That must have been so scary Amber! I have an account that I sometimes don't use for a stretch of time, and sometimes use daily. It just depends on what's going on with my usual accounts - I try to use this other one to accumulate "extra" money when I can. I'd be beyond livid if it was just GONE one day. You must have been really freaked out! What did they do with the money that was in it? I'm glad they got it straightened out for you, but what a pain. Is that something that they routinely do? Will you have to make sure to use the account every so many days to ensure they don't close it again? At least the banker was nice about it.
I've been with BoA forever (since college) and had no issues that I can recall, but I had several issues with different banks before that and didn't trust banks in general for a few years and went with Bank of Sock In The Drawer.
Also, I thought WAMU closed? Or did they just stop offering credit cards? I had 2 credit cards through them and they were switched over to Chase. I am less than happy about that. I liked the rewards programs I was in and they were automatically changed to Chase Rewards. My APRs also went up with the switch. I asked for them to be lowered but the only other option is to close the account. They did lower the APR on my Chase Southwest Visa. However, Chase still won't give me Disney Rewards Visa.
