Kathy--I am sooo proud of you my friend!!! There are bound to be tough days.......BUT you are stronger then any of them!:thumbsup2
Kathy 1...Cravings 0...:woohoo:

Lori--Oh my, We are going to have some laughs...I love to embarrass others with "fun" comments:rotfl: I did a condom joke on friends this past summer....We had stopped to get soda's before all 4 of us were going to a park band concert, and they were getting vitamins (kinda amusing that the vitamins and condoms are near each other, but anyway) and I yelled over to them that I had found the condoms they were looking for, but all they had were smalls, not the extra smalls and if they could just roll them down a bit?...laugh?!!? holy moly did we all laugh....well except for Dave, he just shook his head and walked off :rotfl:
I love to have people laughing, ...and the good thing is I can dish it, and take it too, lol. I am super sarcastic, and after a couple of drinks, I find I am even funnier,:rotfl2: .........
We are driving down, (ROAD TRIP :cool1: ) so I have a box of holiday decorations all set to go!! I am pretty happy to not have to decorate the house this year...my electric bill will be happy too!!
Hmm, I always seem to think I'm funnier than I am too.:lmao: Or so Rick tells me. The funny thing is... I put the Harry Potter candy in a "safe place" so I could pack it and share with Ross....... yep, you got it- I can't remember where I put it!:headache: I'm such an idiot!:rotfl2: At least I haven't put Wanna B in a "safe place" yet.

I want to be a NOLA girl so bad. Can I be a NOOLA girl? Non Occupant of Louisiana? A NOLA wannabe? Hey, I'll be like you guys and Lori's dog put together...;) OK, now I am getting silly. :upsidedow :)
Like the others said- you are a NOLA girl! Actually I kinda think about all of ya'll that way! We all seem like we just want to let our hair down and have a good ol' fun time. Good food, good friends, and a few cocktails- yep, that's a NOLA gal!:yay:

I haven't posted on this thread in awhile but I had to tell Lindsay that her Vanilla Rich Chip Cake was great! I brought some into the office and everybody loved it. Maybe it was beginners luck, but it popped right out of the bundt pan, too. It's a keeper. :surfweb:

Welcome back - stick around, I missed you!!!!!!!!

Tonight is game night at church so I'm having hamburgers, hot dogs, and chips. And I actually shouldn't have to cook all 150 of them tonight IF the volunteers come at 530 like they said they would ;)

If not, it's okay - I figured out that grill last time.

Tonight I am making maple-bourbon glazed chicken that is roasted with sweet potatoes and pecans in the pan. We'll have some broccoli too.

Here is a link to a couple of pictures I took on our latest St. John trip, in case you want to go to the beach this afternoon: :)

After reading the "what do you eat with your chili" thread, I now have to stop on the way home and buy chili fixings and sides. That's what we'll eat tonight and all weekend!

WOW Becky! These photos are absolutely gorgeous! Your shots are so professional. What type of camera do you have?

WFD DIS meet in St. John may be in order!

Just thought I'd share the Chocolate-Banana bread puddings. Not my favorite batch- I didn't carmelize the bananas enough. I'm not that hot on that 'nanner taste. I'm wondering if I can carmelize them with rum next time for a banana foster kinda taste. Anything with booze must be better, right?:lmao:

And some of you might be old enough to remember these guys. Sorry about the blurry- they were shakin' their goodies faster than my camera could keep up!      <----picture little hats on them turning them into a cowboy, construction worker, indian, army guy, leather man, and cop!;)

Oh sure, Lauren....I am picturing me on the beach, I don't want to come back in and now I want a DIS meet in ST John. You are making my highlight of the week trip to Costco look pretty boring :rotfl2:

I saw that Maine is going to have a direct hit. Are you close to the shoreline? Marisa said our shoreline is supposed to get 60 MPH winds, but we are far enough aways that I don't expect anything but rwin.

Your dessert looks so good! I would have it for dinner if you were closer....Buddy is working late and then he wants to stop in to see his nephew's soccer game. He has not seen him play in years so I hope he gets there in time. Anyway he would never know I was nibbling on yummy dessert before eating that good broccoli :lmao:

And yes, Lori, I am old enough to remember YMCA!!!!!!! (Today I am feeling every one of those years and having one heck of a Poor Me Pity Party...I'm beachless, I have no pudding and I can sing every word of YMCA :eek::eek:)

Thank you Kathy.
I have not heard too many warnings but this morning it looked like the Cape was going to get a good storm and Maine as well, heading towards Nova Scotia, I think. I have not listened to the weather since, just know what Marisa told me. The waters are still pretty warm up here.

I hope "noel" is nothing more than a little rain storm for all of you on the Atlantic side.

Lindsay/Lauren I hope you have a great trip.

Lori I don't want to disappoint you but I don't think those are the orginal members of the Village People. I don't think I can listen to Ymca the same way anymore. At a wedding several years ago the wedding party including the grooms dad did a rendition of Ymca in his underwear. It was way to much for me. I looked at my husband and we left shortly after before anymore came off.:rolleyes1

Tonight I'm being lazy we had a frozen pizza.

Today I will go spend an hour or two up at the school, we have our annual auction this weekend, and I said I will help get baskets set up for it. (each grade has a theme basket that parents buy items for, and we auction it off..it is a huge hit, Ross' grade was... snow day) other items are donated, from local merchants.

I hope your school has as much success as Liam and Caili's! They raised more than $30,000 past their goal.

Kathy, don't spend too much time worrying about New England weather. Whenever they say it is going to be bad, it usually isn't. It's when they say we are going to get brushed by or just get a light dusting when we end up losing electricity for a week or shoveling out three feet of snow. Around this time, the saying is, "Don't like the weather?? Wait a minute."

Dinner tonight was leftover pizza from Wednesday. Liam had basketball and Caili had a birthday party this afternoon, so we didn't have a lot of time to eat.

Hey all--just a quick post in case we lose power tomorrow, and I can't get on....as long as we get through Ross' tournament with power we are good.
My neighbor (who works for our power company) just came over to borrow my thermos' as he is taking a bunch with him filled with coffee for his crew, as they are having to go in for the day to respond to downed wires that are expected, so I made a bunch of muffins up for them as well. ( I usually do this for him to take when we have big snow storms too).
We will get some strong winds, and a bunch of rain, and the sun will be back on Sunday:)
I am just happy it isn't freezing rain!!!

Hope you all have a great Saturday!!
Dinner Sat. will be out somewhere on the way to llbean.
