~ The Real Housewives of Orange County ~ Season 12~ 2017 ~ JULY 10th

Ok, only halfway into tonight's episode and I'm laughing.

Not buying it Heather. You're mad because Terry didn't like the tree, not because he's not acknowledging your hard work.

His sidebar interview ... priceless! Yes, you should've said you loved it and slowly suggested changes. Lol.

They are by far the most entertaining to watch.

Vicki is either in complete denial about Brooks or is in cahoots with him and is helping him with this lie. To me if people are accusing you of something as heinous as faking cancer, you would produce some sort of evidence to shut them up and not run away everytime it comes up. That, to me, screams guilty!

Did not like those prom dresses Megan's Step DD was trying on- seemed too mature for her.

I just can't see Vicki lying about this. If she's in cahoots this could ruin her insurance business. I wouldn't buy insurance from a fraud!

So this leads me to think she's blind to this. I think Brooks is a master manipulator and he found her weaknesses and played her on them.

I think he's faking it. I've never liked him, he's a sleaze.

This is my thought! Sick!!

Totally think he is lying which is horrible and I feel bad for thinking that. Apparently two of his other exes have said that he has lied about having cancer to them.

Good point about her insurance business, I hadn't considered that.

If he did lie to two exes about the same thing, all I can think of is that saying: "The best predictor of future behavior is past behavior."

My thoughts about proof of treatment, he could easily produce it if he wanted to. (That is if it exists.....;))
I don't want to go too far merging our real life into Housewives stuff, but dh deals with serious illness (not cancer.)
Each time we leave the clinic or infusion center he receives paperwork. One glance and someone would get the drift that this isn't small stuff.
So from our personal experience, I don't get the whole long drawn out discussion. If Brooks is actually sick, I would think he'd shut the discussion down with paperwork. Discharge papers or visit summaries ...or heck, even insurance EOB's... any would be easy for him to grab and show. ::yes::

One thing I find really strange in this whole Brooks story line. Vicki is the ultimate control freak, that has been established. So why is she so disconnected to something so serious? All she ever says is "I take care of my man, blah, blah." Yet she doesn't go to appointments, doesn't insist he go to the world renowned specialists Shannon recommended, she doesn't even seem to really understand his current course of treatment. That's not the Vicki we know.

So, the question becomes why? Maybe I'm remembering this wrong, but didn't Vicki or Brooks state early in the season he had stage 3 cancer? My guess is he really does (or did) have cancer, but not as serious as originally stated. Vicki embellished for her friends, since she knows how they feel about him. Now it's too late, and she can't correct the record- just too stubborn to admit she made a mistake in misleading everyone. Anyhow, that's why I believe if there's anything fishy about all this Vicki knows, she just wouldn't be so distant otherwise.

As far as providing proof, I'll admit I would be the same way. If my "friends" didn't believe someone close to me had cancer, I wouldn't indulge them by providing proof. No way. In fact, I would be so upset I would do the opposite just to get under their skin. "Maybe you're right, maybe I'm lying" that sort of thing.

I wonder about the appt stuff, too. That totally doesn't make sense to me.
If a friend was confused/didn't understand it wouldn't bother me to spell it out. I would expect verbal would be enough. Thankfully, in our case we have supportive friends.

I think having to actually show "proof" is relevant only as it relates to Brooks. He's let this go on and on into the ridiculous drama zone.

I get that Brooks is slimy. But if he really does have cancer, I think it's ridiculous for "friends" to demand proof. As a friend, you can be supportive by asking/suggesting course of treatment, etc. But just because you're not told every detail you demand proof? Again, I would react the same way. I would be floored that my "friends" didn't believe me. I would say if you don't believe my man, fine. But if you don't believe ME, then you're not really my friend at all and I don't owe you any proof.

Also, keep in mind it is a TV show. If there isn't drama, there is no show. So a big part of me believes this is all somewhat staged, that they decided to make this a big story line and keep the viewers guessing.

I haven't watched this week's episode yet, but I did want to put in that Gretchen was on WWHL last night.
She reminded me (us) how Vicki was SOOO upset that Gretchen would do a reality show while someone she loved (Jeff) was dying of cancer. I totally forgot! Remember how awful everyone treated her for doing anything that wasn't all about Jeff's illness because that must mean she was just gold-digging??

Yup!! Typical Vicki the hypocrite!! She couldn't say enough about Slade being a dead beat dad and not paying his child support but the minute Gretchen puts it back on her about Brooks she FLIPS out!!!!! At the 80s party she was in Gretchen's face screaming "Brooks is none if your F'ing business!" She has a lot to say about everyone but no one can say a thing about her or Brooks. Even at Tamara's party she tells Megan to mind her own business about Brooks but the second she and Jim leave, she's talking about their marriage to Tamra. She thinks because she's the "OG of the OC" her behavior is acceptable. I don't quite understand why any of these women would want to be friends with her.

Jeff was in the end stages of a terminal diagnosis though. Vicki says Brooks in fighting for his life, not that he is terminal. There seems to be some confusion with that. I think it was Eddie and Tamra talking about his terminal cancer because Vicky says "fighting for his life"
Gretchen needs to stop whatever shes doing to her face, probably fillers, it's not good.
Ryan (Tamra's Ryan) is so terrible. He's such a crybaby man-boy. Of course he can't handle kids. He's never had to man up and be responsible.

The way Vicki talks about Brooks is cancer makes it seem like its terminal, and I do believe its hypocritical of Vicki to get all upset over Brooks when she did give Gretchen a hard time. I also find it funny how she acts as if she is above the screeching and yelling when she is the #1 culprit of doing that, she may think she's above it but she's right in it. I don't believe Brooks has cancer, and I think Vicki knows that but she doesn't want to look like she's part of the whole scam.

Vicki says Brooks in fighting for his life, not that he is terminal.

I'm sorry, but is there a difference? Isn't fighting for his life more or less the definition of terminal? Does anyone else remember either Brooks or Vicki saying his cancer was stage 3 earlier this season? If that's the case, he would be fighting for his life- if it was true, of course.

I'll say again, I bet there's something to this. Either he had cancer, or has it, but my gut tells me it is not as serious as Brooks/Vicki are saying it is. If I'm wrong, I feel horrible because Brooks is not an actor, he's a really person. With his faults? Sure. But I wouldn't wish that on anyone.

Here's the thing about Brooks' cancer....the producers need this drama or else there's not much of a show. I'm sure some big revelation will happen at the Reunion Show (queue promo of shocked RHWOC + Andy faces).

This show has seriously come down to:

Is Brooks faking cancer?
Will Shannon ever forgive David?
How much will Heather spend on her Mansion?

They throw in a few other dramatic highlights (Ryan sponging off his mom, Meghan "raising" her step-daughter, etc) but there are only 3 major story lines. And they're all wearisome.

Another forum I frequent suspects Vicki is in on the whole scheme. Some of her inconsistencies (saying she's been to chemo/doctor appts then not, saying Shannon offered her help, etc) make it seem like she has something to hide herself. She seems like a woman with too much to lose to be that stupid. My own opinion is that she is so manipulated and blinded by love that she believes Brooks and is in denial about all the fishiness of the situation. We know Vicki doesn't do well single and with her mother gone, I think she's too afraid to be alone. Especially with Briana in OK and Michael in San Diego. I know Vicki and Brooks are broken up now, but I suspect it's a result of Vicki coming across undeniable proof of Brooks being a fraud or him doing something to her directly.

I think Brianna doesn't believe he has cancer either. She made a comment when she and Vicki were arguing about being a nurse and that people with stage 3 cancer don't travel for work.

There's another instance of Vicki being a hypocrite this season that's been bugging me. Bravo asked her about airing the scene when she found out her mom died. She was on WWHL and I can't remember her exact words, but it was along the lines of "I signed up to be on a reality show and this is my reality. I can't just pick and chose which parts of my life to air". Remember how Brianna text her and asked her to call on a landline? That seemed obvious to me that Briana knew her mom was filming that night and was trying to keep it private. But it was Vicki's choice that it was aired on the show.

Then a couple of weeks ago, when Vicki was in Oklahoma and Briana was talking about staying in a hotel because of Brooks, what did Vicki do? Told Briana she couldn't believe Briana would say those things "on camera" and Vicki even called out the cameraman by name telling him to leave the room.

you are RIGHT!!!
Its almost like she wanted Bravo to film her going hysterical over the news of her Mom

But NOT film her DD staying in a hotel-and go ballistic over that!!????

as a newish grandma-NO WAY IN HECK would my kid and grandkids not be staying in my house-the BOYFRIEND would be leaving for a trip!!
