I was working on the PM THING!
How are the fridges getting "lost" in some of these swaps? Do they just disappear into the dark corners of a Luggage services room somewhere? Can we go looking for a fridge or talk to luggage services to get a swap back up and running again? Seems like there may be several spare around there somewhere, as some of these people running the swaps just had to drop out for some reason...
Thank you for your quick answer--even though you already have someone scheduled!

Most likely the wrong fridge is given to a swapper. Then when the right swapper shows up the fridge is MIA. If a swapper is persistent, sometimes the fridge can magically reappear. Or they will be given a fridge that has been unclaimed for over 2 weeks. (this happened to us years ago). I have never had to go into Luggage Services to look for a missing fridge but I have made few phone calls to Lost and Found and Luggage Services. Our fridge has gone missing for a few days a couple times but it does reappear.
When the volcano erupted earlier this year my swapper couldn't get to WDW from England. The fridge sat, unclaimed, for a little over 2 weeks. I called on the 14 day and after spending about 10 min. on the phone with a CM it was located. At first he told me he didn't see it. I described the box, in detail, and after about 5 min. he came back and said he found it all the way in the back, by the wheelchairs. I do believe persistency pays off but sometimes it's just luck as well. Plus if a swapper gets the wrong fridge and keeps it, it cause the right swap to fall apart.
I did go in the LS storage room once, looking for a coffeepot. So I know guests can go back. I think it depends on the CM you talk to.
