The Pursuit of Disney Magic (June 7-14, 2008) ~ UPDATED 9/30 pg. 191

I just found your PTR a few days ago and have been lurking since :goodvibes! I just felt compelled to post because I am so excited that your trip is so close! We live fairly close to WDW, but don't have a trip planned until December. So I plan to enjoy all the great pics I'm sure you'll take and just live vicariously through you! :rotfl2:

:welcome: I will definitely be taking lots of pics in a few days! Thanks for sharing in my excitement!!!

thanks for reminding me to copy down the times @HS for the shows etc...:)

I am thinking of trying the ziploc idea for the clothes, I think I could do it for Joey with out much problems, but not sure with the girls.. (we always tend to over pack b/c you just never know)

6 days!!! I am sure at some point we will come on over to PFQ and check out your pool too :)
I'll need to be on the look out for some lime green mickey heads :)
Note to self get to home depot and get some to add to our bag etc..:)

I am not even going to attempt the ziploc bags with Chelsea because I know what her reaction would be -- she's pretty good at packing for herself at this point so I am not rocking the boat.

We are planning on wandering over and checking out POR's pool, so between all the pool wandering, surely we will run into each other!!!

I love the ziploc bag idea for outfits. I am sure DF will look at me strange if I attempt this. :lmao:

:lmao:

I am limiting myself to just Connor's stuff -- I trust Charles, most of the time, to match his own clothes. Although, I do still choose and pack his clothes for him...just to be on the safe side!

I thought about this when I bought the smaller suitcase that recently made its appearance in my PTR. But then I realize I'm looking forward to the challenge of getting everything (all under 50lbs of it) in there:
clothes
shoes
toiletries
shoes
towel
shoes
and the partridge in the pear tree (pears included)

I'm still trying to find a way to FedEx myself to Jackie in order to make it into her suitcase in time.

You have 134 hours to figure it out.

We do have an extra seat in the mini-van that could easily be labeled with Tinkerbellerella. ::yes::

And I KNOW there's a Southern Belle (peach schnapps and other liquers that I can't think of at the moment) by the pool at POFQ with your name on it.

Target and getting ready for the trip.......

I KNOW IT! It's my favorite part of the waiting game -- that final trip to Target and packing, packing, packing. Although, as you can see, I haven't exactly been packing, packing, packing today.

Soon it will be bank day for spending money!!! :hyper:

How many Forever Stamps do you think it takes to mail a Tinkerbellarella?

I should send you a cardboard cut-out of myself just for that seat. Though I don't want to freak your kiddos out.

Ok, now you're just teasin' me woman! That sounds SOOOOO good.

Jackie...

I CAN'T believe I MISSED your post about the whole coming down a day early thing!!!?? Where have I BEEN? So what have you decided??

This is so funny b/c just the other night I thought well maybe I'll look at the flights for Saturday and we can fly down after DH gets off of work and spend the night close to the aiport and then still get back over to the airport in the am for the ME bus, I found something that would have been $106 for the night (which would still be less than gas etc) but unfortunatly the flights are not looking good that day either soo.... I think we crossed that idea of our list :(

:lmao:

That would entail math. I don't do math in the summer. :rotfl2:

You are talking about the kids that have currently made a fort in the dining room and are pretending they are Pop Tarts that have gone into hiding from children. I promise I really don't let them watch a lot of tv. :rotfl:

Doesn't it though. I want one poolside RIGHT THIS MINUTE!

We've tabled the idea for now. I may still go for it, but right now I am just focusing on getting everything done.

That's too bad about the flights for Saturday :(.

Seriously, if you can make all that fit I'm going to have to call you the Travel Goddess.

YUM!

I try not to do math. Ever. Which is funny, since I'm a bank teller.:rotfl2:

Okay, that's just cute.
I promise I really don't let them watch a lot of tv. :rotfl:
By TV, you mean mom's sanity, right?

Ahhhh, those were the days. :lmao:

I think this calls for a flat Tinkerbellarella for CP's trip. :thumbsup2

I hope to be by your thread tomorrow, but if I am not, please have a wonderful, magical trip!! I wish you tons of dreams and pixie dust! :wizard: And remember to look for us if you are in non park places!! It has been so much fun counting down with you!

The last thing I did, yesterday, as far as packing, was sort Connor's clothes into day-by-day stacks and put them into ziploc bags (thanks to all the people who did that before me -- I totally stole it from y'all).

:thumbsup2 This was one of the things I was so glad that I did. It was so nice to pull out a ziplock for each kid and already have sock, underwear and their clothes right there!

File this under the heading of "dumb" questions, but when you put the clothes in a ziploc, do they fit better in the suitcase if you roll them or keep them flat?

Typically we roll our clothes, but I'm always interested in what works for everybody else.:goodvibes

CP, I know you're busy, but I sooooooo could use your advice about Boma. I know you booked breakfast and dinner, but I have no idea where your post is about why. Obviously, you like it, but can you recap for me when you have time? No rush.:thumbsup2

I feel like they do--you can squeeze the air out so you can get them pretty flat--kind of the same idea with the space bags. And you can put each outfit in a bag with all the other items--socks, undies, etc. and just pull out one bag and go each day--very simple!

Do the clothes end up really wrinkled, or not so bad?

Not that bad--now keep in mind I only do this with Megan's clothing which is mainly knit cotton--everything looks pretty darn good if folded well before putting it into the bag!

Good point. I think DH would threaten to :moped: if I put his clothes in a Ziploc! :lmao: I'd just be doing this for my DS as well. It seems like it may save me some time when we get there.

Not so bad. Most days the kids clothes didn't need to be ironed. I did end up ironing my shirts most days. The problem with that was that I could never get the ironing board folded back up by myself. I always had to get David to do it! :lmao:

You know what the funny thing is? I never, ever iron at home. But for some reason, when I'm on vacation, and I pull one of my wrinkled shirts out to wear, I think...hmmm...let me iron this. Too funny.:lmao:
