Will Disney price a Lightning Pass single @$20 if they can sell 4 @$10 instead? I'm thinking the answer would be no. There's a sweet spot where the price will be just low enough to consistently sell out every time slot. With dynamic pricing, that cost-per-person can be on a sliding scale which can be adjusted up or down based on crowd size as well as length of the VQ/standby wait. But it will always be attractive enough to completely sell out.
You make a good point. I'm trying to withhold judgements until there is a formal announcement and see what onsite guests will be offered.
If I recall correctly Len was speculating a tier 1 FP during the busiest times could be $25pp. That's an extra $100 for a family of 4 for SDD, another $100 for TSM. That's hard to swallow for me since I would now be waiting in long standby lines, VQ/standby, or paying $200 for what would have been free in early 2020 with refreshing.
Yes WDW has an obligation to shareholders and things that used to be free like H2O toiletries are now being sold in the gift shops, I get it. Time marches on, but $200 for 2 rides on top of the gate, that's alot of magic the genie is going to have to provide.
I'm trying to stay positive, but the rumors are concerning. I'm sorry if it comes across as negative, but to say that an extra $200 per day in order to have an app tell me Muppets is a 10 minute wait is not going to be worth it. YMMV.
And if WDW is reading social media posts, all opinions should be considered.
