Lori- I can't breath because I am laughing so hard. Buddy tells me that he is like a donkey....put a sandwich and an apple in his lunch....send him to work, he follows his food, and then do it again tomorrow :rotfl2:. I never though about enticing him to a movie by stashing tuna sandwiches in my purse and a few chocolate chip cookies in my pocket :thumbsup2.

Now you've got me in tears I'm laughing so hard.:lmao: :lmao:

 As many hugs as you need to feel comforted. I'm thinking about you, and sending warm thoughts your way.

Well, these are them on hangers. I'll take more pics tonight. We're going as Hagrid and Madame Maxine. I finished mine at 2:30 this morning.

Love the costumes, Lori!!!!

We picked up cloaks from my sister's costume box yesterday, and the kids are so excited!!! They've all picked their favorite characters: Katie - Harry, Jacob - Dumbledore, Leslie - Luna Lovegood, and Mary - Ron. I'll take pictures of them in "costume" before the party tomorrow!

Dinner tonight is up in the air. I know the kids will either have tomato soup and grilled cheese sammies, or Mac and cheese. Alan and I are going out tonight. I know we're stopping at IKEA, so we may just grab something there.

Then, we'll go to Walmart or Target to get a new ice cream maker. We are celebrating Pioneer Day (statehood holiday) on Tuesday, and homemade ice cream is a tradition I'm not willing to lose! We'll spend Tuesday doing pioneer things: making bread, making butter, teaching the kids how to play marbles, etc. It's usually a fun day, topped off with homemade ice cream and fireworks!!!

I can't wait to see the photos! I think I'm more excited about this than dressing up for Halloween or Mardi Gras!

Wendie- tell Ross I just saw UPS delivering cases of "the book" to the bookstore down the street! I tried to get Greg(the UPS guy) to give me one-but no go! Apparently he had to sign for the ones he has to deliver- if any show up missing he gets in trouble!

Well, the cloaks are not as wonderful as your costumes, but the kids think they're great!

That sounds like a great day!:goodvibes

So Harry Potter is to blame for us not getting our food porn!:lmao:

I've abandoned my family for Harry.....:sad2: :sad2:

Tell Becky that I completely understand. I'm terrified of stumbling across a spoiler, but I don't think I could survive without my WFD friends, and one other thread here on the DIS. Other than that, I'm not watching much TV either! I can't wait for Saturday!!!

I am glad to see there are so many Harry Potter fans on this thread. I guess you can all understand my absence, since I've been trying to cram a reread of the last book into the past two days. Oddly enough, the kids have known not to interrupt me too much.

Ohhhhh, yes, please. A couple if you don't mind? I'll keep them as my stocking stuffer this year.(yes, I get my own stocking stuffers- if I didn't I'd get NADA!) Just let me know how much I owe ya and I'll send it!

My kids wonder every year why Santa doesn't bring Mom stuff for the stocking. Lori, I love your costumes.

Hi everyone:wave:

I'm back...

Welcome back!

My DDIL (Pookiepotpie) and DS are closing on their home this afternoon.

Congratulations to them!

I"m bringing the Sangria (starting to be a trend) TGIF all, and have a wonderful weekend!

Stephanie, have you posted your sangria recipe?

Lori----Ross is sooo excited....he was hoping that was who you would pick to go as, lol.

That was who seemed the logical choice to me, too, with Rick going as Hagrid.

I hope everyone has a great time at their parties!

Dinnner tonight was lamb chops, rice and sauteed summer squash and zucchini.

Lori Your costume are beautiful. I bet the ups guy is going to be everyone's favorite tomorrow. My book is arriving tomorrow so tomorrow night I will be curled up in bed with Harry,Ron and Hermoine. Good thing I have a big bed.

Tonight we are having salads and pizza. I need to get my chores done so I can read all weekend starting when I get home from work tomorrow.:cool1:

Wendie I hope things continue to improve for your Mom

Nancy Sounds like Buddy is a great guy, very secure to let us all tease him

Thanks all I sorry for the poor me's it not like me. Thanks again for the understanding. Now to more important stuff like cleaning and laundry so I can relax while I read all weekend.

Waiting to buy the book tomorrow morning. Dinner tonight was a ham steak cooked on the grill, along with a huge yukon gold potato that we split between us, and a salad of fresh tomatoes, cucumbers, onions and beets with a little sea salt and fresh ground pepper and some lemon juice on them. (We got our biweekly box of veggies from our CSA farm yesterday evening; I *LOVE* fresh organic veggies!!)

Gretchen, I think that is the kind I have...the little round jar, right? I am too lazy to get up!!! :rolleyes1

Yeah, that's the one. BTW, I had the leftovers tonight while Kenny had the pad thai.

ETA: I hope you have a wonderful time at your brother's.

I had your left over Marsala Pork for lunch yesterday...yum!

Thanks for the well wishes. I am really looking forward to his party. They are so laid back up there, it should be an experience...I made my bro a really neat basket of all gourmet grill stuff. I can't wait to give it to him.

have a great weekend!

Hee hee! My husband and I have a cheesy day planned. We are going out to Cracker Barrel and then coming home to watch "Gone With the Wind." :) Get it? Southern food, Civil War movie? I know, I know. Corny, but fun!

WFD at your house?

Morning all. DD woke me up way too early this am, so this is me:surfweb: The Jambasta was good as always last night, Lindsay thanks for sharing the recipe. Tonight will be Sangria, oh, I mean burgers. ;) Have a great weekend all--now I get to get the fam ready for a day at our local waterpark. I guess relaxing weekends went out the door when my first child was born.

That's sounds like so much fun. I'm on a diet, so eat something fattening for me and tell me about it tomorrow please. My mouth is watering thinking about hash brown casserole, mac and cheese, fried chicken, chicken fried steak with gravy, can you tell the diet is messing with my head?

Amen. Along with my manicure and pedicure.

Tonight I have convinced Kenny to have a light dinner, salads with boiled shrimp. Quick and easy for me because I have a busy day - quarterly payroll taxes to finish, laundry to do, grocery shopping, packing youngest DD for camp tomorrow.

Have a great day everyone!

Gretchen
