Time for a boat ride.
I got up early and spent EMH at DHS. FP for TSM but it was down. Rode Tot but RnR was and no Bo.
Despite it sounding like a horrible morning it wasn’t. I was in Disney world and not at work so it was all good.
It was 8:40 am and I was sitting on the boat waiting to go to EPCOT.

We waited for a bit.

Finally – over to the Swolfin.

Hmmm somebody is getting ready for something special.

Looks like they are preparing that boat for a brunch of sorts.

You can sort of see the chairs and tables on the boat.

Hello Boardwalk area.

So peaceful in the morning. I hopped off at the BC/ YC and walked over to the IG AKA the private entrance.

I was here a t 9:02 am. Missed it by that much. No biggie.

I walked through the empty World Showcase and right to Innovations.
It was time to try Sum of all thrills. I approached and walked right in to catch the instructions.

I think there was 1 other person in there. I watched the instructions and then walked out to the design board. I had a CM come right up to me and basically help me design the whole thing. Fast and spinny. Then I was put in the simulator and rode my or rather the CM’s creation. This happened so fast that I never even got the camera out.

I was grateful that the CM was there to help me since there was no one else really in the area but I would have like to take my time a bit more and I felt I could not do that.

I had a great ride and will have to do it again.
I take this opportunity to grab breakfast. I head to Sunshine seasons and had the Adult Breakfast platter.

I was not planning on staying at Epcot so I did not grab a FP for Soarin. It was a peaceful morning at EPCOT too.

I wanted to visit Jordan’ s favorite bathroom so off I went.

There was a group of people standing by the bathroom . I was unsure if it was a tour or not but as I got closer I realized they were CM doing an orientation of sorts. I believe they were going to be managers due to some of the conversation about making sure they are watching and how to motivate others was included in what I heard.

Here they are leaving.

They went to stand under a tree.
It was getting hot, real hot. It was only 10 am. I did not want to walk around Epcot with it being so hot. I had spent last night at EPCOT so I did not want to stay. The freedom of being alone.
I made that long walk back out the IG.

I pass the shop but the glare prevented any good pictures.

A boat is waiting so I board. No hurry to get to DHS.

Wow, you really did some serious park hopping that day!! Those boats always seem sooo slow to me, I always wonder wether they are worth the bother. Of course it makes you arrive much more relaxed so that might be a good thing... I am wondering wether getting off at the Swolphin and then walking from there might have been faster... I guess I will get to do lots of research on that topic on my next trip!

I have gotten off the Swolfin and made the dash before. I know it was so hot already so maybe I just did not want to walk that far in that heat. Judging by the pictures, I did get off at the BC/YC and walk from there. I was a hopping maniac that day.


In October if the weather is cool, the walk can be pleasant and a little faster.

Oooh, so glad to hear you liked Sum of all Thrills. DH wanted to do it last trip but the line was too long. We will have to get there at rope drop this year!

I know I wanted to get to Sum of all Thrills early and since I was at EMH the day before I did not need to stay at EPCOT. The lines are much longer later in the day.

Getting to 2 park openings in one day was icing on the cake. I missed the show but still had the benefit of a relatively empty EPCOT.

Being by myself I could so I did. I spent more time on the boat than I did in EPCOT but at the moment DHS was not luring me to stay so I did it.


You can make the ride tame but motion sickness is motion sickness so if the simulator effect is what bothers you it best to skip it.

I need Jill to see your Boardwalk pictures. We've been planning to go for her birthday (10-5) and Magic Kingdom's (10-1) for a while now. We're booked at Pop, but we have the chance to buy some DVC points from a DIS friend. Jill has always wanted to stay at Boardwalk, so that's where we would stay the last two nights. It all sounds perfect to me, but now she's hesitating because of the money. Bella has to have a plane ticket now, of course, so that adds to the costs. She knows I'll help with that, though. Maybe she's not wanting to ask her boss for three days off? I'm not sure. She said if she can't go, this could be the MeMom and Me trip with Brooklynn, but since it's celebration time for MK and for Jill, I sure want Jill to be there.

Maybe you could slip in a Boardwalk picture or two over on our TR.
She needs some subliminal messages to sway her over so I can book those DVC points and so that she can have a nice birthday treat.

I think she was just being helpful, not rushy, I like tinkering with the stuff and did explain as she zoomed through it. I guess next time I will get there early but not first thing. I want other people to distract the CM's from me so I can take my time.

That trip I am All Star Sports because of the 5k and the pin code I got had no availability at POP. But A-S-Spo has transportation to the 5 k so it will work out better for me. That is the only All star I have not stayed at yet so now I can cross it off the list.

This lovely morning I had visited DHS already. I have been to EPCOT and now I am going back to DHS. I know, it is nuts but hey I am alone and I can do what I want and that is what I want.

Time line- It was 10:15 or so. I went out the IG and boarded the boat that was waiting. I take a seat in front and wait.

While I am waiting I overhear the conversation of the 2 boat captains.
Meet Conrad Waldolf ( Paul)

And Jerry Statler ( Don)

The nicknames will be apparent soon.
Statler: She said to wait. We are the 30 boat.
Waldolf: Are you sure? We should be the 15 boat.
Statler: I have no idea why but I know she said we are the 30. She is wrong but Ok we are the 30 boat.

I am the only one on the boat! I start to chuckle but the conversation continues but we wait. Statler continues to complain that the supervisor has no idea what she is doing and why did they change and so forth. It was not ugly as it sounds but I thought it was funny.
We depart the IG with just me on board about 21 after the hour. They decided the supervisor was wrong and left before the half hour. They may have seen a boat coming and realized something was wrong.

We pick up people at the Boardwalk and continue on ( I took the pictures of the boat captain at the Boardwalk stop) Statler is still going on about the time and how messed up things were. Waldolf is just listening and nodding. Any comment Waldolf did make just seemed to fuel Statler more, so Muppet like.
I guess they can tell by the position of the boats that they are late, so they are hustling a bit to catch up. This only makes Statler more agitated. Again I found it humorous and not ugly sounding.
Making now quick stops at both the BC/YC and Swolfin we are on the home stretch to DHS.
Statler: Looking at Waldolf, deadpan expression, I think she said 15.
WHAT?!?! After all that he finally admits that he heard wrong and the supervisor was right. Not only that but he is the reason the boat was running late and all the stress he had in the last 20 minutes he caused.

I really had to stifle my laughter at that moment. This was a moment where I was glad to be a bystander and not an employee. In other words, glad to be at Disney and not at work.

The boat arrives at the DHS dock and by all accounts the boat is back on schedule. I almost wanted to stay on to watch these guys some more. They cracked me up.

I brave the bag check and the turnstiles and head down to ToT for a FP.

My notes say I rode TSMM but I have no picture of the queue or more importantly my score.

I did make it that far to see this

It was 11 am and the FP were almost totally gone.
Time for some unfinished business.

I have not seen the movie yet. If you remember I got interrupted in Dec by the call of nature.

I thought this was incredible. A scale size replica complete with animal carvings.

Well, I get down to the end of the exhibit and I just missed the start to the movie. Do I want to wait?
For one reason or another I don’t. I head back down here.

The time is now

11:28 if you can’t see that. My FP window opens at 11:35 so I meander down the blvd and take the opportunity to take some pics of the hotel.

I take the plunge, enjoy my ride- no redneck pic this time
It was hot, very hot already. It was almost noon and I was hot. I was about to become a diva and no snickers bar was going to fix this.
HaHa I am alone so I leave. That’s right, I go to the busses to go back and get out of the heat.
I get on a bus since it pulls up right as I approach . YEEEESSSSS. Score some pixie dust right there.

It was just me this time on the bus and no drama about what time it is supposed to leave this time.

At this point I am looking forward to a dip in the pool.

Great update! I hope the pool felt good. I'm trying to get around to everyone's threads better these days. Forgive my not being around, I read everything you write.

Did they close One Man's Dream ?

I think we're going to have to take a trip together one of these days, you, me, Tammie, Maroo, and Liesa. Wooooo Hooooo that would be a fun trip, I think we would all have to wear depends the whole trip to keep from leaking in our pants, the amount of laughter that would come from us gals would be worth it though!!

Okay, I am a newbie to the Epcot area and this whole International Gateway entrance. We have never stayed in that resort area and usually take the monorail to the main entrance. Where exactly would I find it? Is the boat dock near it or is it the boat dock at the Yacht Club? I appreciate any help you can give me.

Love your TOT pictures. DS is adamant that he is going to ride it this year. DH and I are keeping our fingers crossed. I really want to give it a try. May never ride it again but I would like to at least once.
