Hi everyone!
So, less than two months to go…I think it’s just about reasonable for me to write a PTR, don’t you?
By the time we go it will be a year since my last trip, and I am having withdrawals. We’re getting even more raised eyebrows than usual over this one, because my dear old Dad is coming along.
However, this just makes me even more excited because my dad is the most fun person I or anyone else knows
it's going to be a very silly, probably reasonably intoxicated, grown up family holiday of nonsense and magic.
The cast
Samantha (sister) – 18 – loves Stitch, big rides, and eating too many steaks in DLP
Lisa (me) – 23 – love Tower of Terror, Chip n Dale, magic and cocktails
Morna (Mum) – 50something… - loves BTM, IASW, pastries and people watching
Sam (Dad) – turns 64 on the trip – loves Goofy, rollercoasters, and has no idea what he’s letting himself in for
As many of you know, the last time we were all in DLP together it was DLRP and it was 1994. Us then...
Us now...
The facts
Staying: Sequoia Lodge (booked for the parents, with sister and I buying APs on arrival and adding ourselves to the room. Yes, it’ll be cosy)
Dates: Mon 4th June – Fri 8th June. Yes, it’ll be busy.
Travel: I’m tagging on a wee weekend in London so flying from Heathrow while the others fly from Glasgow. Meeting at the airport, getting TGV to DLP. All flying back to Glasgow together.
I’m dying to get a full blown itinerary on the go, but here’s the high level plan for now:
Monday
Arrive around 12
Check in and buy APs (excited!)
Traditional Cable Car lunch
Dinner at Walts before Dreams (possibly the special Dreams menu deal, still deciding)
Tuesday
After EMH, whole day at the Studios
Lunch at Blockbuster Café
Dinner at Rainforest Café
Wednesday
Lunch at Colonel Hathis
Dinner at Annette’s
Evening in the Village, cocktails etc
Thursday
Lunch at Blue Lagoon (my choice) or Silver Spur (sister’s choice)
Dinner at Café Mickey – dad’s birthday dinner!
Friday
Last go of favourite rides before having to leave around 11am ☹
