Morning all!!
Our power just came back on after being out for about 4 hours...nothing major..through the sleeping hours which is always good....it is still pretty windy out, but the rain is over with for the most part...we just had one pretty big branch come down, and it missed anything of importance in the yard, a lot of small branches everywhere and caught on the fences etc...sooo I know what Ross will be doing today, lol. We will stick them in the neighborhood burn pile, I have a feeling that we will be having 2 or 3 of these going as everyones yards look about the same, lol. Kris will have to chainsaw the bigger branch, and that will go into the wood pile to dry out for next year. Kris is gone for the day taking out docks for our customers who have camps about 2.5 hours away, so he will have to do it some evening this week, as he won't be back until late tonight.
Just mother nature getting us ready for ole man winters arrival!

Dinner tonight will be steak tips with sbr honey chipolte (sp) sauce, this is our fav right now, it is mmmmmm. I will make fresh green beans and noodles of some sort to go along with it.
I hope you all have a great sunday morning! I am going to spend the day putting away the winter items, and such from llbean. I just love that store and only go 3x a year as we all go nuts there, lol. I still buy Ross way to many clothes, shoes and pj's from there, lol.

I am making some chicken soup from scratch as we speak. DD wants to make spaghetti sauce and have spaghetti tonight though. I guess we'll have the spaghetti tonight and soup tomorrow.

We didn't lose our power here last night... dh is still in Washington County working though. Today is Sunday and that means DOUBLE TIME

Good morning!

Glad to hear everyone so far has made out OK up there.:grouphug: I'll feel better once everyone has checked in.

WFD - Blackened redfish with garlic butter, roasted potatoes and spinach gratin.

Three weeks from right now I'll be on a plane headed for WDW!

Good morning, everyone! Sorry I haven't checked in lately. Things got really crazy here with Halloween, school projects, etc. We haven't been eating really well, mostly just stuff thrown together, so I haven't done much checking in.

We are back in the swing of things today, though. I'll be making flank steak with orange sauce, baked potatoes, broccoli, and apple crisp for dinner tonight. I can't wait!!! My BIL went to Idaho and brought us back 25 pounds of Idaho bakers, and they are HUGE!!!

This is going to be a crazy week for us! Jacob turns 8 on Thursday, so we'll be having his favorite dinner then: teriyaki salmon! His baptism will take place on Saturday, and that means COMPANY!!! All the extended family will be in town for that! We will be hosting a party afterwards, and I'm planning on doing a nacho bar for that. Alan and I are providing the chips and nacho cheese, and everyone else will be bringing their favorite nacho topping, and some kind of dessert (cookie, brownies, etc.). I think I'll also make a crockpot full of my lime chicken nacho topping. I've been craving that, lately.

I hope I'll be able to chat this week, but my house is in sore need of my attention. We've spent this last week getting the outside of the house winter ready, and now it's time for the inside. Wish me luck!!!

Glynis-I was wondering where you were, glad it is just the normal busy life stuff that has kept you away and not something else!!
Please give Jacob a big Happy Birthday, and a hug from me please!!

Well my baby boy is growing up....he just informed me that he knows that there is no Santa...:(........this was the last of the "ones" to go...tooth fairy and easter bunny were awhile ago, but Santa he still clung to, lol........he was just matter of fact about it, lol. I called Kris to tell him I had sad news....I said yep Ross just informed me that there is no Santa, and he is reading the stocks in the paper, and having a cup of coffee...(he really is...they do stocks as school and I let him have one cup of coffee a week after his chores, lol) Kris asked me when he was getting his apartment, lol!!
My baby is growing up...at least he still loves to cuddle with me on the couch!!! sigh

Wendie -- Sorry to hear about Ross. I'm surprised he told you. Most kids know that Santa brings way more presents than Mom and Dad. My brother had my parents fooled for years.

I think I still have one more year with Liam, but this is probably it.

Today hardly feels like Sunday since I am not at my parents' hanging out with Beck. Caili had a birthday party this afternoon, so we stayed here. We're having football food -- black bean and cheese quesadillas, spicy lime chicken wings with avocado salsa, and eggplant sticks (in case Caili doesn't eat anything else).

GO PATRIOTS!

He is just way to honest of a kid.....I know I would have tried milking it out for longer, ...........with the toothfairy...he came home from school last year, and had lost a tooth, when I said we would have to put it under his pillow that night to see what he would get for money, he just said Mama, I know that there is no such thing, keep your money,:lmao: .

Kathy I just noticed your post about your upcoming trip.......whoo hooo WDW time is getting closer!!!!!!! :woohoo: Have you started your packing yet???

I remember those days so well. I was devastated when Kyle told me he knew there was no Santa. Christmas morning was just never the same again.:sad1: Enjoy the cuddling while you can!!!!

Hi Y'all,

Glad to hear everyone made out okay with the storm! :goodvibes

Wendie, Sorry your baby is growing up so fast! Hugs for you Mom, we all know how hard that is! I'm gonna have to tie a string around my finger so I can remember to put your coffee in the mail. Or would that be Coffee for Ross!!! ;)

Beckie, Yesterday's meal looked wonderful!!!:thumbsup2 Especially your popovers, now I see why you thought the ones from your "disaster" meal were so bad. Those are gorgeous!!! Is the recipe for those posted here? Also your chowder looks wonderful! I can see a butter sheen on top! I've made a oyster artichoke cream soup that looks just like your chowder, now we just need some cold weather to fix some!

Glynis, You'll have a busy week with Jacob's birthday & baptism! Hope all goes well with all the prep work for the celebrations!:goodvibes

Well I think I've finally had my fill of the hot dogs & chili I made for Halloween! But it will be more leftovers for dinner here, the shrimp alfredo I fixed for Alexis's birthday party. Unless Kathy want's to invite me over for blackened redfish?! ;)

Hi All! Just checking in, I don't know where the day has gone but it went pretty darn fast!

I am glad that my coastal friends fared okay yesterday, you certainly got more than us, the storm seemed to stop at RT 91, so we just got some wind and the sky was overcast. You all got so much more :grouphug:

Last night was Friendly's, not my favorite place but the kids wanted it. I felt bad because they have no sorbet on the menu and the little Baskin Robbin closed so the server gave Kady a sundae glass of Oreos.

Tonight is strip steak on the grill with a garlic butter sauce, chicken drumsticks for Marisa, mashed potatoes, brocolli...hopefully not burnt...and salad and garlic bread. We has fried Queso Blanco, bread and olive oli and balsamic vinegar to start. Dan brought a pumpkin cheese pie with streusel topping for dessert and some vegan cookies for Kady.

Photos from dinner...very sad with no Laura!! Laura did call me to say that about halfway through the afternoon Liam turned to her and said MOM! WHEN are we going to go to Mommom and Grampy's?? I don't like Sundays without Laura and the kids!

Wow, I must say that the calls against the Patriots are really bad in this game. What the heck?? :confused3

So, here's dinner. Lamb chops:

Go Patriots! Even if the referees have other ideas...

Tonight I'm making the pizza meatloaf muffins - I am excited to try them! I have nothing to serve with them but will figure something out.

I have a really, really big day next Sunday (I am preaching for the first time). I'm really, really terrified. It will be a stressful week for me. My Crohns is aggravated by stress so I'm trying so hard to not stress out over this. It's becoming more difficult! Please pray that I don't flip out this week. This Sunday is also children's sabbath, which is a big day for my kids at church, and I was admitted to the hospital 2 days before children's sabbath last year so I'm trying not to repeat history. Just thinking about it makes me sweat. I may have to wear a Depends under that robe... ;)

Aimeedyan Just remember that your friends here are pulling for you we believe you will do a great sermon.:thumbsup2 Try and have a family member sit were you can see them and preach to them.

Tonight we are having rice and chicken satay and a salad.

I found a recipe for my favorite Thai dish that I'm going to try tomorrow I forgot the fish sauce :confused3

I will be with you in spirit!! I know that you'll be great!!!!!

Did you like the meatloaf muffins? I need to work those into a menu soon! I've got a freezer full of ground turkey, and this is a good recipe to use it all up!

I made the pizza muffins Friday night and they were so good. I don't follow recipes well but I used the basic recipe. I served baked potatoes with them. This is going on my regular rotation :thumbsup2

Aimee- you are going to give a wonderful sermon because you are so prepared. Just be yourself, remember that the people who are listening to you are all your friend and as Janice already said, we are all in your corner. And you know that this bunch will say a few prayers for insurance

Just had to post quickly, I've been on a forum which is for folks who are quitting the smoking habit for a few weeks now. Well they have a WFD thread and nobody ever posts on it but me, so now I've been asked to start my own "recipe of the day" thread. It's crazy, they are going nuts over there!!!!!!

Ooh, they were yummy! I just came in to post how much we liked them.

Hi everyone. Sorry I have been missing for the past few days, but to paraphrase a Christmas song:

On the third week before vacation my true love gave to me...3 sick children, 2 broken appliances, and a smoke detector going off at 5:00 a.m. Yes friends, all 3 kids are sick with the runny nose, cough, low fever; my dishwasher started leaking all over my kitchen floor; the washer quit in mid-cycle and did not want to start over; and the dust burning off in the heating vents set off our smoke detector this morning bright and ugly. So tomorrow will involve a doctor visit and hopefully a visit from the repairman for the appliances.

Add this to the other obligations of the weekend and it made for a very busy time. The kids are now in bed and this is the first time I have had a chance to catch up. Please forgive me if I miss anything.

lucas Welcome Back! It was really good to see you post again.

Sheryl and Lori Love the pics!!!! It looks like you had a great time.

Glynis Happy Birthday to Jacob on Thursday!

AimeeGood luck with the sermon. (Or did I miss it and it was today?!?) I'm sure you will be wonderful.

Kathy Now don't be leaving us for the future non-smokers. ;) Hope you are still doing well with quitting.

Wendie it is really good to see you posting like in the pre-surgery days. I hope this means you are on the mend.

Nancy Did Kady and her friend enjoy swan lake? My heart broke about the oreos, it hurts my heart to imagine that baby watching her friend eat ice cream and her not having any.
