Darn that Farmtown! I have been doing well on it but neglecting my PTR readers. I must try to do better! Let's start getting back with a few replies.....
Canyon girl, your time spent way back when at WDW sounds wonderful!
Of course, I cannot really speak for just relaxing the way you did in WDW but I do know that I would love to just have that sort of time to just chill at Disneyland... doing nothing... so I can just imagine that WDW would be just about the same.
I see how the dining plan works great for many but I do see how it does reduce a day tripper's ability to just drop in for a bite to eat. I guess that just goes to show how WDW depends more on vacationers than the local population. It has also left me wondering how people who do not plan at all and just decide to take the kids to Disney ever get to dine in any of the places that are so difficult to get ADRs for in advance. I guess only by shear accident. My 90 days is coming up fast and I am a bit nervous... wondering if I am going to be able to get into any of the places I really want. Good luck staying up late for those ressies!
At least having been to WDW before you will have some idea of what to expect, even traveling on short notice. Since this is our first trip I am just planning to be amazed! Our time too will mostly be spent in MK and we also plan to do CP but I will try to tell more about that later. MVMCP just sounds too crowded for my bunch. Plus we are not usually late park goers. I am seriously doing a Pirate & Pals Voyage and heading over to the Hoop-De-doo. That should be enough special events to keep us entertained!
After I read your post I had the bright idea that I might just go ahead and add CRT on our last day. Still thinking... but I don't know if I can bring myself to pay $50 per person for breakfast.
(I am not a big breakfast person.) I know, I know it comes with pics and extras but still! Maybe I can just hope for a menu change that I like better in the next few months to help convince me.
As a matter of fact we ARE homeschoolers! I do have to say since we school year round that this trip will be purely for fun. If they happen to learn something that will be great but we will not be seeking out any educational opportunities. I guess after 12 years of HSing I am ready for a total break! Anyway, off season is definitely the only way to go. It is so nice to have that option. We just got back a few weeks ago from a quick weekend trip to Corpus Christi. First time we have been during the summer crowd in I can't remember how long. Never again! I feel for people whose only option is to travel while everyone else does. It was just crazy!
We have been to DL in September, October, November and December but never during summer.
MadilynnsMomma, I have actually had 2 Canons. My first was one of the big old clunkers before they came up with the nice pocket sizes. My second was a good camera and a good deal less bulky but I guess I wore it out because the auto focus conked out on me. I figured it would probably cost almost as much to have it fixed as to buy a new one so I made up my mind to purchase yet another camera. I was rather ticked off at Canon at that time so I got a Panasonic last year. I love the camera but the pics just did not seem quite as sharp as the old Canon so.... here I am again with a new camera. Not knowing whether we would ever take more than one trip to WDW was a very good excuse to make sure I had a good camera! I decided to go with Canon again and just hope that the last one that broke was just a dud. So far I like the new Canon although I have not decided if it's pics will be a stark difference than the Panasonic. Could it be that the user is somewhat lacking in the photo taking dept? Meeeebe. Oh well, professional I may not be but I am darn sure gonna document out trip!
