The Port Report: Frumpin Around the World with the Bathrobe Princesses :) COMPLETE

great update!!!!

I think I had Mark when I went with friends in Oct! If so, he was great to us too!!!! He put a kid in timeout and put them up against the wall with a sugar packet on his nose because he was texting at the table!

I got the same exact thing that you got!! My mom would have gotten the same as what your mom got!

Edit..I knew we had Mark!!!

50's Prime Time is something I'm looking forward to on our trip! It looks like soooooo much fun and I can't wait to try the fried chicken and I hope they let us do Milkshakes on the DDP!

Moonie#2 here: I am SOOOO excited for 50s Prime Time!! Probably one of the things I'm looking forward to the most. I've heard so many good things about the atmosphere here! <3

That looks like a really fun meal! You all were very kind to enjoy Sophia's knock knock jokes. I can't stand knock knock jokes. :headache: I'm going to have to work on building up my tolerance for when my boys start to get them.

Love your PT meal -- and the time-out for texting, twice!! Way too funny.:rotfl2:

I just wanted to let you all know that I started a new trip report about my Family Trip from February! So, if you would like to follow along with that one as well, I'd love to have you :)

It's called:

"She's Looking at Food Pictures Again!" ★ A February Family Vacation!

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What a fun meal :) That is a must do for my mom and I every time we go 2 disney :) What's really funny is that you and kristen got the exact same thing I ALWAYS get when I go to that restaraunt. My even get the chocolate shake and smores as well, which I guess bares the most resemblence to what kristen got. My mom gets the chicken pot pie like your mom does 2. I laughed out loud when I read about vicki's time out. I'm glad my waiter never caught me texting tis past trip. I'm sure i would have been in trouble. My mom one time when we were there had to go stand in the corner and put her nose to the wall one trip. Surprisingly enough I never got in trouble that trip (The waiter I guess really liked me). Can't wait to hear more.

Aww I know isn't it great!? I was stuck on this restaurant for so long... it's a favorite! And haha isn't that a delicious meal?! It's ooo good. And hahaha oh Vick's time out. So funny. Yes, you gotta be very careful when you're in there! Any wrong move can end up getting you sent to the corner!

Yum! What a fun meal at 50's PTC! I need to go back there again because I'm salivating at the milkshakes and your mom's chicken pot pie!

That's so funny Vicki got put in time-out because she was texting :rotfl: We haven't been in trouble yet, the worst we had to do was set the table

Haha yes you should go back! It is delicious and lots of fun!
And oh boy, you should definitely go back if that's all you had to do! If you get a very animated waiter, you will have lots of funny things to do during the whole meal!

great update!!!!

Thank you! And yes, wasn't he awesome!? I think people getting in timeout just happens when he's the waiter :lmao:
And aww those are the best two meals there are!!

Awesome update:goodvibes

Prime Time Cafe always looks like such a fun restaurant, definitely one I can't wait to try on a future trip.

Too funny about Vicki being put in time out, and the food looks delicious.

I'm on my way to read your other TR!

SO CUTE! Love the TR, Subbing & excited for more! :)

Thank youu! I'm so glad you found us! :thumbsup2

Hi  decided to come out of lurkdom and comment on this great TR!! :thumbsup2

Have loved reading it so far - sounds like you had a great time! Thanks for sharing what a 'frump' is - have learnt another new thing on these boards! :goodvibes

Club level sounds awesome and yay on all the character interaction you guys got - love the Mary Poppins and Snow White funny liners.

You guys sound hilarious and yay on being brave enough to sing at B&C - don't think I would have done that. However, I do not have the singing voices you guys have. Also sounds like you had a great experience auditioning for American Idol.

Am glad Vicki was feeling better again after getting sick and love all your meal reviews.

Look forward to reading more :)

Chapter 21 - The Frumpiness of Disney Animation
January 17th, 2011

After lunch, we headed over to Muppet Vision.

This is one of Kristen's favorite attractions. She basically spazzed out.

Muppet Vision + Kristen = Frump Fest.

:rotfl:

While we were in Muppet Vision, we were matching all of the characters' personalities with our friends from home. It was really amusing.

As far as our own personal characters, I was Kermit, Vickie was Miss Piggy, and Kristen was Gonzo/Bean/The Blue Bug/The Penguins/The Harry Brown Scary Looking one that walks out with a flash light. (all of the frumps)

dsc05428c.jpg

And we deemed Vickie's boyfriend, Dan, Sam the Eagle because he is patriotic. (actually, not really... but I just sort of picked it for him because i thought it was funny :lmao:)

After Muppet Vision, we took a few pictures in the Streets of America.

Ah an umbrella... reminds me of our rainy morning. Thankfully the rain stopped by the afternoon! At least it scared all of the Martin Luther King Day crowds away!

Coca Cola!

dsc05433p.jpg

After our photoshoot, Mother was getting a little tired. So she went back to the Yacht Club while we stayed at the park. She said that it was about a mile walk from Hollywood Studios to Yacht Club. So she got some exercise!

Once she left, we looked in the Toy Story gift shop. And then we headed over to the Magic of Disney Animation!

dsc05435z.jpg

We skipped the Mushu movie, although I do love that frumpy film. Instead we went straight to the characters!

First we met Sorcerer Mickey.

img2540nb.jpg

Then Handy Manny (Vick was too cool to meet him).

dsc05437u.jpg

And Lotso!

dsc05439q.jpg

The cast member working near Lotso was actually from Santa Maria, California, which is where Kristen's Dad is from! Cool stuff.

The queue area for Lotso is ADORABLE! It's so well themed. Probably one of the best character greeting areas ever. Too bad Lotso is evil ):

img2541y.jpg

We also saw Mr. Incredible and Frozone!

Next, we took the "What Disney Character Are You?" quiz and we all got Tinkerbell.

87583441.jpg

What a great variety of results.

We got in line for the drawing class and waited like 10 minutes.

img2545yt.jpg

When we went in, there was hardly anyone there! Most of the first row and some of the second row was filled and that was it!

The instructor was really cool and she let us vote on which character we wanted to draw! She gave us options, and we picked Winnie the Pooh! He is so cute!!

The animator told us the story of Pooh Bear. Winnie the Pooh was actually a real black bear in a zoo. Christopher Robin, a real boy, would visit him. Christopher Robin named his own stuffed animal Winnie the Pooh after that special black bear. His father, A. A. Milne, wrote stories about Christopher Robin and his stuffed animal's adventures. Then, Walt Disney purchased the idea and animated/disney-fied it.

You just learn so many great things when you go to Disney World! Who would have known?!

Here are the results of our drawings. Not bad, not bad!

We walked out of the studio and RIGHT there was Mary Poppins standing with two penguins. Kristen spazzed. Again. That was seriously awesome timing!

dsc05448g.jpg

And then when we walked into the gift shop to exit the building, Kristen found a piece of art she would like to hang in her future home.

What a great adventure in The Magic of Disney Animation!

Also, if you didn't catch this update a few posts back, I wanted to let you all know that I started a new trip report about my Family Trip from February! So, if you would like to follow along with that one as well, I'd love for you to join me! :)

It's called:

"She's Looking at Food Pictures Again!" ★ A February Family Vacation!

Nice update! I love the character pics! The drawing class is always a blast and free too which is awesome!

What awesome character pictures you guys ended up with, and your drawings of Pooh all turned out fantastic...I always think the drawings a such an awesome souvenier to get to take home.

Can't wait for more:goodvibes

Great updates! The 50's Prime Time is one of my absolute favorites!

So sad that Vickie had to misbehave though and get herself in a time out! I will have to remember not to text at the table when there.

DHS looks so empty! Hooray for seeing all those characters! Did Lotso smell like strawberries? ;) The Splash Mountain drawing is really cute. Disney Animation's gift shop has so many awesome prints I'd love to purchase.

Love all the character pics! I don't know if I've ever seen a picture with Mary Poppins and the Penguins before. That's pretty cool. :cool1:

The Winnie the Pooh books by A A Milne are wonderful. It's very interesting to read the original stories.

AH! I kinda want to go into the Art of Animation now! All those sketches look AMAZING! :cheer2: And the Street of America makes my fingers itch for my camera. 20 Days! I can't wait!!!

You guys all did a great job on your drawings of Pooh! That class looks like fun, I haven't been to the Animation Academy in years, since it was the old format and the animators actually working there!

Oh, and the big hairy Muppet with the flashlight is Sweetums! :goodvibes

OH MY GOSH. I've missed TWO updates...I feel so behind!

Yay! 50's Prime Time! I've never been there before, but we have a lunch reservation for our trip in July. I'm so excited to try it! I really wanna try the Pot Roast and that Brownie Sundae. Yummmmm. Oh and a chocolate milkshake, of course!

:rotfl: My sister is totally going to get put in time out for texting at the table. She can barely set her phone down to take a bite of food, let alone an entire meal. It shall be quite entertaining for the rest of us.

I love that you were matching up Muppets with your friends from home. My friends and I were actually doing that the other night, except with characters from Winnie the Pooh. I'm Piglet because I'm afraid of just about everything...minus making a fool out of myself. For some reason, I'm not afraid of that.

I LOVE the Magic of Disney Animation. I could take the drawing classes all day. All of your Poohs are adorable! ...And that would sound really disturbing if taken out of context. :lmao:

I fell behind, but you know I'm here reading  I remember when you were texting me how bad the rain was and that you bought ponchos!

Great 50's update. Too funny Vicki kept getting put in time-out.
I love the picture of you girls with the umbrella. And, your Pooh picture turned out really good!
I need to check out your 2nd TR. I'm impressed that you're able to keep up with 2 TR's. I'm having a hard time keeping up with my one!
