In the middle ear, pressure variations are converted to mechanical motion. Eardrum/tympanic membrane -> ossicles -> oval window/inner ear.

[Ossicles: hammer, anvil, stirrup.]

The eardrum transforms sound waves into vibrations. The ossicles transform vibrations into mechanical movements, which in turn vibrate the oval window.

This has been a study post.
