actually camilla hasn't aged well at all - she wasn't diana or kate pretty but she wasn't ugly either when she was younger

Wow, that really isn't a bad picture of her at all! I know this is blasphemy for a lot of people, but I don't really hate Camilla anymore. I'm over all of that. I think Diana would be too.

i was up with the birds for charles and diana, andrew and sarah and i'll be getting up with dd for william and kate.

Me, too. But I was younger then. I don't think i will do the 4:00. Will try for 6:00 - 8:00. Then, I have to go to work!
Why are they doing this on a work day?!

ok - we just finished making a small batch (should have made more but it was only what dh brought in :( ) of strawberry jam.

while that was cooling i made devonshire cream

all i can say is

OH MY GOD. Mmmmmmmm

i just might have to make more jam and cream because i might not be able to keep this batch for a week LOL

i've made jam before but never the cream and i have NO idea why i never did before

Jam was so simple.

1 large basket (or 2 of those pint ones)

1.25 cups - 1.5 cups sugar and 1.5tbl spoon lemon juice.

boil for 10 -12 minutes, pull off the foam and jar up. this small a batch produced 6 4oz jars. for this little you don't need to reboil the jars when you close them because they won't last in the cupboard lol

for the cream.

a 400g container of cream cheese, 1c heavy cream 1.5tlb sugar and a pinch of salt.

whip it all up until creamy and soft peaks and jar it up (only 1/2-3/4 will fit back into the creamcheese container.)

scones, cream then jam. and tell me you won't try to eat more then 1 in one sitting :)

So the British can have a bank holiday with a free day off. :goodvibes

would be nice if the other countries in the commonwealth got the day off too :p

I will obviously be watching it! I get a free day off work for the occasion!

The main coverage here will be by the BBC- so I am guessing BBC America will have the same or similar coverage. Other channels are showing some too, but the BBC are showing the whole event.

I will be up for 10am eating something suitably British, probably with a cup of tea! :goodvibes

I'm going to watch the BBC too - no adverts :thumbsup2

I was working yesterday and will work tomorrow and Monday too so will definitely be looking forward to a day off! I can't wait to see the dress! I have vague memories of Fergies wedding I'm definitely excited for this one :goodvibes

I'll be up and watching until I have to leave for work at 6. I'll record anything I miss.
I, too, got up early to watch Charles and Diana.
I also remember getting up early to watch Princess Anne marry Mark Phillips. To this day- her's was the most beautiful wedding dress EVER!! I swore I would wear a dress like that when I got married- but mine was actually not like it at all! :rotfl:

I am looking forward to all the coverage and seeing her dress. I love the pageantry that a Royal Wedding brings. :thumbsup2

i haven't been following it at all - just googled to see when the wedding is but instead found a recent picture of the couple....she's looking mighty anorexic to me....or was it just the picture?

anyway, when is the wedding? day? time?

if it's during the day, i suppose i'll be working rather than watching...

i just found that you can watch it live streaming on the royal you tube site: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ovFwNZHclMk&feature=player_embedded

And the former colonies, too. ;)

Kim

now now now - you can't have it both ways there yanky.

can't pour precious tea in your harbours then want a day off too

don't be greedy ;)

it's on my birhtday :)

oh but since you dont know when that is - it's April 29th.

Coverage starts on some channels at 3am easatern and pretty much every other channel at 4am eastern.

the wedding is at 11am british time so that's 6am eastern.

it'll be over before most people in North America have to go to work so you people have no excused not to watch :rolleyes1:thumbsup2popcorn::

Although the schools are getting a day off many employers have rightly so not given this as a public holiday. April is a crazy month as schools are only open for 8 days :)

I am hoping the roads will be nice and clear while I work to avoid this.
Whilst I am not a fan of the royal family I do feel sorry that William's mum is not there to see her son's wedding.

Beth, since you are in Israel, I'm not sure what time it will start for you. It starts at 11am Great Britain time. Are you 4 or 5 hours ahead of that? Haven't check the time converter lately.

Kim

I'm so glad I came across this thread! I had no idea what time it started, but I definitely want to watch. and I know I never would have thought of BBC america! I was too young for Charles and Diana's wedding, but I don't want to miss this! My DH thinks i'm nuts!

Ahhh, it's a wonderful month to work in teaching! :goodvibes

Kim

we're two hours in front of the UK...
so if it's at 11 am there, it's 1 pm my time and i will be working...

although, i can watch it live streaming on the net....

here's the 'official' site (don't know how official it is, but it claims to be):
http://www.officialroyalwedding2011.org/

and this is the official wedding streaming site (royal channel live stream):

Love the thread :)
We are staying at BCV and will definately be waking up to watch as a Brit.:woohoo:
My DD thought we would go to france the night before and get some of those gorgeous pastries at sit in bed and watch, while DH sleeps.
The swan and dolphin is showing it on big screens and giving english breakfast but do not know how sociable I will feel at that time of the morning .
I also wondered if England in Epcot would be doing anything :confused3

Add me to the list of the crazy people getting up at 3am (I'm central time) to watch the coverage. I do have to work that day, but I'm hoping my timing will be such that the wedding will be over and they'll be on their way to the palace. I will set my Tivo so I don't miss anything.

I was up to see Charles and Diana, and remember seeing her dress and saying I wanted a train just like hers when I got married. Mine wasn't quiet as long, but it was 15 or 16 feet! :goodvibes

A WDW cast member will be an iReporter for CNN. Won the contest, so he gets to go cover the wedding with his girlfriend... Had a great contest submission filmed all around the UK pavillion at Epcot.
