The Port Report: Frumpin Around the World with the Bathrobe Princesses :) COMPLETE

Hooray that Vickie was feeling a little bit better...at least until It's a Small World. That bumpy loading dock is kinda ridiculous. My sister and I always put our hands up and pretend that we're on a thrill ride. The people waiting normally laugh at us.

I love that the wait signs can display a question mark. I mean, when would that ever be necessary? Why even build something with that capability? :confused3

Mmmmmmmm Your Dole Whip looks delish. It's so yellow and Dole Whip-y.

AH! Eeyore's house is in the new Pooh queue!?! You can guarantee that I will be posing for that exact picture in July, Kristen. :rotfl:

I LOVE the Main Street area music. I always sing along to the songs from "Hello Dolly".

Mmmmmmmm Chocolate croissant. I really need to go eat dessert now. LOL.

I completely agree. That bus voice man is way too energetic for that late at night. They should have done a special evening recording where he just whispers and tells us we'll be back in our nice, comfy beds momentarily or something.

:rotfl2: This part just had me bust out laughing! It's so true! That guy always has a lot of energy. :rotfl:

hahahaha I'm so glad you found that funny. i laughed when i wrote it as well :rotfl:

Loving this TR keep the updates coming. Yall are too cute.

Thank you so much :yay:

Jess - great shot of you and your mom in front of the castle! (I might need to pick up the 40th anniversary sweatshirt!)
Glad that Vicki felt well enough to enjoy some of MK!

haha aww thank you! And yes you should get it! It's super cute and really comfortable!
And yes, unfortunately she didn't get to stay all night. But we went back to MK later on our trip so it all worked out!

Great update again.

I know exactly what you mean about staying for evening EMH. They're so much fun, but once you get on the bus back to your resort, it's all over from there!

Thank you!
And aww I know! They're great. The aftershock of lack of sleep in Disney is a little rough, but it's so worth it!

great update!!!

You guys did a ton of things for PM EMH. It's great being able to do the late EMH since you are able to hop from ride to ride. I would be sad if SM was closed too!!!

Thanks! And yes it was an extremely productive night! And yes, it was so sad :sad1: That just means we'll have to go back when it's open!

Hooray that Vickie was feeling a little bit better...at least until It's a Small World. That bumpy loading dock is kinda ridiculous. My sister and I always put our hands up and pretend that we're on a thrill ride. The people waiting normally laugh at us.

hahaha I'm so glad that someone else finds it bumpy too! I never noticed until that day. But that's funny. I think next time Kristen and I go we will have to do that!! :rotfl2:

I love that the wait signs can display a question mark. I mean, when would that ever be necessary? Why even build something with that capability? :confused3

Oh I know! I never saw that before... it was so strange!

Mmmmmmmm Your Dole Whip looks delish. It's so yellow and Dole Whip-y.

Oh it was sooo good :lovestruc I want one now.

I LOVE the Main Street area music. I always sing along to the songs from "Hello Dolly".

Aww I have never been in or seen Hello Dolly, but the day that I recognize the music, I will be singin along to that too! I wonder what other musicals they feature on Main Street! I should figure that out.

Mmmmmmmm Chocolate croissant. I really need to go eat dessert now. LOL.

Haha me toooo. Dessert is amazing. That Main Street Bakery is a dangerous place. There's too many amazing things to choose from.

I completely agree. That bus voice man is way too energetic for that late at night. They should have done a special evening recording where he just whispers and tells us we'll be back in our nice, comfy beds momentarily or something.

Now that would be nice. i'm surprised Disney hasn't thought of that yet.

My laptop is being dumb right now and won't let me quote stuff, so bear with me Kara.

HAHAHA I would definitely do something like that on IASW....in fact I think I have!

I have no idea why they have question marks...maybe it's to tell us that they don't really know how long the wait will be?? :confused3Dole Whips are the frumpiest dessert ever...yet so delicious. :lovestruc

Hahaha you should take a pic with Eeyore's house for sure!! I love Eeyore he's one of my faves! :goodvibes I got so excited when I saw his little house in the new queue!!! :thumbsup2 I was gonna do a gloomy face in that pic but I was too excited to wipe the smirk off my face!! :yay:

Hahaha I love to sing along on Main Street, but Jess was getting a LITTLE obnoxious with Iowa Stubborn that night. It was funny though.

I really need to go eat dessert now.

I feel like I say this about every five minutes, especially in Disney World. :rotfl2:

Oh that bus voice is SO loud! You never realize it until it's 2 AM after MK EMH. :lmao: There I was, just drifting off to sleep (even though there is absolutely NO SLEEPING IN DISNEY WORLD!! :rotfl:) But hey, like my mom always says, "I make the rules, I can break them if I want!" Anyways, I was so close to falling asleep and Jess was like "This music is so relaxing" In a very relaxing voice mind you, and then....HELLO EVERYONE!!! No. Shhhhh Mr. Talking Bus Man, I am sleeeeeeepinggg. :rotfl:

"I am sleeeeeeeeeepingggg" said in the Michelle Tanner voice from Full house. :lmao:

Great updates....sounds like you had a great time...except for poor Vicki...nothing worse than being sick in WDW!

When we went last Jan/Feb I was so sad that SM was closed...even though it was freezing I still missed riding it.

Great homage to Toontown!!!!!

I remember when we used to be able to stay out during EMH til 2 in the morning. We always had the best times then, staying til the last minute, outlasting everyone else and riding all the best rides again and again. And then falling asleep on the bus ride home.

Good call, skipping rope drop the next morning. :thumbsup2

I started reading a bit late, but I wanted to tell you I'm really enjoying your TR! Looks like you guys had a great time! :goodvibes

I was very excited to see this picture! DBF and I stayed at the Yacht Club back in December, and our room was right down the hall from this staircase. I loved it there!

We're glad you're here! And aww isn't Yacht Club amazing!? I really really loved it there. I wish I could just live there :lovestruc

Hey! Just found you TR and read the whole thing. LOVE everything so far!!! You girls are cracking me up. I love the bathrobe singing princesses and the definition of Frump! I definitely have frump moments. The pictures of Yacht Club are so pretty. Our home resort is Beach Club and it is our favorite. We love everything about it, stormalong bay, walk to Epcot and Hollywood studios, the entertainment of boardwalk right across the lake. Can not wait to read more!!!

I loved your Toon Town tribute.
The pic that your used for your FB profile was adorable!
I hate that Vickie was not feeling good. I hope whe was able to enjoy the rest of the trip.
I always seem to read TR's when I'm hungry. I'm starving over here & your chocolate crossaint pic does not help!!!

I want to see pics of the gryffendor scarfs & cute boys

Great update!! You three gals are honestly the cutest, why do I need to say that every time I post!!! Because you ARE!! :rotfl::rotfl: I love the tribute to ToonTown, I have to think of a way to print all of those pictures off. we go every trip, and the mailboxes are our 'place' to take the progression in height pics. Ok ok my kids are teenagers now but so what I love ToonTown with my girls. :sad1: so sad it is gone.
Also do you know what they did for Vick in first aid? I get at least one day of motion sickness every trip, the last trip was the worst, and I never thought to go there. So if they have some magic back there I would love to know in case it happens again. The smallest things make me sick, one trip it won't then I do it next time and forget it!!

Ok can't wait to read more!! Your TR is so full of energy it makes me even more excited for my trip!!! :)

I'm joining in even though it's a bit late! :) I came over from Kara's TR. Looks like you girls had a fun trip so far :goodvibes

Hi Jess,

I followed you over from my PTR, and I am loving your TR!!! I especially loved your bathrobe princess experience. You girls can really sing too! I hate that Vickie got sick and had to miss the MK evening, I hope she felt better for the rest of your trip. I can't wait to read more. popcorn::

I'm really enjoying your PTR! :thumbsup2 I love the "question of the day," those are great! :goodvibes

The bathrobe princesses experience is my favorite memory of Disney World. :wizard: It was so much fun! :) And thanks! We all love to sing! :rolleyes1 LOL.

Vickie did end up feeling better for the rest of the trip, so no worries. :goodvibes

I'm sure Jess will have a new update for ya'al soon!popcorn::

Chapter 19 - We're Singin' in the Rain
January 17th, 2011

So, it was decided the night before that Rope Drop would be skipped this morning. Of course, we do that on the day of Hollywood Studios... but then again I've never made it for a Hollywood Studios Rope Drop. I always plan this park so late in my trip that I'm too tired to get up in the morning. Oh well!

I woke up at 8:54 am and realized I should probably stop being lazy and get going! So, I took a shower, got ready, and woke up the other girls at 9:35. They were just so sleepy! The good news, though, is that Vickie was feeling all better! No no more sickness in Disney! Hooray!

So, once they got up, we looked out the window. And guess what. It was POURING rain. POUR-ING. That wasn't going to stop us, but still. I hate bad weather.

We went to breakfast and I got a croissant, yogurt, and oatmeal. I just love that Club Level Lounge.

We realized that the rain still wasn't letting up, so we gave in. We bought the 7 Dollar Disney Ponchos. But hey... they were actually kinda precious. So, it's alright. We needed them on a day like today. Mother got an umbrella too. That's when you knew this was serious weather.

After our purchases, we went out to brave the storm. We went to catch the boat for Hollywood Studios, but as we were making our way there, a boat pulled away from the dock. Darn.

Look! It's the Fish!

So, we waited 10 minutes and then another boat was there to take us to the park!

We got to Hollywood Studios and it was pouring so hard, I can't even describe it. Seriously, if I did not have that poncho, it would have looked like I jumped in a pool with my clothes on. It was terrible.

So, Mother went to go grab us Toy Story Mania Fastpasses. The rest of us headed over to the American Idol Experience because Vickie and I considered trying out. But, we decided not to. So we went on the Great Movie Ride instead. Our guide was a Frump with pig-tail braids. And we got the Gangster side. As usual.

After, we met up with Mother at The Writer's Shop. That is honestly one of the cutest spots in Disney. It's like a Disney-fied Panera Bread! PERFECTION! My Mom fell in love with that place.

And since we're Dis-er's, we had to try the Carrot Cake Cookie. Let me say - wonderful recommendation! :) It was delicious!

Then, after a little contemplation on what to do next, Vickie and I decided to try out for Idol after all. Why the heck not? You're only gonna be in Disney with your friends so many times in your life. So might as well try out together!

smaller1.jpg

So, we checked in, and Vick and I went in the audition room. The girl in there was named Nicki, and she was SO nice. What an angel.

I sang "American Honey" by Lady Antebellum, and Vick sang "Stronger" by Faith Hill.

So the results?

Nicki said that I had a very nice voice, but they were looking for more of the "trills" and "pop" sounding voice that morning. She said, believe it or not, 12:30 pm is actually late in the day for Idol Auditions at the parks. And they look for people who fit certain voice parts so they have a variety in the show. She said if I would have come earlier in the day, there probably would have been a spot for me in the "prettier" voice section, as opposed to rock, country, or pop sounding.

But the best part was that she said I had a "princess-sounding" voice. princess: I told her I really wanted to be one, and she said "Oh you're beautiful, you could be a princess!" Yeah, that basically made my life.

So, as for Vickie, Nicki let her through! Vickie has an AMAZING voice, and she actually tried out for the real American Idol last season with her voice studio! She unfortunately didn't make it there, but she moved on to the second round for this show!

Sadly, Vick's voice was feeling a little scratchy that morning. But she still proceeded. I got to stay with her, and she had to pick two songs to sing for the next judge. She picked "Bubbly" by Colbie Callait and "Our Song" by Taylor Swift. She used the microphone and everything in the next room.

The next judge was also very nice, but he told Vickie that he could tell that she was "vocally fatigued." Since it was this late in the day, he didn't really have a spot for her. That was fine, because Vick didn't really feel like being in the show anyway. However, the experience of just trying out was awesome for us!

smaller2y.jpg

Vickie's prize for getting to the second round of American Idol was a Fastpass for any ride in Hollywood Studios that was good for up to four people! So it was definitely worth it!

After our audition we went back to the Writer's Shop to meet up with Kristen and Mother, who were enjoying themselves in their new favorite little spot.

OMG. Writer's Stop= BEST PLACE EVER!!! :yay: Seriously, I am in LOVE with that place. I curled up on a big comfy chair with my Disney Parks history book and my carrot cake cookie, seriously, life does not get much better than that. :cloud9: PERFECT place to go on a rainy day. :)

Oh, and we're just oh so cute in those ponchos...uhh..not. :p Hahaha my mom laughed and laughed when she saw that picture. I always told her I would never give into the seven dollar poncho...and then I did. She wishes she would have been there to see it in person. :lmao: I braved the poncho. It's kinda cute...in a totally unflattering way.... :rotfl2:
