Honestly Lauren, I clean so infrequently that I don't remember what the house looks like while I'm doing it. :rotfl: Lucky for me our Thanksgiving is at Kenny's sister's house. The first year we did the combined family gathering, my sister and I offered to help her clean and she said that a dirty house was one of her family traditions. :rotfl: :rotfl:

I think that sounds like fun! I have been to the Radio City Christmas show once in NY and twice when it was performed in Myrtle Beach. A friend of mine gave me tickets the first year and I took Hailey. She was 2 and loved every minute of it. I took her again the following year and I think my parents enjoyed it as much as she did. They no longer come to the area. :sad1:

Thank you for making me feel better for being so disorganized. I used to be super woman and able to accomplish so much in a day it now boggles my mind. However that was more than a couple of years ago and now I am not quite as spry. I was so sore last night from everything Kenny ordered me to soak in a hot bath. Bless his heart, he really does try to take care of me. He can't help in the kitchen, but when I got in my car this morning, I discovered he had taken it sometime this weekend and filled it with gas.

Your SIL is my kind of gal! My MIL told me that if things wee picked up it would look clean and I paid attention to her. To this day we both have the same closet issue...I really mean the closets. I try to "fly" but I just never fly into those closets!

I hope that Kady enjoys the show. Her attention span leaves a lot to be desired though. I remember you saying that Haily like music and I know that Kady does as well. Hopefully she will enjoy it as much as your DD.

Now don't worry about what you used to accomplish. I had more stamina way back when but not so much now. It all gets done and what doesn't, well it doesn't :confused3

You guys have me wanting to go to the Radio City show bad. I was just looking into tickets yesterday and not finding any for the days I wanted. I told Tom that all I want for my bday is to go to NYC for the day...:)

Nancy, what a nice time you have planned.

I learned the hard way to get tickets early. We had a hard time getting these though and I did this months ago. Try the bus tours, Lauren. They usually have good seats and you don't have to order them months in advance.

My feelings are: as long as the house is somewhat in order, it looks cleaner than it is...and, as long as I can find what I am looking for, the disorganization is not that bad. You sound the same. That was really nice if Kenny to fill your tank.

Just what my MIL told me :thumbsup2

I couldn't accomplish half of what you do if I worked full-time. I keep thinking.....it won't be long until I have a skky berry martini in hand.:flower3:

:thumbsup2

I hope when I said I was packing I didn't make you feel bad.:guilty: My friend, I only have me to worry about. Johnny & Kyle take care of their own, I just make sure everything is clean for them to choose from.

Kathy, girlfriend, I was just teasing. It takes WAAAYYY more than that to hurt my feelings. I am jealous that your guys back for themselves. I let the kids pick out what outfits they want to take, but I supervise and count underwear, socks, etc. Now Kenny is another story altogether. I have a few OCD issues and packing is one of them. He is sooooo terrible at it that I can't stand to watch him throwing stuff in the suitcase with no plan or thought at all. He has only packed for himself for one of our trips together and he forgot so much stuff that I just pack for both of us. Sad, I know. But after packing all the extra stuff that Hailey needs (so that we all can enjoy a melt-down free vacation), it is a breeze to pack everyone else.

I am looking forward to the martini. I'm not teasing at all about that. :goodvibes

You guys better have one for me...:)

If we must. :lmao: I guess I can have one for you (or 2, or 3..........). ;) I'm sure I'll forget on the 19th to wish you a happy 29th birthday, so I'm glad Kathy is keeping up with it.

I finally made that dang BBQ chicken pizza! I threw on Sweet Baby Rays, crumbled bacon, cheddar, and chunks of chicken that I broiled with the bbq sauce on it beforehand.

I had some issues with the dough but it all worked out okay in the end.

Hello all-- Crazy busy day here...and coooold to boot!

Glynis--I am so sorry for the loss of your grandmother. Please know that my thoughts and prayers will be with you and your family through all of this!

Lori--We would love to join you and Rick for Christmas morning. Ross read your post and he said "well I accept.....if you and dad aren't going to go just stick me on the bus to their place"..lmao!........so if you are serious, then count us in. I will PM you all of our info this weekend.
How are you and Rick doing? If you need to talk about your loss, please PM me.

Kathy--I can not even imagine Kris and Ross packing for themselves, these boys are not even capable of getting their clothes out for the next day, nevermind for a whole week. I pack early just because I have to switch over from summer to winter, so what we will take with us goes into suitcases to be ironed, and the rest into storage bins. This year it is more difficult as we are driving down so we will encounter lots of different weather, and then on the way back stopping at my brothers in N.C for a few days....At least we are taking the truck, cause I have A LOT of suitcases going...one just full of shoes, and one just full of different coats.

Gretchen--Please feel free to have a few cocktails for me as well!!;)

Nancy--We want to do a winter holiday weekend to NYC next year. I hope that Kady has a blast! I think that gifts like these are so much better then "things" You get tired of things, but you never get tired of memories!:)

Lauren--I feel the same as you about a clean house.....I hate clutter so that is always taken care of, a dust and vacuum, and the rest well I fig that as long as there is plenty of food and drinks....nobody notices. I keep the major clean up for afterwards, cause that is when it needs it more, and I am not going to clean 2x, lol!

Stephanie--Glad to see you around again, I was wondering where you were hiding, lol.

Dinner tonight was leftover Fish Chowdah and drop biscuits. I also made a chocolate ice box cake....sooo easy and yummmy!

Aimee- that pizza sounds amazing! My favorites are BBQ chicken pizza and bacon and tomato. I have got to try your combination! Also I saw your Holiday menu. Can I say YUMMY!

Wendie- Now I'm jealous! All these WFD meets and I am still home :( Ross and Lori on Christmas morning sounds like a fun way to celebrate!

I never could get Buddy to drive to Disney. He drives all day long, all year long so he refuses to drive to any vacation destination. I don't think our marriage would survive it, even if I could pack all of the shoes I wanted :rotfl:
Several years ago he and his brother drove to Daytona for the 500. He invited Marisa and Daniel along. They left in a blizzard, the kids packed for a road trip (picture pillows, blankets, CD players, treats, things I cannot even imagine....) He was a mess by the time they arrived. He had Marisa on the phone from Daytona to Jacksonville looking for a flight home. They jumped on a plane in Atlanta. When I picked them up at the airport they looked like bag people, and he had never agreed since! His BP was sky high at the time and so he brought his monitor, Dan called to tell me they were checking everyones to see whose was the highest and Buddy always won :lmao:

Last night I planned on stuffed peppers so I headed to the grocery for some ground turkey. I just could not bring myself to spend $6.99 a pound :scared: so I decided that we would have leftovers from Sunday. We still have ham so I may just chunk it up and have some kind of stir fry with the peppers. We'll see how much it is at Costco this morning

Tonight it's leftover cheesy chicken pasta and bread for us. I have to make a pumpkin gooey butter cake today for a dinner tomorrow so I'm really glad I don't have to cook.

WFD at your house?

Morning all--
This is the last day of school for the week. We will deliver the Thanksgiving baskets today.
Snow and sleet are in our forecast for the day. We shouldn't get more then an inch or two. I just hate when the roads are slick from sleet on the snow.

Nancy--I will just have to swing in on the way through and pick you up,lol. Though I think Kady would rather you stay home for Christmas with her.;)
We wouldn't be driving if we were not stopping at my brothers on the way back. It would have been 3 sets of 3 one way tickets and the cost was about 800.00 more then driving. I love to fly, but this will be fun, adventure is always good. Ross is super excited as well.

It is karate night so supper has to be quick and easy....my men ordered pancakes....can't really get easier then that. I will make a fruit salad to go with it.

Have a great day all!!

Good Morning. I may do breakfast for dinner. I have been craving scrambled eggs with lots of maple syrup and salt on top!   Anyone else do this?

Good morning ladies!

Tonight will be Chicken Marsala, pasta, salad and garlic bread.

Have a great day!

Morning all! WFD is leftovers from our "mini-Thanksgiving" last night. We had a turkey breast roast, green bean casserole, stuffing and cranberry sauce. All was very good--but not if you ask my children. They went to bed last night w/o eating dinner again. Thursday should be VERY interesting. DH says that they'll be better behaved b/c of all the family around, and that mommy isn't the one cooking. We'll see--send some PD our way that a war doesn't start over food this Thanksgiving!

Lindsey--yum, Pumpkin ooey gooey cake! I had a chocolate version the other day and Oh my was it good!

Now I want pancakes!!!!! I would love to drive, I have driven to the autotrain with my Sis IL and then ridden it to Sanford and we had a ball! If my DH was not such a "ball of fire" on the road it would be a blast. It's funny because he has a stellar record, navigates through narrow streets and rush hour traffic with this huge rig with enormous pieces of heavy equipment on it, but once he's done.....he is done!

I love anything with maple syrup on it. I would pair the pancakes and eggs, drizzle syrup on all of it and be in Heaven.

5 More Days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:cool1::cool1:

It is snowing here! I mean it is freezing as it lands, and really coming down. I must not have been paying attention becasue I thought it was just in the NW hills, but DH said this was forecast. I was supposed to see the Dr, finish my shopping and then hit Home Depot, there are refrigerators on sale and I need a spare, my old one is not running right so I dread putting anything in it. Plans canceled because the mountain is dicey so I'm staying home.

I know it's not funny but I was chuckling over their reaction. Kady did this the other night...would not touch a thing! Her mother was fuming but Pa and I privately laughed later on, you see my DD was pretty strong willed at the table and is still telling us all of the ways she got around "cleaning her plate" and now her DD is the spitting image of her :lmao::lmao:

I love gooey butter cake. The peanut butter gooey is really yummy as well!

Morning Y'all,

Glynis, So sorry for your loss.

Aimee, That pizza sounds delish!

I'm finally gonna start my thanksgiving cooking today. Spent too much time at Home Depot over the weekend to do it. Yesterday after DC finished up in the bathroom, he installed the light in the kitchen, so I couldn't get in there. I'll probably do the roast & spinach artichoke casserole today. Sweet potatoes & some kind of pecan pie tomorrow. We'll probably have something easy for dinner like frozen salmon.

My DD & SIL are having a great time in France! It's cold & rainy but sounds like they are loving it anyway!

We used our great fabulous wonderful new shower last night! We feel guilty & overindulgent cause it is just so darn great! It feels like a spa & is a whole lot easier for Bob! The rain head & jets are just great too!

Have a good day friends,
Sheryl

Tonight we're planning to have beef fajitas with rice and beans. My sister is driving up from San Antonio at some point today (she hates packing so she's sitting on her couch playing solitaire) so I figured I should have something planned =)

It is snowing here like crazy...we are now forecasted for 5-6 inches. I love snow on the ground for Thanksgiving. The foolish maple trees out back are still full of leaves so they will be dealt with in the spring. The front is done, and leaf pickup was this morning in fact!! Great timing!
If it keeps up weather wise, Kris will have to get out early to take Ross to karate, as I am still not that comfortable driving with one hand, as I am still in my brace, and driving in the snow at night one handed I really don't feel like attempting.

Sheryl--I am so happy that your shower is so enjoyable, it sounds wonderful. Please post finished photos! I am glad that it makes things easier for Bob too.

Well my lunch break is over, we are loading up the cars of the volunteers who are delivering the baskets. I am in charge of the paperwork, and the Seniors who are helping out. They are a great bunch of "hoodlums" and I love working with them. One boy gave his sweatshirt to a little boy at the bus stop the other day, as he didn't have a coat on.
Ugh....I am being paged.....gotta go friends!

I can't even imagine driving in with 5 inches of snow on the ground! Be careful out there! :thumbsup2 on the basket delivery!

I didn't want to bore you guys to death with remodeling pics, but since you asked, I'd be more than happy to oblige! ;)

Here's a pic of the shower with the rain head, hand held shower head, & the massaging jets installed.

And I know I'm strange but I think even our new toilet is pretty!

IMG_0038.jpg

I'm going to order a bronze flush handle too! hee hee
So we are on hold with bath for now, while waiting on the vanity & the glass shower door. So no DC around here for awhile. :sad1: ;)

Here's the new light he installed in the kitchen yesterday& painted the inside edge.

This was what it looked like before! Bleaaah!
100_1406.jpg

We also had concrete ramps installed for Bob, & an automatic door opener on the door from the garage into the kitchen. My DH is becoming very independent!

And just because I don't want to appear boastful. My den wall looks like this:

IMG_0044.jpg

That's where the closet was, that we took to enlarge the bathroom.

It will probably continue to look like that for quite a while. The walls are wall papered covered paneling, with no sheet rock underneath. So the whole room needs sheetrocking, which is just not in the budget right now. And wouldn't you know, I threw out the wallpaper roll I had left, when I cleaned the closet!

Good Morning. I may do breakfast for dinner. I have been craving scrambled eggs with lots of maple syrup and salt on top!   Anyone else do this?

Never tried this, but I'm game for it! I do put ketchup on my scrambled eggs. It horrifies some people.
