"Thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen. You know how bad my voice sounds. Well, it feels just as bad. You know, this baseball game of ours comes up from the youth. That means the boys. And after you're a boy and grow up to play ball, then you come to the boys you see representing clubs today in your national pastime. The only real game in the world, I think, is baseball. As a rule, people think that if you give boys a football or a baseball or something like that, they naturally become athletes right away. But you can't do that in baseball. You got to start from way down, at the bottom, when the boys are six or seven years of age. You can't wait until they're 14 or 15. You got to let it grow up with you, if you're the boy. And if you try hard enough, you're bound to come out on top, just as these boys here have come to the top now. There have been so many lovely things said about me today that I'm glad to have had the opportunity to thank everybody." - Babe Ruth

My sons, will be playing T-ball as soon as they're allowed to! Which, I think, is age 3 or 4. Then they'll move onto coach pitch when they're 6-8, then on to kids pitch when they're 9-12. Then they'll play baseball for their middle school, then for their high school, then for their college. Then, from there, they can decide if they want to play minor league to major league ball, or have a different career path. But until they graduate high school, they're playing baseball.

"Babe Ruth was the greatest baseball player that ever lived. I mean, people say he's less then a God, but more than a man. Like Hercules or something."- The Sandlot

DId you hear about Beltre? [His name is Beltre, right?]

Y'all mananged to claim Fat *** Papi, but not Beltre? Beltre turned down the RS's 10 million dollar offer. I'm guessing one year was just too much for him? LOL, he's a meanie!

[About Alex Rodriguez, when he didn't play for the Yankees. Forgot which team he played for.] "I'm Alex's biggest fan. I brag on him so much that my teammates are sick and tired of me talking about him. Last year we talked all the time, especially early in the season. We both knew if we didn't get off to a good start, we might be shipped out." - Derek Jeter

Of course, add another 30 Hr next year Papi!

"It doesn't matter if we were down 3-0. You've just got to keep the faith. The game is not over until the last out." -David Ortiz

He does have a point. Never lose faith...

"All ballplayers want to wind up their careers with the Cubs, Giants, or Yankees. They just can't help it." - Pitcher Dizzy Dean
