As I update this thread and answer requests for my fridge I still can't believe how long this little old fridge swap has been going on!

Next month in August it will be 5 YEARS since this swap was started. It rapidly grew into something I don't think anyone could have invisioned! All it took was about 10 people sharing the cost of one small fridge and to date over 200 families have been able to use the fridge (and accompanying items). That original fridge went MIA within a few months but POP replaced it with another one (luckily we had a claim ticket!).
Then for awhile we had a larger fridge due to ours being MIA again. Luckily my family was able to use that larger one once.
Though there have been some bumps along the road, for the most part this swap runs pretty smoothly.

A few things that have happened to us along the way, besides the first time our fridge went MIA, have been:
The Iceland volcano-swapper couldn't get out of Britain and fridge was unclaimed for about 3 weeks.

1 or 2 swappers (early on) just didn't have the time in their busy vacation schedule to pick up the fridge as arranged. We were MIA again after that.
The fridge was missing for 4 months starting late in 2010 and finally being located around late March, 2011. Looks like it was just sitting there waiting for someone to find it (along with at least another long-time missing fridge)
A few swappers have caused problems by not wanting to take a little time to meet up and do the swap. Then I have to get personally involved-which I hate. I don't like having to make calls to resolve conflicts.
All in all though, most swappers have been great to work with. Which, I guess, is one of the reasons I am still running this swap. That and the fact that I have now used it 5 times, my sister used it this past May, and I hope to use it again this Fall. I believe I am the only original remaining Fridge organizer left (at least as far as I know.)
Many swappers have contributed to my little swap. Most recently DARay has provided us with a new box. There have been countless coffee makers and toasters. Room decorations. Ponchos. Autograph books. etc. There were even a few swappers, especially during the frist 1-2 years, who sent me (or DD) a little something as a "Thank you". Very much appreciate. DD still has that dark green University T-shirt(sorry can't think of the University right now) and I still have my Mickey Key Chain.
Anyway, I just wanted to thank everyone for making this swap run smoothly for the most part. I thought I would post my thoughts instead of just bumping it up.
