The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Super Weather girl that's me!!!!!:rotfl2:

Does Jackie know this? She's the one who stays glued to The Weather Channel at the sight of a grayish cloud.

I hope she knows the fun I poke at her about her weather obsession is all in fun. ;)

No, Jackie, not funnel cloud....FUN! :dance3:
Change that channel!

I think back in Sept we talked about it when hurricanes were looming. I tell ya I was on it today, I was so proud of myself since I was so accurate.

I will admit I had my eyes glued to 2 different radar screens most of the morning (the Dis was my third screen :rolleyes1)

:lmao: We may have to have one of those epic superhero battles for that name. ;)

That's certainly been true the past few days. I cracked a tooth and took Friday off to see a dentist. Unfortunately, there was no dentist in town who could see me. (They were all either off or booked.) So, I went to Urgent Care for an antibiotic and a painkiller. I have been good for nothing else except lying on the couch and watching the Weather Channel in my little Lortab bubble. I watched the storms come through Oklahoma on Thursday night, watched the storms march across Mississippi and Alabama on Friday, watched the storms come through Georgia on Friday night (I also had my computer sites up and could see the worst storms were splitting around us to the north and south, so I didn't have to drag myself to my SIL's basement), and then yesterday I watched the storms move through North Carolina. At this point, I feel like Dr. Forbes is a close personal friend of mine. :lmao:

It's been a busy weekend for weather, but I think Charles will be happy to know it is all gone, and I won't need to turn the tv on today. ;)

:rotfl::rotfl: Yesterday I was good though.

There were outdoor events planned all day yesterday and Wednesday I looked at the radar and told the Athletics guy that it should be done by early afternoon about 1 or 2 but ball games would be called on account of muddy fields. Satruday morning I looked again, had 2 sites up when it got closer and refreshed every 5 minutes. About 10:30 I warned the front desk staff that any party in the water between 12 -1 may be affected since it will blow through about that time. We were closed down from 12:20-12:50. The afternoon events at 2 were back outside instead of being in the gym but the fields were too muddy for baseball.

Our weather guys were calling for storms until late afternoon. :confused3

I felt I earned my keep yesterday. Predicting superpower in tact. Or maybe I controlled it? :scratchin:

Sorry about the tooth Jackie. I only was able to "study up " a bit on Wednesday to make the call for Saturday. Saturday AM, I sat in front of the computer at work, answered the phones and watched the radar until 1pm (and Dised)

Nice parade pictures! I have to confess I would have joined Liesa in heading for the rides while everyone else was watching the parade, though.

I think my favorite shot is Goofy's water canteen. That's priceless! :rotfl2:

It could be a non dash parade party!

I hate that my dash key doesn't work!

I was sitting here trying to figure out what the heck a dash parade was! :lmao::rotfl2:

Seriously, I have spent the last hour dealing with tech support in India.... my "five", "seven", "nine", dash, and forward brackett, and all the supporting shift keys don't work at all. It is VERY frustrating for typing in a forum!!! I have to re dash install the OS, and if that doesn't work, I'll have to take it back to Walmart, and have it shipped to a repair depot, which will take seven to 10 days. UGH!!

It really is a "feel good" parade. After rave reviews from MeMom I had to make time for it. When going solo at AK I was able to everything I wanted to do and still have time for the parade.

I am surprised that his canteen did not boil over due to the heat that day. :rotfl2:

:scared1::scared1: What a pain. Make sure you back up anything you have so you won't lose it.

I hope you get it all sorted out soon.

I made my way through Trip 1 today and I have to say I am really enjoying your TR. Hope to catch up soon.

With the Parade safely going around the Tree of Life,I ventured forward toward Africa to check out the Taste of Africa.

I was texting with both MeMom and Wigd trying to coordinate a meet.

MeMom: Bella was miserable and they were leaving EPCOT at 4pm.
Wigd and Shocker were still planning on meeting in Africa. :woohoo: MeMom was with Bella and she would not make it.:sad2:

I looked around. A DJ was playing.

Dancing was happening.

Conga lines were happening. Everyone with their hands up is part of the conga line.

Wigd was texting me on her and Shocker’s progress. They were approaching AK.

I looked around in the store for a bit of air conditioning.

Would Wigd and Shocker make it?
Would MeMom or any of the Memom clan make it?
Would I die of heat stroke before anyone made it?
Stay tuned

Pat, awesome pictures in the update.

Those nails!!!! :scared1: How can anyone function with nails like that. I just had my gal shorten mine because I was having issues with my jewelry again.

That Taste of Africa with eats and drinks looks good...we've never seen that (or I've just missed it or ignored it).

I like the first top in the pics you took in the store.

Those nails were worthy of a picture. :scared1:

Taste of Africa was part of Summer Nightastic and was only at Ak for a few weeks last summer. That was the first night and it was clear that the managers were out and watching to see how it went. I wonder if they will try it again??? I think a cooler time like Oct  may work better.

I like the first top in the pics you took in the store.

I liked that one too. It did not come home with me though. :sad2:
