I decided I would get up and hit a couple of yard sales near my house this morning. I'm always in the market for kid's clothing, and I'm specifically looking for some wooden furniture I can re-finish. Well what did I buy, a movie projector, that I have zero need for. So I spent $15 that I would not have spent if I stayed home, geez.

I know the feeling !

Does it work ?

Me too! I just spent $75 on a drum set for my daughter this morning. She does play percussion, but she already has a snare and didn't need a whole set--she's only been playing for a year! It just seemed like a good deal.

That's my problem with going to yard sales too! I will see stuff I totally do NOT need, but I totally want. Usually it is stuff that takes up too much room too.:rotfl:

As an ex-drummer (long story), I can tell you that this IS worth it. At a year, she's probably already bugging you for one, and $75 is an INSANELY good price. Now, you'd get bonus points if you said you're hiding it somewhere until Christmas, but at any rate, in the long run, you've almost definitely saved money.

And even if she quits a year from now, you can almost definitely sell it for at least $100 to the next family, even if it's not a great brand.

I played drums in middle school - 25 years ago - at that time $75 was a fantastic price, so I know today it is amazing! :) In fact, I saw a VERY VERY broken set at Goodwill about a month ago priced at $150 - it sold! :)
