Shoes: I have 2 pairs of Altra Olympus original versions that I've been rotating through. I bought 4 pairs in the spring of 2015, 3 gray and 1 purple, so I've been using the purple sparingly since last fall and they only have 186.2 miles on them right now. I'm currently on pair 2 of the gray ones and it's probably about time to swap them out. They have 271.1 miles and the tread is getting pretty worn at the ball and starting to wear through to the black in some places (i.e. the colored layer of tread is worn away and I can see the black part underneath).
I need to do the process of finding out what to wear next. The Olympus is in their trail line of shoes, but the 1.0 model was marketed as being good for hard trails or roads. I decided to give them a try because at the time I was eager to try out Altras due to the shape/width of my foot, and I didn't like the colors of the Paradigm 1.0 model (the road shoe line), and I got a GREAT deal on those pairs of the Olympus, which is why I bought 4 pairs. They are $150 shoes and I got all the gray ones for $29.88 each and the purple ones for $45. But now I've been running in these 1.0 versions for almost 2 years now, and both the Olympus and the Paradigm have been through 1.5 and 2.0 versions. I would bet good money they'll be to 2.5 by the time I finish out these last 2 pairs.

The Olympus no longer mentions road in the ideal uses, so I'm guessing I'll make the switch over to the Paradigm. I've wanted to try out the Torins, too, for shorter runs, but just haven't picked up a pair.
