The more the merrier!
Two days to go.
And just in case you thought it was going to be an all-girl affair....DH and DS have decided they would like to come along. So, there's now 8 of us. Hope this is okay with everyone.
I want to come to Melbourne today. I'm getting homesick. At the moment it is looking like a Christmas trip for me.. Love Chinatown. Have fun. Take care of AussieWendy. :hugs
If I come down then for sure. Just have to work out the logistics with DH and the parents.
I so wish I could catch up with you guys more often. I feel bad for not being thereSounds like you had a good time, as always

Thanks for organising PIO. I had a great time! Although I'm not sure what I'm looking at in the pictureThe food was delish too
!
Yum, yum, yum. I love Yum Cha.
All those delicious dumplings, steamed pork buns, and egg custard tarts are making me hungry.
Great choice of restaurant PIO! I think we need to rename this thread "The Melbourne Disers Food Blog by PIO".
Zanzibar - The first one you had was the chicken feet, the second was eel... Would you like me to go on? Hehehe! How is your DH today? I'm guessing you're not talking AFL or using the M word.

Hi everyone. Back home safely. Thank you very much for organising the get together PIO and everyone who could make it for coming along. Glad I gave you all another excuse! Was lovely to meet everyone-once again reaffirming what great people all who inhabit this board are.
Zanzibar-at least you aren't looking all goggle-eyed! Food was fantastic. Yes, they looked after me very well AWIDY, and I was late this time, having detoured to Qn Vic markets first. We also really liked City Limits where we stayed-first time we have stayed in this part of Melbourne and liked being up "the top end". The room was also spacious for a triple and good to have a kitchenette and basic breaky supplies to keep early risers (like DH) happy until we were ready to have a "second breakfast" later.
DD and I were so full, as was DH from his ventures, that we ended up at la Camera on Southbank sharing a delicious pizza for an early dinner (Moldiva (sp?) being too crowded and Aranji (?sp) being a bit too hot in the late afternoon sun - at least according to my DD). Really enjoyed our meal and a glass of vino by the river. Pirates was good though DH and I found the playing simultaneously of the movie (with the full voice track) while the orchestra provided the score, to be a bit distracting. The orchestra were so good it sounded like the movie track. I had to keep closing my eyes so I could focus on the music. I think I prefer where there is only occasionally visuals to accompany the music (as in Dr Who) but not the whole deal. It was very enjoyable though-this is nitpicking but something we hadn't considered. DD, who can recite the movie virtually word for word - and who is the more musical of all of us, didn't find the movie a distraction at all and said she could focus on the orchestra equally well.
Remember if any of you are up Brisbane way, I and I am sure others, will be happy to host a meet. Have a good week everyone and happy holiday planning, however far away it may be.
Well I'm back from 'the west' Had a good time catching up with family and enjoying great beaches - we swam every day. Being from Perth absolutly spoils you when it comes to beaches in most places of the world
Looks like it was a great DISmeet.
Thanks for the food porn Princess
Hopfully I will be able to make it to the next Melbourne DISmeet![]()
We'll have to think about when to have a next DisMeet.![]()
