The only way to have a friend is to be one." -- Ralph Waldo Emerson

That must have been so scary Amber! I have an account that I sometimes don't use for a stretch of time, and sometimes use daily. It just depends on what's going on with my usual accounts - I try to use this other one to accumulate "extra" money when I can. I'd be beyond livid if it was just GONE one day. You must have been really freaked out! What did they do with the money that was in it? I'm glad they got it straightened out for you, but what a pain. Is that something that they routinely do? Will you have to make sure to use the account every so many days to ensure they don't close it again? At least the banker was nice about it.

I've been with BoA forever (since college) and had no issues that I can recall, but I had several issues with different banks before that and didn't trust banks in general for a few years and went with Bank of Sock In The Drawer.

Also, I thought WAMU closed? Or did they just stop offering credit cards? I had 2 credit cards through them and they were switched over to Chase. I am less than happy about that. I liked the rewards programs I was in and they were automatically changed to Chase Rewards. My APRs also went up with the switch. I asked for them to be lowered but the only other option is to close the account. They did lower the APR on my Chase Southwest Visa. However, Chase still won't give me Disney Rewards Visa.

The money was still there, but I just couldn't put money into the account. They said it was closed for security purposes (like if forgot about the account and someone stole my card and took all my money. I wouldn't know; make sense?) This is going to be our main bank now (I like BoA, but they are in a horrible location compared with WAMU).

Chase took over WAMU, so my debit card has the Chase logo, but everything still says WAMU. I actually HATE Chase. I worked for a law firm (we did foreclosures and bankruptcies) and Chase was my client (BoA was actually a client too, until I took over only Chase accounts). Anyway, they were SUCH PITAs! I hated dealing with them. Still, I like WAMU (with the exception of today).

I love eavesdropping on the kids.

Right now they are out on the front porch, and Emma is "educating" Lyzzie on the importance of gassing every day. They are having quite the serious, academic discussion about it. Apparently if it makes noise, it doesn't count. :rotfl:

Hey guys!!!

Lyzziesmom, You are going to do great in school, I can already tell! ;) That's great that you have an interview. I think the original price for the tickets was $13.50/adult. Way too much money but I guess the extra was for the 3D. Sorry about the issue with your unemployment, why does that temp agency have to be so difficult. :confused3 Its not the first time you've had a problem with them! I don't mind your long posts at all, I've been known to do the same thing a time or 2!!

Amber, sorry about your scare about WAMU!! It's weird that they would close your account so quickly due to inactivity. I have a WAMU account that I never use (I actually didn't use it for a couple years, then went back to using it, then quit again but always kept a small amount of money in there) and they never closed it! Maybe it is a new policy from Chase. I agree, I can't stand Chase and after I heard they were going to buy out WAMU I said I was going to completely close that account! I just need to get to the bank to do it!

 Very funny!!! Kids say the darndest things don't they!!! (BTW, used to love that show, I'm sad they took it off the air!)

Just had to share this funny picture!!

2hyxve9.jpg

Kris Allen with my favorite NBA player Dwight Howard!! (still mad the Magic lost the game last night:sad2:) Kris looks SO TINY compared to Dwight!!!

I have no idea who that basketball player is but he looks HUGE! Just look at the size of his shoes. :faint:

This is very depressing. I'm paying bills and since I'm on the equal payment plan for my gas bill, the bill is obviously higher than my actual usage this time of year. I didn't realize just how much higher. My payment is $140 -- my actual usage is $2.73. :sad2:

On a happier note, I was poking around online today and saw that my child support case has been officially opened across the state line, and an address is listed for my ex. (He lives less than 30 minutes from me.) I am hoping this means that some progress is being made on collecting support. He hasn't made a payment in over a year, and the total he paid in 2008 was less than what he is ordered to pay each month. The amount he owes Emma is now up to just under $12,000.00. It makes me so angry that he is able to get away with this crap, and I will be SO beyond happy on the day it catches up to him.

Last night the cats broke into the cabinet and ate all the catnip, then got the munchies and ate all the cat treats and ate through a foil packet of wet food. I've been cleaning up sparkly foiled barfs all day. :scared:

I just noticed the time, I should probably feed these kids some dinner!

The first day of school was good. We got out early and have to read a few chapters for homework. The instructor seems nice. Some of the other students are real characters, to say the least! We had to take a test -- yikes! It was an assessment to see how much/little we already know, and will be repeated around graduation time to measure progress. It was interesting.

I tried to post earlier but I guess it didn't work? It stormed most of the day and my roof leaked.... a LOT. :(

Nicole, how is the job search going? I was thinking of you today for some reason and hoping it goes well.

Amber- That was a scary situation with the bank! I hope it is all resolved now. Yesterday I got a text from a bank saying my debit card had been suspended. Only problem is, I don't bank with them! So I went to their site to report it and alot of people already did because there was a warning on the page.

Lyzziesmom- I'm glad school went well! A test already?! I hope they catch up with your ex and make him pay. "Sparkly foiled barfs" made me crack up!:rotfl:

Ashley- I feel short looking at that picture!

I have an appointment at the temp agency today, I hope it goes well.

Nicole - apparently those texts are the newest scam going around. I got one also about my prepaid debit card from unemployment (the money is transferred onto this card rather than sent via check). The number that the text came from was different from the number they usually send texts from, and the 800 number that the text said to call was not the one on my card. I went to the card's website and all was a-ok but I sent them a message about it and the next day they had a warning on their site and a recorded message on thier phone line.

I also googled the phone number that was in the text. Apparently if people call it, they ask for your card number, name, and other identifying info then steal your identity. I can't imagine how many people fall for it. :(

As long as there is new technology, there will be people trying to take advantage of it.

Good luck at the temp agency!

Hey girls!!!

Lyzziesmom, I was thinking of you on your first day of school! I just know you are going to do great!!! :cool1: Sorry about your gas bill. We just got a very high electricity bill, I am scared about how high its going to get this summer. :scared1: It's so great living in this big house but the huge electricity bill is definitely not one of the perks!!

Nicole- so glad going to the temp agency went well!! You will find a job in no time!

Lin- I bet your excited about your Disney trip, heck I am excited for you!! :woohoo: It will be great to get one more trip in before the baby comes!!

Amber- sorry about the drama with Sprint! I don't blame you for being mad.

(P.S.- If I'm commenting on stuff I read on Facebook and not here I'm sorry!! :flower: I sometimes get it confused!:rolleyes1)

Ok guys- I need help planning my ADRs!!! I need to book them tomorrow!! :scared1:

Right now I'm sure I want to eat at Boma, Coral Reef, 'Ohana and Le Cellier. I need 2 more places! Help!! I was thinking of adding the restaurant in France but then that would be 3 restaurants at Epcot! Also- we normally plan our days around being in the park with night EMH because I like to be in the parks as late as possible, but is that wrong crowd wise?:confused3 I've never gone this early in Sept. so its making me alittle nervous!!

Nicole, I hope the temp agency can find you something great soon!

Ashley, my newes Sprint rant was on FB, but it doesn't matter. :) I gave the phone they sent to Mike (he wanted a new phone anyway) and my other is being sent. Hopefully, I get it soon, but they said it could be 2-4 days.

We have similar restaurants picked ('Ohana, Boma, Le Cellier, and Chef Mickey; we've never ate at CM).

I ate at Chefs de France and it was ok. The flatbread I had was WONDERFUL, but it's no longer on the menu. The escargot were good, but not for everyone (my mom gets them any place that has them and makes everyone try some).

I love Crystal Palace, but I don't suppose you are ready to snuggle with characters yet...

The Wave and Raglan Road both look good, but I haven't tried either one yet.

We don't usually do evening EMH's, because we are usually there at rope drop, so I'm not much help with crowd info.

Hey guys!!!

I called to get my ADRs today. I was really surprised, alot of stuff is already booked up!:scared1: I got everything I wanted after some rearranging besides getting a VERY late ADR at 'Ohana that I'm disappointed in-- I do have some time though so hopefully something will open up.

So if dining is important to you, I would call at 90 days before your trip at 7 am when they open, and even then some stuff might not be available! :lmao: Hopefully its just an indication that the restaurants will be busy because of free dining, but not the parks necessarily!! Lyzziesmom- I definitely want to meet up with you guys! I don't know if you want to play it by ear when we are at the parks or plan anything in advance...let know know! Amber, you too!! :)

So right now we are eating at Boma, Tony's Town Square, Le Cellier, Sci Fi Diner, 'Ohana, Coral Reef, and Wolfgang Puck Cafe which we will probably pay OOP.

ETA, I called again to check for an earlier 'Ohana reservation  and the really nice CM said that she doesn't think everything has been loaded into the system, (she worded it as the 'table inventory' wasn't all loaded in the system yet) she was even shocked at how much wasn't available!

Ashley, did you know that you can book dining online now? Well, actually, I think only TA's can do it, I did it last night for our trip and it was so easy! I could pull it up on the computer, pick the restaurant, day and time, and it would give me the closest time as well as alternate options. If you want me to check on anything just let me know. If you still have an evening open I reallllly suggest Raglan Road! It is seriously my favorite restaurant in the entire world! Bread Pudding to DIE FOR!

I am so excited for this trip. I even subscribed to Tour Guide Mike for the first time to try to avoid crowds over the 4th as much as possible. Although I do find his website to be pretty confusing. But, I imagine I will get the hang of it. We are staying at POFQ for 5 nights from the 1st-6th of July. I can't believe that is only 20 days away! In fact, the next month is going to fly by. We are going to Lubbock on Sunday-Tuesday, then to Minneapolis from next Thursday-following Tuesday, then home for 8 days before flying to Orlando, and then will be in Houston July 10-12 for my best friend's wedding! It is going to be nuts!!!!

Nicole, good luck with the temp agency! I forget, are you taking Spanish over the summer or next fall? When is your graduation?

Lyzziesmom, I hope school continues along like the first day!!!!

Amber, how is the little man?

Ashley- Congrats on booking your ADR's! You have some great choices!

Lin- Congrats on your trip! I'll be taking it in the fall.

I'm getting packed for my trip to Wisconsin this weekend. I'm happy to be going out of town, even if it is a quick trip!

Lin-- that would be GREAT!!! I will PM you the info. :) BTW, how do you access that info? My Grandparents are travel agents and if I could get their log in and do it myself that would be awesome! (if thats even allowed!)

Ashley, I don't know, it is just part of the Disney reservations system.

Nicole, have fun in WI! It is such a pretty state! What are you going for?

I'm getting packed for my trip to Wisconsin this weekend. I'm happy to be going out of town, even if it is a quick trip!

Have fun!!! Take pics! Are you flying? I would love to go out of town too. We are going to Gainesville in a couple weeks so I have that to look forward to!! Did you get any help with your dress and make up? I'm not good at that stuff or I would totally help you!!

Lin, Steven's cousin is getting married. I'm meeting his dad's side of the family! Just kidding!!!! I am excited about the nice weather though! It's so hot here!

Ashley, We are flying. I decided to go with gold eyeshadow. I was playing around yesterday with different colors, and my eyes hurt so much! I kept getting shadow in my eyes! Have fun in Gainesville! I don't think I ever told you this, but when I drove down for the CP, we stopped there for lunch and I thought about you. We didn't stay there long, but from what I saw, it was a very nice town! I'd like to stay there one day.
