The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Wow, what an amount of tour groups!! :scared1: I had a similar day one year at DHS and then one day when AK was overrun by cheerleaders. I took an early lunch break as well and then headed to a different park for the afternoon, which turned out to be tour group free. :confused3 I hope the same will happen to you as well! :goodvibes

It looked like there were a bunch of black shirts in line in one of those pictures too.

If the past is any indication of the future, there is no way you stayed at the hotel for very long!

I see green people

At first I was thinking "the crowds don't look too bad. what's she talking about??!!". THEN I saw THEM!!!

Good call on leaving and going for some cheesecake. No way did you stay for long!!

10:30 a.m.?
I am going to go with 'no'.
Maybe for a little while, but not for long.

Remember, I was trying to do a relaxing trip :rolleyes1 but then again, you know i can't sit still for very long.

You...stay.....NO!
Oh my on the rainbow people. I don't think I would have stayed that long:sad2:

They were not really that loud or overly obnoxious but the sheer volume made me rethink being at AK. Not really worth it to stay.

BTW How is the running going?

Running is going pretty good. The taping I am doing is working pretty good most of the time. The humidity this week is making the tape peel up a bit but I think i need to let it "set" longer before going out.

I am running at least 3-4 minutes at a clip- most times longer and walking no more that 1 minute at any time. We have some really steep hills so I hate to say but my walking is usually up the last part of those hills. :rolleyes1 My 5k time is anywhere from low 40's 42 or 43 to 46. It just really depends.

I get 4 miles in every other or every 2 days. I am trying to get a shorter run now in between to encourage a faster muscle recovery and increase my endurance but the knees are not liking that.

I am starting to look forward to the run, not enjoying while I am actual running but I do like being done with it for the day and feeling pretty good about having accomplished it. :goodvibes

:scared1::scared1::scared1: that is an awful amount of people in different colored shirts. And although I've never had the tie-dyed cheesecake (I don't eat cheesecake), I would have been leaving too!

Just watching all the colors going by made me realize how many were there!!!:scared1::scared1::scared1:

It was a good thing I had that option to hop to another park. Not saying I did mind you :rolleyes1 just that I had the option. That is probably one of the bigger reasons when I did not have the AP, I always got hoppers.

Cheesecake is always a good alternative to crazy crowds. I don't think one person suggested I would stay at the room and maybe hit the pool?

You all know me too well!:rotfl2::rotfl2:

So, where did I head and how long did I stay at POP?

I think I'd have preferred staying at RPW to trying to navigate the crowds!! YIKES!!

Let's see... I think you stayed at the resort two hours tops, from battery change to cheesecake- and that may have even included a quick swim.

GREAT on your running! You are already faster than I ever was last summer- never did get better than a 45 minute 5K.:banana: So 2 dancing banana guys for you!!

Remember, I was trying to do a relaxing trip :rolleyes1 but then again, you know i can't sit still for very long.

Yeah, I remember the relaxing part.
I'm still going with NO.

I'll give you credit for a short rest time, but then you were off again. ::yes:: I look forward to seeing where you were off to. :thumbsup2

We love AP's (and hoppers in between AP's), but some of our trips have to be taken 'on the cheap', and we have regular tickets. We just apply a little more strategy as we plan our days, and it is okay, but definitely not as good as hop, hop, hopping around!

Guess who we get to see tonight?
Anita, Marc, and Baylor are doing their overnight stop in Nashville, so we're going to run down to their hotel and hook up for a few minutes. :) And tomorrow, the Atlanta DIS fun is on! Wish you and JillyB could have worked it out to come.

If they had anything interesting going on there I probably would have gone back.

You know I look back and post everything is going good and then I have suckorama run today. Slowest to date since I have been keeping track. :rotfl2: The knees were just grumpy old men tolday and would not run. The best I could do was trot and that was actually frustrating. Maybe it is next weather system coming through or allergy related malaise.

I actually had a moment where I had to cross our subdivision entrance and a car was waiting, so I picked up the pace and luckily my body complied. So it actually felt like a good run so I thought, "why can't I be running like this ?" and immediately I felt the daggers in my knees as I cleared the road and got back on the sidewalk. " That's why" Ouch, Ouch, Ouch until I slowed down.
Just not meant to be today, but at least I slogged through.

I will suck it up and try again on Sunday- it has to be better that today that 's for sure.

I was very fortunate to have my AP. I initially tried to convince DS to have regular tickets but I got him hoppers because he just can't make up his mind and likes to hop. That day I was very thankful I could just get out of there and maybe go somewhere else.

:banana: Stupid work.:lmao: Tell them I am so jealous and thinking about them.
Hopefully all this weather should be out of the way by the time they come on through.
Gotta run some errands before going into work later. Crazy rain is coming though. Hmmmmm.

:lmao:I just knew when you put the rainbow of people it was tour groups!!! I may just have to take a picture of each group I see in a few weeks for you Pat!!!!

Pool? No Way! I just never envisioned you as a pool person........ :rolleyes1

Good call on abandoning AK with all the "rainbow" crowd impact! I have done the same thing before with our APs, and also hoppers when we don't have the APs. I may not use the park hopper option that much, but the extra cost is more than worth it to me when it allows me to avoid sights like that.... :thumbsup2

Pat:

I didn't want you to think I had forgotten about Charlotte. I have been busy trying to get Jeremy through the last few days of school, work, field trip, scout camping--you get the picture!

I plan to sit down this weekend and make some plans for my July trip to Charlotte. I will let you know what we are doing and see when we could meet up. You are still up for a dis meet, right? :)

Standing in the single rider with not much to do I started taking pictures. Then when a "new " color came along, I snapped that too. I did not really realized until late how MANY there were. All thier fastpasses came due so they all got in line at the SAME time. :scared1:

Take pictures of them for me. ::yes::

Need any help with that visit to NC???? That is coming up soon too.

Pool? No Way! I just never envisioned you as a pool person........ :rolleyes1

I will admit I like the pool more when I don't have to manage it. :rolleyes1
As much as I do like the pool I never seem to have enough time relaxing AT the pool. Especially at Disney.
Now my DS who is in his 2nd year lifeguarding is running into the same problem. I told him our subdivision pool is open and he could go down and the response was " Mom, I work at a pool." Fair enough. :lmao:
I will say this weekend has been BUSY- hot and sunny has brought everyone to the water.
