A collective conscious check... I know why I play the game and will attempt to describe it here. But I wonder why many of us do... what do you get out of VMK?
Me - I like to play VMK because it is a place that is very Disney that I can visit everyday. Since it's opening, my visits to old photo albums and video recordings of past vacations has dropped off a bit (although not by much). I can have my Disney Magic and be there too... at least through a digital bitstream of neato Magic Kingdom looking virtual places, games, and such. And don't worry, oh Lurking Disney Marketeers, it DEFINITELY still makes me want to spend money at the real place.
I like to be silly and interact with every avatar shaped person on my screen that I can. Some warrant some silly caper of my devising just because of a clever signature. Some need help or pose as such, to which I am a hopeless trust of character. I will befriend them and walk them through the maze of Frontierland just to be asked afterwards if I am taken. Laugh it off... it's just a silly (and need I mention, free) game.
It is this outlet of silliness and relative safety that keeps me coming back to VMK. In the real Magic Kingdom, I can also be silly, laugh, and rejoice with my family or friends in the fun and funny adventures that arise there. VMK is like that to me, most of the time. I strive to keep it that way...
I like to get with my Dis friends and my non-Dis friends and be........ downright silly. It's fun. It's an outlet of creativity. It's a great escape from the trials and stresses of everyday life - in short, my every visit to VMK is a virtual little vacation.
So there you go. That's me. What about you?
