The Side effects of the AP-Trip#6 Oct 10 Final thoughts and some TMI

Once again, Glenn beats me to the inevitable Caddyshack joke. I was hoping to see Bill Murray in the pictures, but didn't spot him. Maybe that's him in the blurry one? :confused3

I don't know the exact formula, but I do know from experience that poop flows downhill.

And somehow we are always downhill when it starts to flow. :rotfl2:

what else can you add to two pages of pool in the pool talk :confused3:laughing:

I could go on about the AFR..... :rotfl2:

in case anyone forgot that great moment in cinematic history here is a little link to the movie clip.

hope it works.

It has been a while sine I have seen that, so I laughed so hard. You know I still get asked once in a while if we have to drain the pool when it happens. :lmao:

If I had the guards get in a HAZMAT suit - i would pee my pants to watch the reaction to it.

Wow, I missed that adventure! Or at least it doesn't ring a bell. I was thinking more of my job, actually. :sad2:

Well for that I am sorry. :sad2: With us, people treat us like WE did it on purpose and so we can take a break. :sad2: In fact it is more work for us AND we need to deal with people who think we did it.:lmao:

It is every parents fear. I know even mine did it when they were little. :scared1:

The swimmie diapers have helped tremendously just make sure they fit well. Any gap and it slips out. If you are still really freaked add a pair of elastic plastic pants on top of it.

Bath tubs yes, pools no. Thank God!

When we used to find poop and the only people in the pool have been adults for water excercise .......

 Now that's nasty! Get out people! :scared:

Buzz= chlorine > Zurg = poop Buzz wins!

Maybe I should use this formula for my chemistry class this summer. Is this theory, hypoothesis, or law??

:lmao: Oooooh, you two.

Pat, that was a fascinating update!! :thumbsup2 That's what I love about TRs, everyone brings their own experiences and one can learn from that! It is comforting to know that the chlorine, which my eyes hate, actually does the job it is supposed to do! :thumbsup2

So true. :goodvibes I thought it was the soda ash that made your eyes burn, probably both along with other stuff. Pat? Your the expert, what bothers one's eyes in the pool? We're seeing a lot of salt water pools cropping up here, is that a new thing of the future?

We just converted our salt water pool to chlorine. We had an awful time keeping the ph levels where they needed to be and it was really hard to keep clean. :sad2: The company that originally installed our pool even discourages the salt water pools now.

The pH is what bothers your eyes. You eyes are most comfortable when teh pH is between 7.4 and 7.6. At either end they will burn. The chlorine affects the pH but you can have chlorine in the water and still balance the water so that there is minimal eye burn. :teacher:

Salt water pool are becoming popular. The actual system is the sodium chloride( salt) is broken down to form chlorine gas as the disinfectant. It is supposed to be effective but in backyard pools or small bodies of water in general - under 100,000 gal- it can hard to keep everything balanced if the unit is not the proper size.

pH riding high? Sometimes the unit for a backyard pool is harderto keep running efficiently than the ones for an olympic sized pool.

Kind of like peeing the ocean vs the toilet. You can see your effect in the toilet but in the ocean it gets real diluted. Once a big pool is regulated it is harder to mess up.

We use UV and Chlorine. The UV really helps keep the chlorine by-products from building up.

There are a couple of people who know where i ended up. But they have not been around in a bit. :rolleyes1 I may or may not wait for them. :rolleyes1

Do I know?

If it's me, I have been reading. I just didn't have any insight into the poo/pool conversation.

I would love to have a pool surrounded by a big privacy fence, because swimming would be the perfect exercise for me.

Yup, we went through a ridiculous amount of acid :sad2:

I thought so. Ack there is a way to deal with that issue but since my current job had no pool maintenance ( we have 2 people who job is just taking care of the pools ) I am rusty. You need to mess with the alkalinity or calcium or both... :rolleyes1 and that will help the pH problem.

I was too far behind to make comments, but am all caught up now (I do love your pics!). I will have to stop taking trips so I don't get so far behind. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Do I know?

I think you do. However you did not make it there but members of your family did. :)

Sorry I got off track since my everyday life deals with poo. ;):lmao:

I would love one too but my current backyard is not shaped right for a pool.

Don't stop taking trips. :lmao:

I feel the same way, things slow down on the Dis on the weekend sometimes. That when I can usually get caught up but I am working this weekend.
So I am peeking in now from work. It is my late night but I am hoping to get an update done later tonight, maybe if I am not wiped out by thte time I get home, eat and catch up a bit. :)

:lmao: Oooooh, you two.

I think you're the only one who actually caught it, Camille... :worship:

I may need to watch that movie again soon.

Why did you wear your expensive shoes to the outhouse??? :lmao:

1) It was just after we moved there, so I wasn't a seasoned outhouse user yet.

2) It was the only pair I had- I quickly went out and bought $1.00 plastic flip flops after that.

I had to go back and look - yup I think I missed it but I also think I caught it now.

At first I thought- plastic flip flops do not offer much protection but then I will employ the same thought process I do when dealing with corrosive pool chemicals....
Pool chemicals are easier to wash off your skin - even if they burn a bit - but they ruin clothes. So instead of putting on more clothes to deal with pool chemicals most pool people strip down ...

to their bathing - not birthday suit people!!! this way if we get splashed we run and jump in the pool.

So I figure outhouse juice is probably also easier washed off from skin rather a nice leather shoe. :confused3
