The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

Hi Princess!

I didn't fall off a cliff or drop off the face of the earth...how are you? I'll have to read your report and get caught up. :)

I am going to try and get the stamina up to write my trip report since I have been home now for almost 3 months since we left :) I'm not a slacker, I promise!

And as an update, I've decided not to move to Orlando at the present time. I am keeping that window open, but for the position I was interviewing for, it was hard to justify moving across the country and relocating. It was a hard decision but I feel good about it...and am planning my next trip! I was thinking that my sister and I would go next summer or spring break, since she graduates from high school this year.

Keep in touch! I have some GREAT cruise things I need to tell you about if you and family are still thinking about the cruise!

DWGAL!!!!! Welcome back to the DIS!!!!! I can't wait to hear all about your trip and the cruise!!! I hope you took lots of pics of the buffet tables! :goodvibes

I'm leaning heavily toward WDW for Halloween next year! No way I could swing it this time around but you know I've been debating over going for Halloween or Christmas in '09... And as much as I'd love to see it at Christmas I REALLY want to see it during Halloween! And how FUN for the kids!

So, you didn't really feel like you were in Florida?

Are you going to do a TR?
It was just like being in England except the rain was hot :rotfl2: And I see you've found my, well I should say my DD's, TR, she really wanted to write one so we're kind of doing a joint one, more her than me though :thumbsup2

It's fun for the adults, too! ;)

I did find it, and Jess is doing a fabulous job so far!

So, here are various random thoughts I wanted to share with everyone about our June trip.

We won't call them "Final Thoughts" because that would be admitting that the TR is over. I am not ready to say that yet.

Overall, 8 days and 7 nights allowed some breathing room on the trip although I am beginning to suspect that no stay will ever seem long enough!

Some Things Best Forgotten About the June Trip:
* My temper tantrum in Yak and Yeti!
* The hotel room door being open!
* Tornado warnings while we were headed into Animal Kingdom!

Some Things We Can Laugh About Now:
* Charles sleeping his first full day away after taking Benedryl!
* Connor's notorious Toy Story Mania moment!
* Chelsea's stickiness from a Dole Whip at Spectro Magic!
* Charles's mushroom fiasco at Kona Cafe!

Some Lessons Learned:
* Two days at each park would be ideal!
* Always Fast Pass Toy Story Mania!
* Don't try to change ADRs at the last minute -- there was a reason we didn't want to eat at Marrakesh before!

Saddest Moment on the Trip:
* Driving under the WDW sign as we left to head home!

The Most Magical Moments of Our Trip:
* Enjoying a drink poolside on our first night at Disney World!
* Meeting Darth Vader at Star Wars Weekend!
* Seeing the excitement on Connor's face when he spotted the Stormtroopers!
* The Cast Member giving Connor a pin at DHS!
* Sitting in the front row of Soarin'!
* Walking to breakfast in an empty Animal Kingdom!
* The kids getting their faces painted at AK!
* Pretending to be bats at the Maharajah!
* Playing all day in World Showcase!
* Watching Wishes with my family on a hot, sticky, summer night!

UP NEXT: Anyone want to see scrapbooks?;)

Great...ummm, not final thoughts. Can't wait to see the scrapbooks. :thumbsup2

It used to be that way at our house, so there's hope for you! :goodvibes

I seriously doubt it. Seeing as I'm the youngest kid out of 4, my parents were Disney'd out by the time I came around. They even got rid of all the Disney movies before I was old enough to watch and enjoy them cuz they were tired of watching them. :sad1: They said our first (and last) trip to Disney World was the end.

Yes, I would LOVE to see scrapbooks!

That was a great recap of the trip...you reminded me of things I had forgotten.

He has become quite funny about it -- I have a whole lot of stories that I am saving up for the next PTR whether it be one for October or the one for June.

Oooh... no fair teasing like that!

Good. Random thoughts are so much better than final thoughts. An October PTR will transition seamlessly...

I am beginning to suspect that no stay will ever seem long enough!

Probably not!

Great recap! I'd forgotten about the tornado and benadryl incidents. You have me laughing all over again. No laughing over the door incident, though! :headache:

UP NEXT: Anyone want to see scrapbooks?;)

Yes, please!

Great recap and of course we'd love to see scrapbooks!

Just curious......how many ADRs do you have for the "not so sure" Oct. trip?:rotfl:

and yes! Scrapbook please:cutie:

Hi Princess!

I just wanted you to know that I started my Completed Trip report today so you can find it in that area :) I'm going to start going through your 180+ pages tonight :)

Great thoughts. Do I want to see scrapbooks? That was rhetorical, right?:lmao:

Lovely lists! (Since they're not final thoughts and have bullets--LL will be so proud!)

Of COURSE we want to see scrapbooks!

I am SO glad, because that is exactly the length of stay we have for January! (And believe me, I'm considering adding on an extra day! LOL)

I am SO glad to know that Marrakesh is what I was afraid it would be... DH almost had me using an ADR for that!

UP NEXT: Anyone want to see scrapbooks?;)

Nah.

....LIKE YOU HAD TO ASK! :rotfl:

As the mother of 4 I hereby pledge to never become Disney'd Out so that all my children (youngest too!) can experience my complete lack of sanity whenever a mouse in red shorts is around... pirate:
