Day 2 – Monday 27th September 2010-10-02

We got up at the crack of dawn, 6am. It wasn’t too bad actually as we were excited, not like getting up for work! We went down for our breakfast slot at 7am and it was fairly quiet which was nice. Although I do think the hotel caters really well for lots of people because there were about 6 stations dotted around all with the same items so we just went for the quieter ones at the back. Breakfast was yummmyyyy and we were really impressed with it, never felt the need to pay more for the cooked option! We both got bread rolls with cheese, ham for me, nice proper butter and pain au chocolat mmmmmm! I also had a bit of cereal and Ben had a croissant with Nutella.

We decided to walk to the park because the weather was nice and we got there at just after 8.

We went straight to Discoveryland and did Buzz which we just walked straight onto. Neither of us were very good at this, no idea how people get such crazy high scores! Our ride kept stopping as well so we had extra time but it still didn’t help us!

Then we did Orbitron because we’d never done it before and there was no queue. We tried to get into the same one but couldn’t fit!!! So I had to go round and find a new one haha. Took some excellent photos of Ben looking like he was going really fast!

Thennnnn we did Space Mountain twice because we loved it, then walked over to Fantasy Land. Snow White and Pinocchio were both closed which was a bit annoying because I like them, so we went on Peter Pan and queued for about 10 minutes, not too bad. I love this ride I think its really magical and fun and just a classic! The woman in front of us was taking loads of photos inside though and the constant flashing was kind of annoying :(

At about 9.45 we went over to the Studios which was already open so we walked on through knowing we’d have time for photo ops later (I love all the detailing in the inside bit you walk through.) We went straight to Tower of Terror and waited about 5 minutes for it to open and then walked through. I LOVE this ride in Florida and was really excited to see the Paris version because it wasn’t there when we came here last. Ooooh it is spooky! I love the fact that it’s so authentic and really does look like it was just abandoned, cobwebs on everything etc. I took a lot of photos here! We really enjoyed the ride itself too, very scary!!

Then we walked over to TOY STORY PLAYLAND which we were so excited to see!! This also wasn’t there during our last visit. Absolutely loved all the theming and we took many, many photos here of which I shall share just a selection! We sang along to all the songs and spent a fair bit of time quoting the films (“Somebodys poisoned the waterhole!”) We went straight to RC Racer because Parachute Jump was already on 30 minutes :( We were in the front row of RC Racer which was really cool, this turned out to be one of Bens favourite rides! I really liked it but felt it was a bit brief and wouldn’t have wanted to queue up long for it.

Also had a little photo shoot in front of the Cars ride!

DSCN0597.jpg

DSCN0598.jpg

Then we headed over to Crush’s Coaster to check out the waiting time….40 minutes already eeekk!! This was at like 10.30!! We decided to pass and make it our priority on the next EMH. As we were deciding where to go next I saw a queue forming at the little character meet and greet next to Crush’s Coaster and then Buzz walked over!! I got really excited and we ran over and got in the queue :D Got an awesome photo of us!

DSCN0601.jpg

We went to Animaqique next which I REALLY enjoyed, was lovely to hear all the classic songs (although Under The Sea in French was a new one!!) and we loved the combo of live action and on the screen :D We left the theatre singing the song!

We trooped off to Moteurs…Action, absolutely loved this last time, I was moaning because I’m not a fan of cars and stunts and stuff like that but we ducked in because there was no queue and it turned out to be one of my favourite bits of the holiday! And it didn’t fail to disappoint this time!! I just think it’s so amazing how they do all the stunts, fantastic!!

DSCN0609.jpg

After this we were feeling a bit peckish so we wandered back to the DLP as I had pencilled in Agrabah Café for our lunch today :D As I previously mentioned Ben is vegetarian and I’d read that AC was good for veggies, a rarity in DLP!! It was mega quiet in here, we think because maybe parents don’t bring their kids here in case they don’t like the food (Moroccan type food) and also it’s 19 euros which makes the cost for families pretty high. But, we love Moroccan food and the cost for just us was low so it was perfect for us! We paid as we went in and ordered drinks which the lady said would be brought to our table.

DSCN0620.jpg

DSCN0621.jpg

We went to the buffet straightaway and checked out the goods! There was loads of yummy things and I didn’t want to fill up on starters because the hot food smelled amazing! I just got a little bit of salady type things; couldn’t photograph the buffet because it was pretty dark in there but I can remember what they had: couscous, carrot salad, roasted veggies (MMM) chickpeas salad, hummous and bread, a spicy tabbouleh with mango which Ben said was gorgeous and a few others. It was all really nice and we both cleared our plates! Then we headed up to the mains and these were soooooooo good!! I had spinach lasagna, chorizo type sausages, meatballs in tomato sauce, potato wedges and I think a couple of chicken wings. MEAT FEST!!

We had to ask the chef to point out the vegetarian stuff as it wasn’t very clear and it’s lucky we did because there was a roasted veggie dish that had veal in it! Sly. Ben found stuff he could have though like the spinach lasagna which was mega nice and the wedges, and I think he also got a bit more salady stuff. Thennnn, even though we were pretty stuffed, we went to check out the desserts and I accidentally got loads…I got crepes with chocolate sauce and a chocolate tart thing which featured in every buffet in the resort!! Ben had crepes with strawberry jam and caramel sauce (?) lovely!

As we were finishing up, who should walk in but JASMINE AND ALADDIN!!!! I got really excited and waved to them as they walked past, they were so in character like pointing at everything and Jasmine was hanging onto Al’s arm, I loved it! Then we got up to leave and as they were walking out the door I caught Aladdins eye and he made a camera gesture :D I was like hell yeah! So I got a lovely photo of the 3 of us which I shall cherish forever, and I didn’t even have to queue for it which was good. They really weren’t that much in demand as the café was so quiet so it was probably quite a nice little break for them. Look at Jasmine! She’s so prettyyyyyy!

DSCN0628.jpg

Suitably stuffed we rolled out of Agrabah and grabbed FP’s for Big Thunder Mountain for when we were feeling slightly less full. The weather was really nice at this point and we were both in really good moods after the unexpected character meet :D We wandered round to Woodys Roundup village bit singing the Woodys Roundup song (“He’s the rootingist tootingist cowboy in the, wild wild west!”) But it was pretty lame, no characters were about and it seemed to be closed for lunch! So we left pretty sharpish after I’d taken photos of all the Halloween stuff that was starting to appear (I LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!)

Then we went over to Indiana Jones as there was only a 5 minute wait but we weren’t really fans of this ride :/ it was pretty jerky and I banged my head a few times on the restraints so we decided that would be the one and only ride! We wandered over to the Pirates Caves bit and Ben did some excellent adventuring while I took photos!

DSCN0644.jpg

DSCN0645.jpg

DSCN0646.jpg

This is Ben excited because we reached Skull Rock!

DSCN0658.jpg

All adventured out and in a piratey mood we decided to queue for Pirates of the Carribean! The queue was only about 10 minutes and it’s well themed anyway. Brilliant ride as always, we love this classic! We saw Jack Sparrow as we were exiting but as neither of us are massive fans of the films we gave it a miss. I did laugh at all the Mums queuing to meet him, he was very attractive!! But with a lot of makeup on, which we noticed was a recurring feature with the male characters through the holiday!! Bert from Mary Poppins and Sleeping Beautys prince in particular had really gone to town with the bronzer. We had a bit of time to kill now before our FP’s so we went on IASM which I love! Stunning as ever.

DSCN0679.jpg

After this we wandered over to BTM only to see a queue of people outside both the normal queue and the FP entrance :( it was closed boooooo!! We were very disappointed.

DSCN0686.jpg

After this shock we decided to call it a day and we left the parks about 5pm. On the way back we dropped in to the petrol station near the hotel and bought some vino and beer. Ben developed quite a serious addiction to Desperados beer during the holiday (it’s got tequila and lime in and you can hardly get it over here apparently) and it started in the petrol station. I bought a bottle of rose wine for an astonishingly cheap 3 euros which was amazing!! I also had to buy a corkscrew which was more expensive than the vino!! We bought some bolognaise flavoured crisps as well that I was really excited about but they were only okay. I enjoyed the fact that there were two other British families in the petrol station and they were both buying alcohol :D

DSCN0688.jpg

Once back in our lovely room we kicked back and relaxed with our bevvies and got ready to go to Buffalo Bills :D

Excellent blurry drinks photos!

DSCN0694.jpg

I requested a small photoshoot with my beautiful Minnie balloon which was duly completed :D

DSCN0702.jpg

I had booked the 9.30 showing using the French site so was a bit tense about getting in, even though I know nobody had any problems! I ended up drinking most of my wine…so the rest of the night is a BIT of a blur but I’ll do my best to remember! We decided to go down for a drink at the Rio Grande bar before we went to the Village, mainly for me to redeem myself to the barman from the night before but typically he wasn’t working. Ben ordered a Desperados and I got a glowtini after seeing a million photos of them on here!

DSCN0712.jpg

DSCN0714.jpg

DSCN0717.jpg

My drink was 7 euros which I thought wasn’t bad (obviously I would faint if I had to pay that price at home but in Disneyland it was an absolute bargain!!) We got the shuttle about 8pm as I’d read you needed to be there early. When we got to the Village however, there was nothing happening at the entrance to BB’s so we went for another drink in the Sports Bar! Lovely. We got a table outside so we could see if anything was happening over at BB’s. Ben got…a Desperados, and I got a cosmopolitan which was SO GOOD!

About 8.30 we wandered over to BB’s and went and queued up at the ticket thing. I nearly had a heart attack here because the girl who was doing the tickets took my printed out confirmation and said “You need to print off the tickets” !!! I thought I had!! I stuttered incoherently for a while and the girl went away leaving me and Ben just looking at each other and me kicking myself for not doing it properly. I really thought we weren’t going to be let in :( BUT the girl came back with a little piece of paper and told us to give it to the girl at the entrance. Hallelujah!! So if anyone is going soon, make sure you’ve printed out the correct thing!! I thought I had but obviously not! Still not 100% sure what I did wrong but we got in so it was all fine.

After all that tension we needed a stiff drink. Well not really because we were already quite merry but we went into the bar area anyway; Ben had another Desperados and I had another Cosmo. It was a bit more expensive in here but we didn’t mind. There was some stunning entertainment in the form of a woman dressed as a saloon dancer doing some tricks, followed by a trio of American country singers who were joined by Goofy. It was all fun and we were really enjoying ourselves (I think ;) ) Then we got given our hats (YELLOW!) and went into the arena. We had the cheaper seats but theres no need to pay more because we had a brilliant view!!

There were tortilla chips on the table which we munched on, and our first course was brought out really quickly. I’d informed the check in lady that Ben was an awkward vegetarian and he had a nice green label with some broccoli on proclaiming his status. We got given a bowl of chilli first which was yummy, lots of kidney beans though which I wasn’t a huge fan of. Benji had vegetarian chilli which he said was also nice. There was cornbread also but we thought it was a bit sweet and should have been a bit more savoury and less cake like!

Then our main course was brought out; I had a tin skillet with ribs, chicken, corn on the cob and potato wedges which was surprisingly nice! Quite spicy though, I was gulping down the unlimited beer (which I don’t even like but was determined not to have coke!). Then they bought Bens out which was really nice but slightly weird and not remotely tex-mex! He had a skillet of Mediterranean vegetables (tomatos, peppers, artichoke hearts, aubergines and courgettes) with cheese tortellini on the top! It smelt gooooood though and Ben really enjoyed it.

While we were eating the show was going on, I won’t spoil it for anyone but we thought it was really good; just possibly not 50 euros worth of good. We are really pleased we went but glad we managed to get such a good deal. At the end of the show we were given apple cobbler and ice-cream which was yummyyy! And the yellow team won!! So we were mega happy hehe!! We left full up and happy, managed to catch the last shuttle bus back (11.30!) and went straight to bed as we were planning to go in to Paris the next day!!

Another fab day! You and Ben have a similar touring style to my DBF and me (including all the adult beverages :rolleyes1).

Thanks for the BBWWS info. I'm a vegetarian and I'm going to the show for the first time next week (also with tickets from the French site- I'll be sure to double-check what I'm printing! :scared1:).

Looking forward to your day in Paris.

Loving your review :goodvibes

Agrabah Cafe sounds really great for us, think we might try it in December :thumbsup2 Thanks for all the info.

Another great day, I'm loving your TR!
Must remember about the 3 euro bottle of wine, and will take a bottle opener with me. Also good cocktail pics, I can't wait to sample them in 4 weeks time!
I love your Mickey jumper, is it from the Disney store? I remember seeing it somewhere...

I am LOVING your trippie!!! Just got back from DLP myself, and I really love the detail you put into your report-made me feel as though I was back there! Really annoyed I missed Rex in the Toy Story Playground! That was a great photo opportunity. I really must put all my Halloween pics on here-and do a trippie!!! Really am loving your work babes!!

:lmao: I was another one of those mums around Captain Jack the first time we met him - I even got my DD to practice using my camera beforehand so the pic would be decent :lmao:!

Loving your trippie :)

Oh no BTM closed!:scared1: I love your photos-really puts us in the moment. TOT is really well done- one of my favs!

Awww thank you so much everyone for the kind comments! So glad you're enjoying it :D I'm loving writing it, can't get enough!! We had such an amazing time I just love looking back at all our photos and everything and I'm going to print out this trippie as a little souvenir :D (as we didn't really buy many actual souvs due to the prices!)

stargatebarbie: That pic of me with Jasmine and Aladdin is possibly my fave!!

Lola: I'm ashamed to say my jumper is from....Primark!! £12 in the mens section, absolute bargain. I got an XL so it's nice and baggy, you should pop in they had a whole range of Mickey stuff before I went away! :D

first trip: Next installment is up, yay!!

Ben1993: Thank you, glad you're loving it!!

Dopey: Aww thank you, what a lovely comment! We did spent an awful lot of time with Rex, but embarrassingly I chopped his head off in every single photo of him with Ben :( felt so bad when he pointed it out! (Ben, not Rex obviously...) As Ben took brilliant ones of me!! Woops. And yes, do a trippie! Now!!!

DLPdaft: Captain Jack was a babe, I don't blame you haha!!

ExpatDisneyLover: BTM being closed was a massive disappointment, we rode it in the end though! :D

Ha! Ha! Glad to see you made up for feeling rough yesterday!!! :lmao:

Love Aladdin & Jasmine!!!!

is it unlimited beer no matter what seats you book for bbwws? making mental note to pack corkscrew aswel!!

looks like ye had a blast, am going to read day 3 now!!

O.k, where did you get that glowtini????? I am gonna need me one of those!!! We are going with friends next month and we will be having a girls night one night. :) We are staying at the Cheyenne Hotel.

I got it at the Santa Fe bar but I'm pretty sure every bar has the same menu, we deffo saw the glow-tinis at the Sequoia Lodge and Disneyland Hotel menus! They get more expensive the more expensive the hotel is though eeek, so Santa Fe was cheapest! :)

thanks a mill libby

we got glowtinis in the cheyenne, they are nice but found many, many more cocktails that we liked! found my ice cube glowing in my wardrobe at the weekend!

our plan for when we go in march for our birthdays is to have a cocktail in every hotel. its a mission im too willing to undertake!! :lmao:

cant wait for the next installment!
