The Passover Thread - Or Pass the Matzah!

You're probably not reading the DIS today, but I am having a brain cloud over the preperation of your eggs/onions/salted water thing. Do you just slice the HB eggs and onions and put then in a bowl of salt water? That's it? How much water? How long to they "soak"? Do you put any herbs with them?

no herbs, just slice and mix, we don't let them "soak" very long, but I think my grandmother used to make the dish before the Seder.

my daughter's USY group did a chocolate seder, maybe she can help. I'll ask her.

The April Better Homes and Gardens has "Passover Candy Treats" recipes and pics and they look good!

Matzoh Clusters

Combine 3 sheets crumbled matzoh with 3 cups melted semi-sweet chocolate, 1 cup of dried cherries, 1 cup of slivered almonds, and 1 cup of coconut. Drop by teaspoonsful onto baking sheets lined with waxed paper; refrigerate until firm.

Chocolate Peanut Matzoh

Arrange 3 1/2 sheets of matzoh on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Melt 1/2 cup butter with 1/2 cup brown sugar, stirring until sugar is dissolved; cook 5 minutes more. Spread mixture over matzoh; bake 5 minutes in 350° oven. Remove. Sprinkle with 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate and peanut butter pieces. Let stand 5 minutes to melt; spread melted mixture over matzoh. Sprinkle with chopped peanuts. Refrigerate until firm. Break into pieces.

i wanted to move this thread back up.I need to get my butt in gear as I'll be at Disney right before Passover
