Just thought I'd share the Chocolate-Banana bread puddings. Not my favorite batch- I didn't carmelize the bananas enough. I'm not that hot on that 'nanner taste. I'm wondering if I can carmelize them with rum next time for a banana foster kinda taste. Anything with booze must be better, right?:lmao:

And some of you might be old enough to remember these guys. Sorry about the blurry- they were shakin' their goodies faster than my camera could keep up!      <----picture little hats on them turning them into a cowboy, construction worker, indian, army guy, leather man, and cop!;)

and everyone now........ YMCA

Lori, That bread pudding looks really yummy to me! But yeah even better with a rum sauce!

And I'm with Nancy, definitely old enough to remember the VP! Those were my prime years, I'm a disco gal for sure!

Hey all--just a quick post in case we lose power tomorrow, and I can't get on....as long as we get through Ross' tournament with power we are good.
My neighbor (who works for our power company) just came over to borrow my thermos' as he is taking a bunch with him filled with coffee for his crew, as they are having to go in for the day to respond to downed wires that are expected, so I made a bunch of muffins up for them as well. ( I usually do this for him to take when we have big snow storms too).
We will get some strong winds, and a bunch of rain, and the sun will be back on Sunday:)
I am just happy it isn't freezing rain!!!

Hope you all have a great Saturday!!
Dinner Sat. will be out somewhere on the way to llbean.

My dh works for our electric company up this way and he will be working starting at 11:00 this morning... gets to head to Washington County.... but that's okay as I am doing the "overtime dance" Bring on the high winds!! Momma needs some Christmas money :santa:

At a wedding several years ago the wedding party including the grooms dad did a rendition of Ymca in his underwear. It was way to much for me. I looked at my husband and we left shortly after before anymore came off.:rolleyes1

:scared1::scared1::scared1:

Kathy, don't spend too much time worrying about New England weather. Whenever they say it is going to be bad, it usually isn't. It's when they say we are going to get brushed by or just get a light dusting when we end up losing electricity for a week or shoveling out three feet of snow. Around this time, the saying is, "Don't like the weather?? Wait a minute."

:lmao:, You are so right! My DH told me it had changed fro us and we are only getting showers and some wind. The coasters are going to get more. Come winter we all listen to the weather but it is what it is. DH says the weathermen are in cahoots with the grocery stores :rotfl2:becasue their big storm warnings never seem to do anything but send us all flocking for milk bread and sandwich meat :rotfl:

I'll be thinking about you. I agree that freezing rain is no fun!

;)

Dinner last night was good! The pizza muffins were so good. I had baked potatoes with them and was planning on steamed broccoli but I forgot it on the stove and it burned :scared:. Gosh, that was awful!

Tonight Buddy and I are taking Kady and a friend of hers to the ballet to see Sleeping Beauty, so we are going to take them for dinner first. I think we are going to head towards Friendly's because her friend is a McDonalds girl and I am not going to Mickey D's for supper. If Buddy gets home from work early enough we may head in the opposite direction and take them to Red Robin.

The rest of my family is having dinner at my oldest D and then going to see Saw. Donny is a good cook but somewhere he got the idea that you should not clean your grill racks :scared: because then you get better flavor. Marisa and Dan told him that they don't want any extra flavor so he better clean those racks before putting any food on them! I would love to be a fly on the wall tonight. They like to get to the movies early to get their popcorn seat etc. Donny heads in just as the previews are ending. He also likes seats empty around him and they all line up. You could sell tickets to the 5 of them goining out together :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Good morning! Anyone what a dog that is supposed to herd sheep but tried to catch the geese flying overhead?

THE HAT Mermaid02 Hope you both stay safe. Yes I again freezing rain is not good. Freezing anything other than ice cubes is not for me.

Just a reminder if anymore would like to join in on the holiday card exchange just send me a PM. I'll be compilyng the list soon.

My Mother just invited us over for pot roast tonight..... I told her I had a little one from last night and she could take that and add it to hers.... Great minds think alike!!

Those potatoes sound GREAT!!! I might have to try that sometime this week.

I just heard on the news Remember to set the clocks back tonight. I have to remind myself or I'm going to be very early for work tomorrow.:rotfl:

(Today I am feeling every one of those years and having one heck of a Poor Me Pity Party...I'm beachless, I have no pudding and I can sing every word of YMCA :eek::eek:)
But I still love ya!

I hope "noel" is nothing more than a little rain storm for all of you on the Atlantic side.

Lindsay/Lauren I hope you have a great trip.

Lori I don't want to disappoint you but I don't think those are the orginal members of the Village People. I don't think I can listen to Ymca the same way anymore. At a wedding several years ago the wedding party including the grooms dad did a rendition of Ymca in his underwear. It was way to much for me. I looked at my husband and we left shortly after before anymore came off.:rolleyes1

Tonight I'm being lazy we had a frozen pizza.
Nope, none of the originals- but they still sound good.

I've already sent you my address, haven't I??

I just heard on the news Remember to set the clocks back tonight. I have to remind myself or I'm going to be very early for work tomorrow.:rotfl:

Oh great, Kyle can use this as an excuse to stay out an hour later tonight.:rolleyes1

We've got a HUGE LSU game this afternoon, so I planned a big shrimp boil with corn, potatoes and sausage for us to pick on during the game. I'm also making that Vanilla Rich cake that Lindsay posted.:woohoo:

It's my nature to worry, so I'll be worried about all you gals and your families that are in danger of severe weather today. I'll keep you all in my prayers.:grouphug:

So I ended up switching the menu last night. I made a cajun flavored chicken, broccoli, and mac and cheese. Here is the chicken:

I'm not sure wfd yet...we were supposed to go to Laura's for dinner, but the weather might keep us home, we'll see.

where is everybody? Tonight I am making comfort food--steamed fresh king crab legs with drawn butter for an appetizer, then haddock chowder and popovers.

Hi Becky, I'm here:wave2: ! YUM those crab legs sound great, can't wait to see those pics.

That cajun chicken looked amazing!:thumbsup2 How's the weather?????

I'm not cooking tonight. We're going out, but we don't know where yet. DH just got home and still has to take a shower so where ever we go we'll probably be waiting an hour to get a table.

So far, we're surviving the weather here. It is very windy and is now raining pretty hard. I am hoping it lets up because the kids are going to a pajama/movie night and I'm going to a cocktail party with my neighbors. We are all going to be very soggy if the rain continues.

I did make dinner this afternoon. I had linguine and clams and garlic bread, which was probably not the best choice right before heading to a social gathering. I feel like I have garlic exuding from my pores.

Not sure what's for dinner... we were gone all day and just got in. DH is craving quesidillas so we may make some of those.

still have power, (crossing fingers it stays that way, but it doesn't seem like it will) It was a long day, and we had a very long drive back from llbean as the wind is just a whipping and the rain is making it hard to see) I have two huge huge maple trees in my back yard, that hover over our house, that I am hoping stay there and not ON our house!!! So far so good...just soggy and a bit blown around...not good hair day material for sure...good thing was we all looked alike, ;).......the sun will shine tomorrow!!!!!

hope everyone had a fab day!!

Hi all - I'm still playing catch-up from vacation. Work was crazy and my MIL had neck surgery on Tuesday so we've been a bit busy. I still haven't gotten to the grocery; that's on tomorrow's agenda!
Looks like lots of good recipes and web sites have popped up here; I'll need to take a better look at all the posts. We had hot dogs and chili for dinner. Tomorrow my DH wants to make the Cheddar Cheese Soup from Canada. So hopefully that will be dinner tomorrow!
I hope all you ladies up north stay safe, warm and dry. Becky - that chicken looks really good!
Wendie - good to see you posting again; hope you are finally feeling better.
Kathy - great to see you kicking the habit! Hang in there; I know you can do it.

I haven't posted on this thread in awhile but I had to tell Lindsay that her Vanilla Rich Chip Cake was great! I brought some into the office and everybody loved it. Maybe it was beginners luck, but it popped right out of the bundt pan, too. It's a keeper. :surfweb:

I'll second that. Mine came out great too!!!!!!!!:goodvibes
