The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Those are some unusual allergies. Sorry you had a reaction to your salad, but good tip on the first aid station. Glad you were not affected to bad and were able to keep going. :)

Welcome to my life! :lmao:the fact that I never knew I had so many allergies is proof that they are minor relatively speaking. It sure does explain a lot alot about why I feel they way I do sometimes. Mostly I just get tired and feel sluggish. The thing is mine are cumulative so one or two thing I am OK, the more I have the more likely I will have a reaction.

Wow, those are some horrible allergies! Glad the side effect is mild.

I have never been to first aid in any of the parks. Funny thing about the red item in front of each one.

There are 15 lovely items that I have tested positive for.
Celery, tomatoes, green beans, peas, carrots
Sesame, dill, mustard and garlic
Peanuts, walnuts, pecans, almonds
Soy, cantaloupe

I am especially sorry about all the ones marked in red. I enjoy all of those foods. You sure need to be careful, though. I am allergic to Novacaine - I swell up and look like a monster. It's bad. I am very careful to list that any time I go to a doctor, because I never want to look like that again!

Pat, if you don't mind, I'm going to use your list and tell DH that I have allergies to those things and that is why I don't eat them! I don't like any of them and this will give me an excuse so he stops bugging me.

I'm sorry your lip swelled, but glad you got some answers.

Your waiter looked so focused as he was walking to your table. ;)

I attempted a few more bites but I was full and my mouth so satisfied it tingled. Oh wait, that’s more than a tingle. :scared1:
Uh Oh.

D'oh!

I had mentioned some time back that I was either told or read that every First Aid station had red in front of it. AK has red ladybugs, EPCOT had red flowers, MK has red umbrellas and DHs has a barber pole.

Where you say? In the truck of course.

Uh...sure...whatever you say...

Don’t pay those high resort prices, just go to first aid.

Great tip! :thumbsup2

I can and do eat most of these items ( When I was younger I would say i am allergic to vegetables and I was right! How many kids can say that? Too bad I had no proof)

I so wish I could have used that excuse when I was a kid! :rotfl2:

Well my lip is indeed swelling. No bueno.

Mind if I use this as my desktop wallpaper? J/K. ;)

What a way to find out that you had more allergies than you were aware of. I'm glad the reaction wasn't any worse.

My oldest is allergic to peas. Trouble is, she likes them.

I like most of them too. Now that I know I just have to watch when I eat them and not eat too many at once. They mostly make me feel yucky for a while but sometimes like at the Brown Derby I get a surprise.

OOOhhh Novacaine- ouch. You probably need to watch out for the other "caines" Lidocaine etc.

I will back you up on those allergies. ;) My mom used to serve mixed veggies, I think it was corn, beans, peas and maybe some other things. I hated it and would not eat it. She still does not beleive I have so many allergies but I have proof.

Pizza , ketchup, garlic bread, even the darn sesame seeds, you can't escape it all. Did you know soy something is in everything??!?!!?!?!?

I can usually catch a reaction early and if I can pop a Benadryl I can usually stop it.

I have always been a picky eater and the few times I have been adventurous I have gotten a surprise. It happened in Houston at another conference too. They had Hors d'œuvres and after taking some off the trays I began to swell. Benadryl helped that night. When I got home I called the hotel to get the chef to get the ingredients but he still had an item that came prepackaged so I could not pin down what caused the reaction. :confused3

Could have been the food or since the reception was held downstairs and a hurricane flooded the area the year before, it could have been mold.

I figure I need something inside and cool but easy to get out of in case I have to.

This fits this bill

First think I do when I get inside is look for the key

I have quite a bit of time in the Preshow so I find the funny.

After the show, I wander the dump shop.

I encounter some very bossy signs.

With my funny bone satisfied and my lip not getting any worse where should I head?

Oh my goodness, that is an unusual list!

Will they get worse with additional exposure? I only ask as I have a drug allergy that caused hives. I mentioned it to a pharmacist once to make sure I hadn't been given it and joked that it wasn't a big deal, only hives.

His response was well yeah, but next time it could kill you.

And given the giant arm bands highlighting the allergy the few times I've been in the hospital since then, I admit, I take it seriously!

Glad you got your Muppet on afterwards to cool down.

They do warn me it could get worse but I figure I have been eating most of those items regularly all my life and nothing has gotten much worse on a consistent basis. It is the combinations, I think my allergies are cumulative of sorts those combined with environmental allergies all add to the mix.

Hospitals want to make sure you are carrying a big sign if you are allergic. Too much liability there. Also too many people in and out and they know they make mistakes ( humans) so they go out of their way to "tag" you.

Muppets is just what I needed to cool off and take a break.

Great spot to go after your lip swelled up. LOVE LOVE LOVE the Muppets. I don't think I've ever noticed the "Don't Look Here" signs. :confused3

Exactly what doctors have told me. There is a whole family of 'caines' I am not supposed to have. Unless I want a really wicked looking Halloween mask, that is. ;)

We have not done this since Brooklynn has been old enough to remember it. We should let her do it again this summer, if I can remember.

I could sit, relax and laugh. I could also get out if I had to. I passed on the Great movie ride because of the escape factor.

The signs were in the dump shop.

I am sure it was written all over you and your chart when you had your knee surgery.

::yes::

Well, I haven't been completely intentionally ignoring you, Pat!!! Just takes FOREVER to get through all the threads when you've been "gone" as long as I have. Still only about 1/2 way done, and haven't even touched the PTR side yet.

So, you didn't do the apricot sour!!?? :scared1: Shocked I am. Yet, after that litany of foods you listed out, maybe that wouldn't have been the best choice anyway. I don't know if I could live without tomatoes, or half the other stuff there.

WAY too much salad! Told ya. I sent about hte same amount back too. Such a waste. But the "mixing" is a pretty cool show, I think. My waiter was pretty bummed I didn't get dessert either... must be a jonesin' for a better tip thing? :confused3:lmao:

Muppets. Meh.

I am running around catching up too. Today was clean the garage day and I succeeded of making a big mess. But now that the mess is made the clean up can begin.

Tomatoes are in so many thing I eat- so i just watch it. The allergist wanted to know what I was going to do about the tomatoes and I told him " Just take a Benadryl" He told me it might be Ok if they were cooked versus raw but I do fine that certain pizza sauces cause more problems that others.

I guess they figure the two go together since they are unique signature items. :confused3

Muppets. Meh.

I love the muppets but I hope this show does get some sort of update soon. Just to freshen it up a bit.

Just to kill a post... ;)

Right after I posted how good I felt - IT happened. the worst run I have have ever had.

Slow suggish and feeling like I am running with cement shoes. After some rest and some thinking, I believe I have it figured out. A bit of dehydration due to the extreme heat we have had lately and not giving enough time to rehydrate coupled with grass allergies which I figured out make me tired.

Benadryl and lots of water, salty items ( cravings of salty popcorn) did the trick. The last run was much better.

I just hope the extreme heat subsides by Oct in Florida. As it is now I get up to run between 7 and 8 am, sometimes earlier to beat the heat.
