The Pirates and the Frog (7/17 Welcome to the Next Adventure!)

Hi ALL7OFUS! You are moving again!?!?! Were are you headed now???

Yes! We are moving AGAIN!! But this move was anticipated a long time ago, even before we moved to where we are now, which is Portland, OR. My DH's family has long lived in Salem, and own a beautiful home on the Willamette River which has been in our family for several generations. If the Lord wills it, we will buy this home permanently, but with a step of faith are moving in in 2 weeks and renting if from Dad until my hubby finds a job. Being that he does NOT have a job yet, it is possible that we will have to move out again if he can't find work within an hour commute. Please lift us up as we make this transition.

Yeah, but the snowstorm heading this way is a day late! After all, don't you want to be snowed in on Mikemas already? :santa: party:

Don't worry Boxmaster - we only get snowed in when you come to visit!

:santa: Merry Christmas & Happy Belated Birthday!!!

I'm all caught up again. We did not have that great a meal at Shutters either, we were stuck there during Hurricane Francis a few years back & from your experience, sounds like it hasn't gotten any better :confused3 You'd think they'd be doing something about that, I think overall WDW does a pretty good job with their restaurants but this one has been overlooked :rolleyes1

Loved the pic's at Crystal Palace. I think that is one of the "funnest" places to dine in all of WDW, right up there with Chef Mickey's in my book  Glad to see your little princess has a fun birthday celebration there. That's where I celebrated my birthday this year too :woohoo:

After seeing your Nov 1 pic's, that is definantely the time to be at WDW it seems! One of these days I think we're going to have to book the MNSSHP and plan to be there after Halloween.

Looking forward to more popcorn::

Nov 1st is DEFINITELY the time to go - it was the perfect MNSSHP - but that's a bit later on.
Stay tuned...

Good luck in the move.
Think Disney thoughts!!

Hi everyone! I hope you all had a Happy, Merry Christmakwanzakkah!!! We've had a lovely holiday break so far! In fact, DH and the kids are watching one of our favorite Disney Holiday movies right now! Any guesses??

At this point in our TR I just had to pipe in to pay special tribute to the Fairy Godmother. Did you see the picture of her with DD?? In her beautiful shimmery blue robes and that GIANT pink bow??

Well, when the kids are all grown and these two Disney Fanatics retire to WDW, I WANT HER JOB!!! I think I would make a fabulous Fairy Godmother- don't you? :cutie:

I keep trying to convince the family to do Cinderella for Halloween one year so that I can be the Fairy Godmother but the guys just won't go for it! :sad1:
Sigh.

Nice try Mom.
But you would look cute in that Fairy Godmother bow.. :goodvibes

I gathered me crew and we headed towards the Grotto at the far end of this Land.
In hindsight, this would be a tale of legend as this Grotto has since disappeared.
The Mouse works in mysterious ways.

We neared the entrance and X took off.
He decided to laugh in the face of danger and dance throughout the grotto squealing with delight!
Disney2009Pirates562-001.jpg

Disney2009Pirates562.jpg

Not to be undone, our First Mate joined the fray.
He literally flew into the Grotto as jets of water sprayed from all sides
Disney2009Pirates563-001.jpg

Their distraction served its purpose and I grabbed the Pirate Princess and we made our way deeper into the grotto.
The Fair Maiden, on the other hand, was the Lookout.
And whom did she spy but an evil stepmother and her daughters wandering by…
Disney2009Pirates564a.jpg

Nevertheless, the ruse worked.
Me and me princess ventured deeper into the caverns of the villainous mermaids.
Me lady was not scared though – dressed in her new attire, she pranced along and even sidled up to the scenery adorning the walls
Disney2009Pirates565.jpg

Strewn about the darkened tunnels were artifacts and treasures of long ago so my pirate sense grew keen searching for dubloons.
Beyond the starfish and seaweed, we discovered gemstones and even statues…
Disney2009Pirates566.jpg

Deeper and deeper we ventured into the mysterious caverns until we approached an opening.
And then me Princess lit up – much like the smile of our First Mate in the presence of the Silly Ol’ Bear.
Disney2009PiratesPass242.jpg

There, sitting a rock and flapping her tail was the legendary mermaid princess of Atlantica.
It was she who inspired me princess to aspire to royalty.
Me little one jumped onto the rock and began showing her new attire to the mermaid.
Her skirt was lined with starfish and made in beautiful sea tones.
Disney2009Pirates567.jpg

As for her top, the Pirate Princess had just seen a tribute to Ariel on Broadway and was wearing the souvenir shirt she had plundered.
Disney2009Pirates568.jpg

Then, I began to take portraits of the two princesses hand-in-hand...
Disney2009Pirates569.jpg

Disney2009Pirates570.jpg

Disney2009PiratesPass248.jpg

Of course, the royalty could not part without a hug good-bye…
Disney2009Pirates571.jpg

Disney2009PiratesPass256.jpg

And with that, we began our ascent from the grotto pausing only to rest by some pastel seaweed and the Mermaid’s guardian crab…
Disney2009Pirates572.jpg

We located the rest of our crew who were already drenched from playing in the grotto and heading off for our next adventure.
And this time – it’s something me crew has never experienced before!
Any guesses?

We surfaced from the depths of Atlantica and moved on to our next mission.
This time we be joining the landlubbers in the mines.
But first, we noticed a lonely elephant sitting by himself.
You see, his pack of pachyderms was flying nearby.
Yes, matey, I did say flying – if you could believe it.
Well, me crew took a ride on these flying beasts last time we ventured to these here parts and had decided a return trip was not necessary.
So, rather than flying, we decided to stop and pose with the lonely little one:
First, I approached the beast with X while the Fair Maiden and the rest of the crew headed to the latrines.
Disney2009Pirates573.jpg

You can see how drenched X was from exploring the depths of the seas in the Grotto.
A nice passerby suggested I join the little scallywag and so I did.
Disney2009Pirates574.jpg

Then we headed off for our next mission – you see, our crew decided to part ways at this point in our adventure.
Sure enough, great minds think alike as me Maiden happened to stop by this same lonely beast on their way back from the latrines.
Disney2009Pirates575.jpg

Then they headed to something new – a region none of them had explored before.
Disney2009Pirates576.jpg

And to prove they were brave enough to venture forth despite the warnings, here is me crew bound for parts unknown!
Disney2009Pirates576-001.jpg

Inside it started off slow with a simple wishing well…
Disney2009Pirates576-002.jpg

But then it turned into one memorable quest.
When they finally returned, the reports were all the same.
“That ride was freaky!!!”

Meanwhile, X and I had stopped for snacks.
And for some reason even the snacks we chose “freaked” out me crew.
I really wonder what vile sorcery was in that dreadful place.
After all, X only took one bite out of a simple apple... ;)
Disney2009Pirates576-003.jpg

Further into this Land of Fantasy, I noticed odd things all around.
Like, how about this building being overtaken by some sort of growth?
Give me a sharp machete and I’d trim that one!
Disney2009Pirates577.jpg

But despite the magicks all around us, we regrouped at a simple horse stall – one guarded by mice that is.
Disney2009Pirates578.jpg

Heed this tale well as the powers that be have since renamed this enchanted stable.
Enchanted says I!
You see we climbed aboard the horses that were stationed here with a mind to plunder them for our adventures.
Disney2009Pirates579.jpg

However, before we could, they took off with minds of their own!
With lightning speed they galloped in circles in the center of this Land of Fantasies.
Disney2009Pirates580.jpg

X had to hold on with everything he had so he wouldn’t be thrown!
But he had a blast as you can see here…
Disney2009Pirates581a.jpg

Disney2009Pirates584.jpg

Things apparently are not what they seem in this magical place.
To catch our wits, we decided to take in the theatre.
Join us as we get another dose of Magic – I believe they call it Philharmagic!

After the magical carrousel, we decided to lounge a bit and take in the theatre.
Disney2009Pirates586.jpg

We entered the lobby and wondered what was playing tonite.
We pirates aren’t much for the fancy operas and such but hoped for a good tale or two.
We were handed these odd glasses and weren’t sure what to think of them but we figured we’d give ‘em a try.
Disney2009Pirates585-001.jpg

Disney2009Pirates585-003.jpg

And then we were seated.
We heard voices, the screen opened, and we were thrust into a magical performance – the likes of which we had never seen!
Sights, sounds, smells – all around us.
We were totally immersed by some spell.
Creatures appeared and were chased by a duck as they sang – mermaids, lions, Arabian knights, and then we saw him.
That evil boy that terrorizes pirates and his fairy henchman.
That gave me an idea….

The show finished and we were mesmerized – definitely a favorite among me crew.
But as the duck looked down from the ceiling, I had my sights set on a new mission – Avenge the Hook!
Disney2009Pirates585-004.jpg

We crossed the Land of Fantasies and headed toward the outskirts.
Once there, a latrine stop was necessitated once again and our Princess demanded a scenic picture.
Disney2009Pirates587.jpg

Once we regrouped, however, it was time to cash in our bounty.
I grabbed the Passes of Fast I obtained earlier and we headed toward avenging the dismemberment of one our Pirate Icons.
Disney2009Pirates589.jpg

We bypassed all the silly patrons and stormed the boats.
Disney2009Pirates593.jpg

Disney2009Pirates590.jpg

The boys in the first wave…
Disney2009Pirates594.jpg

And the gals close behind…
Disney2009Pirates595.jpg

This would be a day the Pan would not soon forget.
We headed out over London and on to Neverland hearing the tale of the Pirate Lord Hook and that evil boy.
We unsheathed our swords and attacked at every chance but the Pan was too fast.
He and that bloomin’ fairy would not sit still.
We chased them past mermaids and Indian encampments across the sky and through the seas.
Finally we boarded Hook’s vessel to join the fray and put an end to those Lost Boys once and for all!
However, Pan got the best of Hook once again and we turned our attention to rescuing him from that famished crocodile.

Heed me warnings Pan.
Dead Men Tell No Tales!
And we vowed to return to battle Pan once more.

With that, we departed Neverland for the last stop in this Magical Fantasyland.
Any of ye still out there care to venture a guess where that might be?

Well I'll venture a guess that you cruised the boats right next door & found out that it is indeed a small world afterall?

Those are some stellar updates. the princess pictures are some of the very best I have seen. Good enough for a commercial. seriously good.

The boys look they are having a blast on dumbo and peter pan by 10am. The park looks empty. :cool1:

I hope everyone loves pirates!

You've been busy with updates! :thumbsup2 I love the pictures of your princess with Ariel. Very sweet :cutie: Sounds like you were having a perfect MK morning :goodvibes

Aye matey - you hit it right on the nose!
Now there's a swashbuckler who be paying attention!

Thanks MEK.
It's easy to take shots of DD with Ariel since it's her favorite.
Like I said, the way DS8 lights up for Pooh, she lights up for Ariel.

As for the park, it was relatively quiet.
Another plus for hitting MK the day after the big Halloween MNSSHP.
The crowds were light during the day and the Nov 1st MNSSHP was very manageable.
But I'm getting ahead of myself...

I figure I have to make up for lost time while my computer was fried so I've been trying post quicker (yet shorter) updates this week.

Well then stop being a tease & on with the show popcorn:: popcorn::

IASW was closed for refurbishments for our Aug trip so I look forward to hearing & hopefully seeing some pic's for a stroll down memory lane :cutie:

Happy New Year Mateys!

Now where was we?
Aye, I remember now.
We were just bested by that brat Pan and headed across the walkway.
There we stopped as a landlubber offered to take another portrait of me crew.
Disney2009Pirates596.jpg

I didn’t much like the look of this place.
I swear that clock was staring at us…
Disney2009Pirates597.jpg

But it was a boat ride after all and that be a pirate's favorite!
So we boarded our vessel and prepared for strong seas ahead.
After all, the boat itself warned us that there should be no dancing on this here boat.
Now why would you want to go dancing on a boat?
Unless you had a belly full of rum that is…
Disney2009Pirates598a.jpg

Then the anchor rose and our vessel lurched forward.
We were headed towards a tunnel and the sign above made me wary…
“welcome to the happiest cruise that ever sailed”
We’ll just see about that then, eh mateys?
Disney2009Pirates599.jpg

Inside the dark tunnel was a whole new world.
A new small world that is.
First up, the guardians of this magical place.
We sat upright and tried to pretend we were on the up and up…
Disney2009Pirates600.jpg

Then, things got interesting.
People representing their native lands gave way to beasts standing by the waterside.
And menacing beasts at that.
Just look at this hippo and tell me you not be trembling…
Disney2009Pirates601.jpg

And don’t even get me started about the green monkey playing with a sun-tattooed rhino.
You can’t make this stuff up man.
These tales I tell be true!
Disney2009Pirates602.jpg

Around the corner and a dancing Sun shone over a guitar-playing cactus while children played about gleefully.
Me and me crew were now getting very scared…
Disney2009Pirates603.jpg

Into the rainforests and smiling alligators pranced about with umbrellas.
Disney2009Pirates604.jpg

At last, we got back to familiar things as hula dancers swayed to the music in Polynesia.
Disney2009Pirates605.jpg

And witchdoctors and tribal clans kept a close eye on the shore for any trespassers.
Disney2009Pirates606.jpg

Then everything went white.
Literally.
The next room brought all of the children and creatures back again but all were clad in a ghostly, sparkling white.
We needed to get out of these seas and now.
I feared we must be nearing the ends of the earth to see such peculiar sights.
At last, around the next bend, signs bid us good-bye and we stormed out of there as fast as we could.
Talk about a creepy experience.
We needed to ground ourselves once more so we ventured off to the colonies.
Maybe we could even find the governor’s mansion and plunder something of value.
Come along me hearties…

This week we really got into our countdown and made life as Disney as we could.
We are, after all, heading to Disney in less than 30 days!! :yay:

First up, the movie countdown.
Week 18 of 21 had me and DS8 heading out with Boxmaster for a Guys Nite Out.
We donned our 3-D glasses and took in...

TRON: LEGACY

It was what we expected and basically the same as the original -
Awesome special effects and a lousy, complicated storyline.
DS8 didn't notice and really enjoyed it and also really loved the techno music.
Then it was back home to celebrating with my new present...

EPIC MICKEY

Since it's only one player, I did most of the playing with a cheering section behind me.
Mom, however, celebrated with culinary treats in tribute to the mouse.
From our "Epic Mickey Pizza"
January2011012.jpg

To our breakfast treats of homemade Mickey pancakes!
January2011013.jpg

Of course me, being the Disney Dork I am, had to decorate mine.
So I went with an Epic Mickey theme for the occasion.
What do you think?
January2011023.jpg

The Mickey food is too cute! :goodvibes You didn't say if you're enjoying the game or not? Caitlin got it for Christmas and has been enjoying it :)

I love the pictures from IASW. I really missed that ride when we there in Sept!

Looking forward to more popcorn::

The game is lots of fun.
Drives me crazy on occasion having to make certain jumps.
I usually can figure out WHAT I need to do fairly easily but it's the act of actually doing it sometimes that takes some time.
I played a couple of times throughout the week and we just got to "Mean Street."
I was VERY happy to get out of Small World - thought I'd be in there forever...
And I really like the boards based on Mickey cartoons - Mickey & the Beanstalk, Steamboat Willie (Parts 1-3), and Clock Cleaners were fun.
How's Caitlin doing with it?

Great perspective on that Tour of the High Seas. You and your crew certainly saw some very strange sights!!

As for Mickey culinary creations- now that's what I'm talking about!! Mmmmm... Mickey cakes are a most every Saturday kind of fare for us! :thumbsup2

Oh your tour through IASW gave me a smile :goodvibes

Glad we could oblige!

Gotta stay in the spirit - after all, only 18 more days till we head back!

I loved that update. I'm not really a fan of IASW, but your narrative made it really fun! Cute pics.

Congrats on less than 30 days until Disney. The landlubbers at your house must be raring to set sail again!

See? You just have to spice it up a bit!
As for the upcoming trip, we're ecstatic!
And, of course, I can't help tinkering with our schedule every day!! :confused3
But enough up the future, we still have a tale to tell!
