Looks like good news on the storm front for us. The depression most likely will not even become a tropical storm and is very close to making landfall around Pensacola. We'll probably have some rain and that's all folks!!!!!!

That is GREAT news! Thanks for the update! DH and I are heading out to Baton Rouge in a few minutes. If its good in NOLA then it will be good for the LSU game tomorrow!

And here I thought I checked this board just for the wonderful recipes you ladies post! :)

Please don't take my word for it, things can change. Our meteorologists are very optimistic though!!

Kathy Poor Jerry he doesn't even get his name or will it go to the next storm?

Tonight we are having Pizza.

This weekend poor me has to lay everything out for our trip make sure I have everything. Get dog/cat food etc. Oh the woo's of going on vacation:rotfl:

OKWMom That bacon recipe sounds good. I love bacon.

Nancy I'm not sure if I posted earlier or not I can't see it. Anytime you need to vent, vent away. I have strongish shoulders. You exbil sounds like such a catch why did your sister let him get away?;)

Poor Jerry will become the next named storm, hopefully he will not exist!

Poor you, getting ready for vacation......:cool1:

The pie came out as great as I remembered, here it is:

Mystery Pecan Pie

8 oz. cream cheese
1/3 c. plus 1/4 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 tsps. vanilla extract
4 eggs
1 - 9 or 10 inch pie shell
1 1/4 c. chopped pecans
1 c. light corn syrup

Combine cream cheese, 1/3 c. of the sugar, salt, 1 tsp. vanilla and 1 egg; pour into pie shell. Sprinkle with pecans. Combine remaining eggs, sugar, vanilla and syrup; pour over pecans. Bake at 375 degrees for 40 minutes or until center is firm.

My mom keeps telling Liam that he should aspire to be a meteorologist. It is the only job where you can be wrong all the time and still get paid (especially true here in NE where we expect very little of our weather people!).

Nancy -- I can't imagine what you've been going through all this time, but I know you are stronger than I am. Becky is my best friend, and if she was in a difficult situation (which she isn't...her DH is my second best friend, and if you've ever seen "Say Anything" he's Lloyd Dobler, except that he doesn't think that kickboxing is the sport of the future) I don't think I would be able to hold my tongue. I am so glad that some sort of reconciliation occured before Timmy shipped off to Iraq. As everyone else has said...vent away.

Aimee-- I hope you are feeling okay after your treatment today.

I am really late posting today, so I know I am missing people. Have a great weekend everyone!

Dinner tonight was homemade fish and chips. Caili was so excited, she was jumping up and down in the fish market. She ate three pieces. Liam has the cold the rest of us had earlier in the week, so he was feeling a little blue, but he is okay.

Good News! Now if you could send a little rain to us here in CT........

Have a great time! Now what makes you think that this thread is not all about recipes, hmmmmmmm???????

This weekend poor me has to lay everything out for our trip make sure I have everything. Get dog/cat food etc. Oh the woo's of going on vacation:rotfl:

I am so jealous! Getting ready to leave is part of the vacation because all of the errands point right at that get-a-way.

The other day Kady tried to talk me into driving past her school to go straight to the airport and go to Fl. I think she had the right idea.

She sound like my DH. He lives and breathes the weather and then gets so upset that they cannot get it right! He calls home and asks me to listen to the weather for him and he has it on all day . Somehow, several different forecasts make him feel better :confused3

Now is Liam a clown? My favorite weather guy is on Channel 3, Scott Haney. He drives the rest of my family nuts, but he is hysterical and has a huge bunch of people like me who love him. Tell Liam to polish up his jokes and he will be living high and fancy making his Gramma say "I told you so....."

No cooking for me last night. I got the whole house cleaned, had a play date for Kady, and then went to a new Chinese restaurant with the kids. Buddy worked late so he had his favorite supper, ham sandwiches from the shoulder we had this week.

that sounds soo good..i might have to try that tommorow if we have dinner with Greg's parents..its only 7:30 and my tummy is rumbling, i bet that would make a good breakfast treat ;)

i HEAR that...when they say snow,i always think...cloudless and 60 degrees..:lmao:

Morning all! :surfweb: It's Saturday which means it's Date Day for my husband and I. We are going to eat at American Cafe and do some shopping. Possibly catch a movie.

WFD at your house?

This weekend poor me has to lay everything out for our trip make sure I have everything. Get dog/cat food etc. Oh the woo's of going on vacation:rotfl:

Oh you poor thing. :rotfl: I know you are getting really, really excited. The week before we take a vacation, we are impossible to be around. The kids are giddy (and me too truthfully).

DS loves that bacon recipe too. It is obviously an appetizer, but everytime I make it for a function, he keeps asking why we can't just have that for dinner. The first time I made it I had to keep chasing him away from the dish so there would be some left for everyone else. :rotfl:

The other day Kady tried to talk me into driving past her school to go straight to the airport and go to Fl. I think she had the right idea.

Wisdom beyond her years. :goodvibes

I don't we're really having dinner tonight. I am planning on making the sausage dip I posted yesterday and Becky's (and cajunmommy's) buffalo dip for us to watch the LSU/USC game this afternoon. We'll probably be too full for dinner.

Have a great day everyone! (Except Kathy and the other LSU fans. I hope you aren't having a great afternoon from about 3:30 - 7:30  ;) I'm looking for USC to get killed, so I would be thankful to make a respectable showing. Ah the joys of a lifetime of being a Carolina fan.)

I haven't posted in a while. Life has been stressful lately, but i'm trying to catch up with the thread.

It's a football day, so I'll be cooking. For nibbling purposes, we'll have DRUNK DAWGS (which we will probably need to be by the time the night is over) and chips with fresh salsa.

Our meal will be Rachael's Ray Italian Sausage Subs (mmmmmm....very, very good) and a new recipe I found for a Tomato and Mozarella Pasta Salad. I'll probably just make a pan of brownies for dessert.

If you want any of the recipes, let me know.

I've been telling Johnny all week that USC scares me, I think this game is going to be very close. I'm glad we're playing in Death Valley!!!! Well one of us will have bragging rights after the game!;)

Still no rain here yet and already there's another disturbance out there for us to start worrying about.:sad2:

I'm going to start on dinner early so there won't be that much to do after the game. On the menu today is BBQ Shrimp and the Sweet & Sour macaroni salad that's posted here, that stuff is addicting!!

GO TIGERS!!!!!!!

Welcome back!!!! How was your birthday? Hopefully things are settling down for you.

Well, we ended up going to that pub last night. It was way too much food and all of it fried! Fried fish and chips, fried clams, french fries, onion rings....blah. We did not even make a dent in it all.

I have not decided what I am cooking tonight, but it sure as heck is not going to be fried!!

Thanks, Kathy. I'm just trying to refocus and put the priorities back where they belong. Too many distractions lately have caused too much stress.

Now is Liam a clown?

He is unintentionally funny. He says things in complete seriousness that just have the adults roaring, but when he tries to be funny, he isn't. My mom's suggestion has mostly gone ignored. He says he wants to be a baseball player when he grows up and have two houses: one in the city he plays baseball and one next door to me. :)

i HEAR that...when they say snow,i always think...cloudless and 60 degrees..:lmao:

When I was in high school, they once listened to the weather report and canceled school the night before...it was lightly raining.

Lindsay, I hope you have a fun Date Day!

The kids and I are heading to my ILs for lunch this afternoon, so I prepared and made a big batch of banana/walnut pancakes for breakfast. ;) Liam has a soccer game late this afternoon, so we'll eat dinner after that...probably hamburgers.

Okay - I've missed a few days and need to go back nine pages!! I'll might get caught up..:rotfl:

Tonight for dinner I fixing a pasta with tomatos and brie that one of the liam sisters posted earlier.

Hope everyone has a great day!!

That is sooooo good. I made it one night and figured I would be the only person who would eat it, but DH LOVED it and said it was his new favorite pasta sauce.

Melanie, I would love the recipe for the drunk dawgs when you get time.

afternoon all

Kathy--fingers crossed and prayers said that whatever is out "there" stays out there!!!

Laura--how is Liam feeling with his cold today? How did the soccer game go?

Nancy--I had a good chuckle over your description of Buddy's dinner from last night, lol!

Melanie--glad to see you back around these parts...I hope that things work out for you..and you can get some of the stress cleared up!!

Janice--Oh I love the packing part, it makes it all seem so real, but it is hectic and then you have all those last minute things you need to go get as you realize you are out of this and that.
I told Kris that I will need the suitcases brought up soon, he thought I was nuts until I explained that when I switch the closets over from summer clothes to winter I need to put summer outfits in the suitcase for our trip!! So I get to pack early whoo hooo...so much fun....AND, since we are driving down this time and taking Kris' beast of a truck that I have room to take as much, and as many shoes, and outfits as I want!!!!!

Lindsey--I hope you and dh have a fun day!!

I am sure I missed a bunch of things....Ross and I just made a recipe that was in the Taste of Home for this month.....I don't have the name in front of me right now but it is basically a pumpkin monkey bread, it should be gooooood!!

I have no idea what is for supper as Kris is working on putting in some doors and windows for a customer and won't be home until 9. He did take Ross to karate for me this morning (ross teaches on Sat to the 3-4 year old little dragons) and then picked up hot dogs and fries for lunch. So I have nowhere to go today...I am staying in my pj's and will work on the disney trip planning!! That is a fun afternoon...in a few hours I will have a glass of wine while I do it as well!!
I have a feeling that I will make a big salad for myself and Ross will eat whatever he makes for himself. He loves a salami sandwich. Kris will eat his favorite late night supper....(honest) cereal...fruity pebbles!

Have a good day friends!!
