The One with the Mommy Meltdown

 Your timing is hilarious! I JUST posted on facebook last night that I can finally keep a "real" bow in! So they do have enough hair (just now), but before now we didn't own "real" bows other than a few. They had a head full of hair when they were born, and it's just now coming back in enough, although you can't tell nearly how much hair they have in pictures because it's so blonde.

Those bows are AWESOME. They are called "infant bows" (creative name ) and come with a gel that keeps them in all day with just a drop then washes right out with water or a wipe. We have LOVED them! :goodvibes:

So funny, I'll have to remember that if we are ever blessed with a princess:

Anyway, sorry your trip started out so rough, that it actually made you consider leaving early! :scared1: I'm glad you changed your mind and it got better.

btw - we had the same problem with the birds on the Boardwalk in December, those birds know where to go to get the free food no matter what family is there

How old are your girls? The teenage years are something we don't like to think about around here.... :rotfl: Did you enjoy your trip?

I have one 18 yo daughter and we always travel with her friend who is almost 18. I think taking her friend is the only thing that's kept her still loving to go to WDW with us. :lmao: One teenage girl is enough drama for me on a regular basis. We had a great trip but we had some sickness ourselves to get through.

I'm so sorry you had such a traumatic first day for everyone! I'm hoping it got much better once you were closer to a normal schedule.

I actually have been reading a lot of reports about ruthless birds in Fronteirland. We honestly didn't spend any time there at all except a quick lunch, so I can't complain there. The birds were kind of annoying all week, but it was so evident when someone was feeding them. They'd go from being "around" and kind of annoying to absolute scavengers!

I still have this odd affection towards seagulls, but I must admit it was tested! :rotfl:

Well at 18, hopefully some of the drama is subsiding. I keep telling Kyle that eventually it does, since my mom and I got through those years.... but I'm not sure I'll make it with two at the same time if they're anything like I was! :teeth:

I love the little pooh hats in your signature. Can't wait to see the outfits :goodvibes

Sorry your first day wasn't what you had hoped! Glad to know it gets better :goodvibes

The pictures turned out great :) Were those with your Iphone?

Hi,
Just found your tr. So far it is great. Looks like a great trip so far.

:thumbsup2

Great pics.

The bag was given to us by a wonderful DISer (:thanks: Tammi!) and was perfect!
You're welcome! I'm glad you were able to use it.

Jennifer, your TR made me laugh, cry, and long for the days of first Disney trips again. Every mother can so relate to all the emotions you went through. Thank you for sharing it all with us, and letting us live your first 'family' trip with you. Avery and Elise are very lucky to have you and Kyle for their parents. :lovestruc

What a great start to your TR! :thumbsup2 Sorry to hear you had such a rough day & it is a good warning to anyone, especially with LO's, to have a plan for if the room isn't ready. We are bringing our DD for her first trip to WDW in December when she'll be 15 months. We are also currently planning on staying in a Studio at a BWV. Hubby & I stayed there once before & loved it - although the mug refills there are a joke - the place you could get refills at the pool always wanted a tip...that got old fast. We've already agreed to not bother with the mugs this time.

Can you tell me what you like about a BCV studio better? We have been considering switching if our waitlist for a boardwalk view studio doesn't come through - I think the pool at BCV obviously looks awesome! :)

Loved all the pics - your girls are beautiful! Thanks for sharing the slideshow!

Jennifer -- you poor thing! What a start to a much anticipated vacation. I am glad it improved as you went along, but that is so sad that all Kyle's girl's were crying that first night. :grouphug:

Sorry you had such a rough start to your trip! I hate it too when a well thought out plan gets foiled!:goodvibes

Great pictures of your first day!

Can't wait to read more!

Thank you, that's very sweet!

Thank you all, for reading along! My DH went back to work today after a LONG vacation, and we have lots on the agenda so it will be interesting to see how quickly we can get back into the swing of things! :rotfl: Hopefully I can get another day done during naps, though!

Um.... I'll do my best to explain, but a lot of it is just "liking it there", for no good reason - which I won't be able to convey very well I'm sure! There are some "tangible" (obviously not, but I'm struggling for a better word this morning!) reasons though, which I'll try to remember.

The walk to the Marketplace from the villas is a short, beautiful one. Multiple times each day, neither of us minded going there for soda or coffee, snacks (pre-packaged and fresh, but a decent selection for sure), souvenir shopping etc. Obviously the "boutique" look of the stores on the BW versus one-stop shopping at the BC seems cute, but we know they carry almost exactly the same stuff, I personally would like to go to just one place (that is convenient to boot!) when I'm either ready to relax in my room or trying not to waste precious park time! :)

The lobby and restaurants and pool and everything else you'd want to go to that is part of the Beach Club/Yacht Club is all near one another. No walking down separate halls or elevators to get here or there, you just walk one direction and it's all there, eventually :) We could get from one end to the other, passing everything, much quicker than we could get just about anywhere at BWV.

The pool is obviously no contest, and if it's not your thing then the quiet pools are exactly as beautiful and, well, quiet :)

The boardwalk is less than a 5 minute walk and a look out many windows, yet NONE of the "bustle" gets into your room when you aren't looking for it!

I hope that helps! If you have specific questions feel free to ask, because it's kind of hard to compare the two. I know I did, just because the proximity to the parks and the BW is huge to us, and they obviously share those things.

Have a great time planning your trip!

Reading along. The first day sounds rough, looking forward to more pictures.:goodvibes If you hadn't posted the one of the girls crying you would never know they were crabby. The girls are just too cute!

Oh, Jennifer! I'm so sorry that your first day was so rough! Sounds like you handled it in true mom fashion. I'm surprised that you made it through the day before crying. I would have started on the plane!

Loved the pictures! The ones of the snapdragons are gorgeous! Not to mention the girls! I'm taking notes of all your tips of traveling with babies. We are taking Timothy in June to DL, and he will be 6 months old. We've never traveled with an infant that young. The others were all 18 months old before going to my Happy Place. Hopefully, we'll make out ok.

Can't wait to read more!

Jennifer-I am sorry your first day wasn't so magical. Love the pictures of your whole family. :goodvibes
