The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Yeah, if you're going to cut in line, do it for a ride that's worth it. Like Soarin'. You should have followed her around the rest of the day and butted in front of her in every line. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2::rotfl2: I should have done that!!! Next time :rolleyes1

I just saw a Donald t-shirt in the Disney store the other day that showed him realizing he never wore pants. :rotfl:

I looked it up and sent the link to my friend. I may just have to get that shirt for her. :lmao:

Afte emo with the lady cutting in line and some monorail hunting I see this guy on the planter/bench

Looking back at the entrance so I can capture the signs. You never know when I need to look them up for some contest. ;)

Back to monorail hunting.

Ahhh got that one already. Now for my next never done. A free PP VISA reward pic.
I head over to Innoventions and wait in the pretty short line for the VISA line to open up.
I have about 15 minutes to wait so I look around.

Finally my turn

IMG_6922.jpg

Hey they are free.
Hungry but I had a plan. Another never done. But I had to get out of EPCOT. I make my way out of the park and over to the busses. I have to transfer at a resort to get to where I am going so I try to pick a resort that is at least in the direction I want to go.
Let’s try here.

Which was this number

IMG_6924.jpg

I wait. But I see this.

IMG_6926.jpg

Going here.

IMG_6925.jpg

Close enough right????

Arriving for the bus tour of Old Key West.

I get off at some random bus stop and feel a bit lost as to where I am but a bus for my destination arrives and I board. Did not have a chance to walk around but I will have to return someday.
Looks like rain was coming, so maybe I did not want to take the chance of getting stuck in a downpour.
Cont. in next post.

I arrive at my destination

Was I headed here?

IMG_6937.jpg

Well I peeked in but I was hungry remember?

A Memom and Jill favorite.

A great sandwich, I will be eating here again.
Looking for dessert.

I ended up with some create your own. While I waited for my creations I spotted these.

IMG_6943.jpg

No pictures of my creations here since they got “sealed in the box”. Hopefully I took a picture later when I opened them up.

It was hot, humid and sticky. Rain was probably coming so I headed back to POP.
I walked over to the lake to take pictures of progress in July 2010.
You can tell how hazy it was.

IMG_6945.jpg

Sure doesn’t look like much was going on. What will they do with these giant numbers?

IMG_6946.jpg

Walking back

IMG_6950.jpg

The jungle book building was undergoing refurb.

New mattresses

IMG_6956.jpg

At that point there was no thunder and lightning and no rain. I figured I would try to get some pool time in. I changed and found a chair. Can’t even remember if I actually got in or not but I was so hot that I probably at least got in, got wet and then went to go sit a bit and cool off.
Facing the pool, like I always do suddenly out of the corner I see a huge flash. Right over the jungle book building. It was huge. Followed by the boom. The guy next to me goes WHOA and I gather my stuff because I know what is coming. The guards just sit and look at each other. They all saw it but who is going to call it? I have no idea how they do it, but I go on visual alone because I do not have a lightning detection system and well once I can see it THAT close I do not need a lightning detection system. Finally after what seems like an eternity they blow the whistle and by then I am halfway to my room.
I put on the weather channel and see how big the storm is and how long it will take to pass.
It never did rain. I showered and just rested until it cooled off a bit. Probably took a nap too.

By now you know I headed back out but where did I go?

I've always intended to take advantage of that Visa picture opportunity, but never have. I think I figured out why -- it's only in the afternoon. We always do Future World in the morning and then World Showcase when it opens up later. So I'm always at the wrong side of the park when it's open.

Earl of Sandwich was a good choice! Love that place.

Goofy's Candy Co. is still a "never done" for me.

You are so right. You either have to go a bit early and waiting line for 15 minutes or so OR wait a bit and try to catch it towards the end of the session. The line empties out maybe around 3. The problem for me was making sure I picked up the picture THAT day. It is not ready immediately and you need to remember to go out the front to go by the photo place to pick it up.

A bit of effort and not always worth it but if you can work it out it is a nice perk for the Disney VISA card.

It was good- I will be back ( in my best Arnold voice)

Goofy's Candy Co. is still a "never done" for me.

Just looking at all that sugar made me hyper. I don't think I ever took a picture of it but I did get a rice krispie dipped in chocolate with sprinkles. Took me 3 days to eat it. :lmao:

they train there lizards so well.

and how come you didnt take the boat to DTD, it is a nice ride, or have you done it before.

Lizards.....I hate those things and they are everywhere at Disney!

I still did not make it to Earl of Sandwich. Boy, it looks good!

HI Pat, I don't know if I'll ever get myself dug out out of the hole I've gotten into on the DIS, but here I am to try.

I can tell you, I LOVE looking for those little lizards too; they're just so stinkin' cute!

Earl was one of the first places I tried at Disney, and I sitll love it! It's so yummy!! The line can get long in there, but it's worth it!

I guess I'm still sad about the Legendary Years being scrapped. Don't they have enough self-promotion going on every where you turn?

Pat, thank you, thank you, thank you! You reminded me that I needed to put the Visa Photopass picture on my list of things to do this trip (we always forget). Do we need to do anything special beforehand? Or just have our Disney Visa with us?

I think Old Key West is one of the few resorts we have not toured. I wish you had gone on a tour so you could have posted pictures. :lmao::lmao:

Your sandwich from Earl looks really good. We can't wait to finally try it in two months.

they train there lizards so well.
My DD used to have many as pets. Now she has an iguana. :scared1::scared1: I am happy to say she deals with it all on her own.

and how come you didnt take the boat to DTD, it is a nice ride, or have you done it before.

I have done the ride to DTD from POFQ and POR but I think on this day I got off the stop after HH and the DTD bus was right there and if you rememeber it looked like rain and my experience finiding the boat dock at POR was less than easy. :lmao:

I applaud the effort. I am struggling at times too.
:guilty:

Having them as pets coutesy of DD I grew to accept them(and feed them )

It was a yummy sandwich and look forwad to more.

I am not really sure how they were going to really promote those years. I think they fell back on what they know is popular, the movies and the animation. I really hope they have some animation history in the lobby.

I believe they open it at 1:30 but check to be sure. It is in Innoventions right beside the Segway demonstration. You just show your Disney Visa card and go in fo the photoshoot. You get a free 5 X 7 that you can get a border on at the photo store in EPCOT about an hour after you take the picture. You have to pick up the picture that day and you don't want to wait until park closing because it get a bit insane in there so you have to plan a bit but it is pretty easy.

I think Old Key West is one of the few resorts we have not toured. I wish you had gone on a tour so you could have posted pictures. :lmao::lmao:

I did want to walk around a bit but the Old Key West Gods were not having it that day. Someday I will, someday.

gotcha.

i forgot to ask, what was on that earl sandwhich, you never told us the kind.

She does a good job of keeping everything clean. She is sensitive to smells and things so she would suffer if she did not keep it clean. If it ever became a problem I would make her find a new home for it. :)

Oops
It was
The Original 1762 - fresh roasted beef, cheddar and creamy horseradish sauce

I had them hold the horseradish sauce.
