We just returned from our wet weekend in Baton Rouge! The first thing I am doing (after hugging the puppies of course) is getting on the DIS to say thanks to you all that had good thoughts on the weather this weekend!
As you now know (those from the area anyway), it did decide to rain on us Saturday. But we made the best of it! Sitting in Tiger Stadium in our ponchos (mine with a big Mickey on the back) was a true experience for sure! But nothing like the experience the Golden Girls had! The clouds opened up and it POURED just as Tiger Band was taking the field for half time.

I was holding my breath that my DD wouldn't fall during their dance, it was SO wet! It was pretty funny though, they took so much time doing their hair and make-up and none of it mattered, there wasn't a dry thread (or hair) on them within moments! You just had to laugh, it was better than crying! I have always told our girls that the best memories are made when things go wrong, so you might as well keep your sense of humor!
I lurk on this thread all the time, sorry for not posting more recipes, but I don't cook much anymore now that we are empty nesters. I feel guilty that I don't contribute, so I hope you don't mind me sharing a recipe that isn't for dinner, but one that I plan on taking to a tailgate party....
Crawfish Dip
1 pound Jimmy Dean Hot Sausage
2 packages Crawfish (14-16oz)
2 pound package Velveeta Cheese
2 cans Cream of Mushroom Soup
1 small can Mushrooms
½ teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
½ teaspoon Tonys
6-8 dashes Tabasco Sauce
Garlic Powder, to taste
Green Onions, to taste
Brown sausage and pat dry. Melt Velveeta in microwave. Add all ingredients in crock pot. Cook on high until heated through.
Turn on low and keep warm while you serve with crackers, bread or corn chips.
I have taken this to several gatherings, and while it isn't low cal, there isn't any leftovers either!
