just runs all night long? It certainly counts down all night long.

Parting shot of EPCOT

IMG_0440.jpg

Right about here I realize I do not want to make the long walk to the POP bus stop. So I head up the ramp to the monorail.

I get on the tronorail. Original color – monorail coral.

IMG_0441.jpg

With the low light it almost looked pink.
While at the TTC

IMG_0450.jpg

Monorail to Poly – I just noticed – No Not so scary but this was 2010- I am hoping there was not enough room for it.
