Not saying you spoke this into existense, but until the thread earlier this week I didn't know this feature existed. Fast forward to today's long run and I tripped and went down hard only to hear my Garmin buzzing at me. So it turns out it's a buzz and a loud tone similar to something like a weather alert. Lasted about 5 seconds, went silent for another 5 and then came back on again. It then requires you to hold any button for 10 seconds to cancel it. Fortunately I was fine. Ironically the only thing that remains sore is my ribs. I had my phone, which it needs to communicate, in the front of my hydration vest and it jammed into my ribs when I went down. So I can now say (1) yes it has this feature, (2) yes it requires phone to work and (3) yes it seems to work if you are clumsy, trip over warped boards and go down hard while running.o any of you have a Garmin watch that has the option to notify an emergency contact in case of an incident? One of the people I follow on IG, who is training for a triathlon, crashed while out riding his bike and immediately it notified his wife that he had crashed and also sent his location. I am now very interested in this as when I do my bike training, I rode alone. Just wondering how well it works and if you have to also have your phone on you for the notification to work.
I do, mostly for the calming affect and it helps with calcium absorption. I can't do the horse pills so I get chews from Amazon.August totals:
Walking: 7.1mi
Running: 52.1mi
On an unrelated note, does anyone in here take magnesium glycinate supplements? I’ve been having a lot of general achiness in my lower legs for the past couple of months and was trying to explain it away with aging shoes that are nearing their mileage limit for me. But my legs are starting to wake me up at night.
I would say without hesitation Run the Bluegrass in Lexington which was May 11 this year, except....I received an email a few weeks ago from the Race Director saying he is moving on to other endeavors, so the event may have permanently ended. This would be really sad since it is a consistent top 10 rated HM.Because it's never too early to plan next year's races...
Looking for a half near end of April/early May within 4 hours of Indianapolis. We've already done the Indy Mini and Flying Pig. Has anyone ever done Glass City (Toledo) or Kalamazoo in the spring? Opinions?
I haven't done the ones you mentioned but I ran the derby festival half in Louisville years ago and still remember how much fun it was. It'd be worth checking out.Because it's never too early to plan next year's races...

In week 8 of my 18-week marathon training plan for the Every Women's Marathon in Savannah in November, using and loving the Runna App. This will be my first marathon since 2017 and a lot of life happened that pulled me from doing races. Feels so good to be back at it!
I have friends who live in Celebration and run it every year. I can certainly ask them for more details, but the general feedback I have heard from them is that it is quite friendly and community oriented. They are an active older (65+) couple who are regular runners if that helps. It does sound like it is mostly folks who live in Celebration and a lot of past + present CMs participate as well.I'm a runner and a Disney fan. I've run Disney races & loved them. Couldn't get a spot in this year's Marathon. I notice that Celebration (the community near DW) has a Marathon 2 weeks later (1/26). https://www.celebrationmarathon.com/ It looks really small & I can't find many reviews online. I know it won't be anything like the massive, highly themed spectacle of a RunDisney race. But it's a time of year when I want to run a marathon & I'll be able to go to the parks after the race & celebrate with rides & Disney dining. Does anyone have experience with this race or know anything about it?
