Survivor 49 - Watching? Thoughts?

Have they said how long he will speak and if there will be any discussion/debate afterwards? Basically, how long will the pause be?

Supposedly 22 minutes, but he is never on time. I don't think there will be discussion (or much) afterwards due to advertisers paying for air time during the finale. We ended up extending the recording by 60 minutes just in case.

Good wrap up. Preview for S50, and Probst announced they would show pivotal episodes for the returning players to refresh people's memories leading up to the new season. My husband can't remember everyone so he is happy about that.

The president actually stuck to the timeline and Survivor only went over by about 22 minutes. Not happy about who won, but it is what it is. For me this was one of the worst season's I've seen.

I wasn’t a fan of the winner, but they did deserve it. Really looking forward to Survivor 50, with returning players. And I love that they are going to show old episodes featuring the returning players. I can hardly believe Survivor has been on for 25 years. Many marriages don’t even last that long. I wonder how many more years it will last.

Watched the first hour ................. yeah let's vote off the one person who could help us get off the two strongest players.

THEN I went to bed as I didn't know how long the wait would be. SO ... I have no idea what happened and will have to avoid all info until I watch the rest. At this point I firmly don't like anyone and could care less who won.

Just watched. Soph immunity win was quite impressive. Of course Savannah won, was obvious if she made it to the end no one had a chance. Oh well, not their best season. On to the next.

She was deserving of a win.

Was getting tired of Sage playing the professional victim.

Nice to have 3 women there. I didn't really care for any of them strong enough but surprised myself by feeling Sage was the least annoying to me, she was not going to win based on how she turned on the people who ended up at the jury and she didn't make the right calls either.

The other two Savannah and Sophi are just entirely too annoying and weren't really all that worthy IMO (not that I think Sage was worthy either).

Also I really wish they would stop with saying everything and anything is Imposter Syndrome. That is a real diagnosis. But they all seem to be using it as like a catch-all and it ends up feeling like they are downplaying it.

This season at the end of it feels very inauthentic as in the people end up feeling inauthentic and I think that has a lot of why it fell flat to me and I didn't really like anyone. Crafting a persona is fine and can be necessary but everyone seemed to be so superficial inauthentic despite the tears shed.

I did appreciate them giving the update about Jake there so it wasn't just brushed aside during the season that he left.

Mr. Beast popping up on Season 50 is intriguing. I am excited to see how the players adapt to the ways of Survivor that is now especially with Rizzo and Savannah rejoining so quickly after their season ended, will that be an advantage or not.

I wish the Season 50 players had been able to see Season 49 so they would know to immediately vote these two out. Not only will Rizo and Savannah start S50 with a strong alliance, but the other players also won't have had the advantage of seeing their gameplay.
