Tonight I am making meatloaf, smashed potatoes, and steamed vegetables.

WFD at your house?

It's all part of my job as a Birthday Lady here on the DIS!!!!! Here's our threads:

http://www.disboards.com/forumdisplay.php?f=57

Kathy- I have never gone to those threads but a quick run through this morning showed me what I have been missing. If this keeps up I am never going to get anything done at home :confused3. Buddy thinks I needed a vacation but if he sees how much time I am here at the DIS I am going to have a difficult time assuring him that I am one busy lady :lmao:

Happy Birthday Janice and Sandy!!! I followed Kathy over to the birthday board and posted for you there as well! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: Hope you both have a great day!

I am not really making anything special tonight. I haver chicken nuggets for Andrew and I was planning on having a salad but A tells me I need to eat more than that...;) I still have beef barley soup so we're having whatever I through together. That soup came out so good and Tom even loved it after proclaiming he does not like barley. :thumbsup2

Nancy, Tom is coming home Friday. I basically kicked him out the door...I was looking forward to alone time but I miss him already. :sad1: It sounds like Kady had a great birthday...:yay: I am also glad that you got the stuff done at your Mom's and cleared things up with your brother.

Becky, Great pics....my favorite meal! I also love the one from vacation! :thumbsup2

Have a great day all!

Morning ladies. DH and I had a nice weekend away--but the food was :scared: at best. No worries though! Dinners until Thursday will be boring here--tacos, pasta, pizza--and then it's Kona, Whispering Canyon, and F&W!!:cool1: :cool1:

I'll try to pop on again before we leave Thurs. morning--but with work and getting the troops ready under the cover of night (the trip is a surprise for DD), I'm gonna be really busy. If for some reason I can't get on here again, have a wonderful rest of the week--and try to behave in my absence;)

I refuse to have turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes this close to Thanksgiving...looks good though! :lmao:

Did you go back and see your thread for your birthday?;)

:lmao: Have a great time Steph!!!

It's going to be raining all day here and then hopefully some cooler weather will be headed in our direction. I think some sloppy roast beef po-boys may be on the menu tonight. YUM!

JANICE & SANDY - HAVE A GOOD ONE!!!!!!

Becky - Care to share your stuffing recipe? I love trying new ones and have yet to find one that I can just stick with.

Anyone else with a fave stuffing recipe that you'd like to share????

UGH! DS woke up this morning SICK! :sad2: I just got off the phone with the Dr. office and luckily I didn't get the "wait and see" answer. They are seeing us in an hour.:wizard: I'm not taking a sick 2 year old on a plane in 3 days! Done it before, and it was not pleasant!:scared:

Becky/Laura--just wanted to say Thanks to the Sox for beating the Indians. Now DH won't be disappearing this weekend looking for a TV to check on the ballgame!;)

Kathy--I'll have to look for it, but I had one last year with sausage and fennel and it was so good--I'll see if I can scrounge it up

Steph, this is getting eerie! We were there the same time in May and now for October too! We leave Thursday also!:lmao: Have a great time. Hope your munchkin feels up to it.

I use Rachael Ray's Apple and Onion Stuffin' Muffin recipe. Instead of making the muffins, though, I just bake it in a casserole dish. It's so yummy!!!

Happy Monday, everyone! Happy Birthday to Janice and Sandy!!!! Hope your days are filled with love and fun and good food!!!

Saturday, Alan and I went to Black Angus with some neighbors and it was wonderful!!! We split a crab cake appetizer (yummy), Alan had a filet mignon entree, and I had prime rib (to die for!!), then we split a chocolate avalanche cake! That just about put me over the edge!!! It was so good, and we had such a fun time, just visiting and laughing! We really need to do that more often.

Yesterday, I made Top Sirloin in "Wine" Sauce. It was incredible!! I'll post the recipe in just a little while. There was a kitchen mishap, though. Alan decided to help out with the recipe without telling me. I didn't want the pan covered, and I wanted it to simmer for 15 minutes on med-low heat. Alan cruises through the kitchen, tosses the lid on the pan, and turns the heat up to high. All without telling me. After 15 minutes, I go to check on it, and all the sauce has burned up! I was so mad!!!! Luckily, the meat hadn't burned up, yet, and was still yummy! I'm definitely going to do this recipe again, only without Alan's help!

Dinner tonight is still up in the air. Alan is leaving for Spokane, Washington in about 5 hours, and will be gone until late tomorrow night. I may just decide to order pizza for the kids, since we don't do it very often. Jacob brought home 3 coupons for free cinnastix orders, so we'll use those as well. At least that's where my head is right now! We'll see what happens later.

I've seen this one before and I would love it but DS won't eat apples in anything.:sad2:

This was our test run.

You're welcome! :thumbsup2

I hope your son feels better. Have a great trip!

Happy Birthday Janice and Sandy!

Nancy, I'm glad Kady's birthday party was fun.

I have Caili home sick today. It's just a cold, I think, but she has a fever too. She always seems to get a fever for a day or two with colds. That means no school and no skating this afternoon. I'll probably just make buttered noodles or something like that for her dinner, and I am having the leftovers from yesterday. I usually don't like leftovers, but turkey dinner is one of the exceptions. Liam will probably want the noodles.
