President Bush is to visit northwest Florida this coming Tuesday. He owes us a big "thanks" since it was the conservative panhandle of Florida which won the state for him.

The news media forgot we're an hour behind (and were still voting) the rest of Florida when they declared algore the winner.

I hope your banks have taken the necessary precautions - ;)

Damn, beat me to it. LOL!

Good luck, he was here yesterday and the east side of town was in total gridlock for two hours. Is your event also a registered
Republican only event? Ours was.

I'm not sure about that...I do know that you have to obtain tickets to get into the Civic Center where the rally will be held.

My father-in-law was to try and get us some tickets but the lines were horrendous. Haven't heard if he succeeded or not.

The local law enforcement was asked if they'd heard about the bank robberies. said they were prepared. we'll see.

Who could forget? This was unbelievable. They'd better keep their mouths shut this time until EVERYONE can get to the polls. After all, I'd hate for anyone to feel disenfranchised.

My understanding from what I heard on the news last week is that all of the President's rallies are invitation only that are handed out to the "party faithful". Guess I won't get an invitation if he travels up to Massachusetts ;)

I guess what I don't understand about the "invitation only" is how he is hoping to reach out to the "swing votes" that both he and John Kerry need to win this election. If those voters can't get into his rallies all they are hearing are the "sound bites." It bothers me that he is unwilling to "open" his rallies and speak to all of the voters. It's all a little too "staged" for me.

I agree....I guess he's only the President to some Americans.
So much for his claim of "inclusiveness".

I know I certainly wouldn't meet the guidelines of being worthy to attend.

we've got four tickets. no stipulation on who can come. tickets were given out at a local radio station and a local restaurant.

This event will be open to anyone.

Stevenpensacola, did you go to the Fish House to get your tickets?

The event is OPEN to ANYONE. All you have to do is wait in line and get a ticket.

I stand corrected.............. the event is open to anyone but may I ask if you had to give your name , address and e-mail address in order to obtain tickets? I noticed on the website for one of the Pensacola newspapers it stated that you could pick up 4 tickets for yourself and tickets for others but you had to provide that information. I assume you needed to give name, address and e-mail as well. Guess you'll be hearing from the Republican National Committee soon. ;)

The event is OPEN to ANYONE.

That's sad when it's that impressive that ANYONE attend a public political rally for the President of the United States.

That ought to be a given, not an exception.

Besides, If I'm not mistaken you do have to give identifying information about yourself. They'll at least know who you are.

Why do you have to have tickets? If it were truly open to anyone, they'd just let you walk in as long as the venue wasn't filled to capacity.

Guess you'll be hearing from the Republican National Committee soon.

That and they can just take a quick look and see and make sure you're not one of those "undesirables".

All of the info must be provided for security reasons. Kind of a no brainer... don't you think?

Undesirables? So we now can identify terrorists by their appearance alone? DHS may be very interested in speaking with you.

I did not stand in line for tickets. I could care less if I see the President. A friend of mine stood in line and got 4 tickets. The only info she had to give was her name and address. Guess what!!!! She is not a republican.
