I enjoy it. It's just a small cafe-type setting with various sandwiches. Of course, since it is right next to the ice cream parlor they have great deserts. My favorites are thier Reuben and the verticle banana split
You also get a great view of the castle while you dine, and it's normally pretty easy to get in there.
I was there last month & I enjoyed the food. Also it's very easy to get an ADR there, because my family & I made one the day we got at WDW, so it's not going to fill up very fast like Crystal Palace or CRT.
We've eaten there and really enjoyed it. I had the chicken & strawberry salad and it was very good. Other family members ordered sandwiches & were very pleased. Desserts are also good there. The restaurant isn't very big but it's very nice. Service was good on both our visits there.
I had the chicken and strawberry salad and it was delcious. My DD loved the mini hamburgers, and we both had the unicycle for dessert. Great place for lunch.
We are fans also, however when we ate here a few weeks back, we had a disappointing meal. Could just have been that day, since normally we have been pleased. We ordered the tuna on the croissant and it was very fishy, dark tuna - not the white tuna listed on the menu!
DD had the rueben, which she said was delicous! And as others have mentioned, the sundaes are good.
I know you were considering the Dining Plan a few months back... you should know that the Plaza Restaurant is among those having the least "bang for the buck" on the Dining Plan. That's probably why we read so little about it these days, along with the fact that it is relatively small. (It might, however, be a good reason to aim for it if you're not on the Dining Plan! )
We must have been one of the only ones to have had a not so great experience there.. Our castmember was very slow and I thought not happy in her job....food was mediocre at best. We went there on all the recommendations we had read on the boards...I will say that they have the tables so close together that you cannot help but hear the conversations on both sides of you. I tried it once, I will not go back, I would prefer to eat counter service and have a hot dog at Casey's then to eat at this restaurant..........but this is my opinion and my husbands, we were both disappointed.
It was this past year...maybe last January....the funny part was the server was from MA, we could not get her to smile no matter how we tried to warm her up.
I am of the school that if I go once and it is not good, I may never go back.. I might at some point, but there are so many other good places to eat I figure why should I.....and we went on the recommendations on this board..
Main Street USA, at the very end, before the hub, on the opposite side of the street from Casey's. It's on one of the paths towards Tomorrowland Terrace.
