Becky also wanted me to let you know that she is off the Internet until Monday due to the Harry Potter spoilers out there. I told her the WFD thread was safe, but she isn't taking any chances. She is taking pictures of her food, and she will post them all when she is done with the book. That could be as early as Saturday night at the speed she reads.

So Harry Potter is to blame for us not getting our food porn!:lmao:

We're having what we call Asian Hillbilly.....LOL

Asian part:

Asian salad--so yummy
thai curry shrimp--new to us so don't know how good it will be
noodles with soy sauce sauteed in the wok

Hillbilly part (dd loves this so I have to make it when I do any seafood---LOL):

clam strips
hushpuppies

Just me and dd as her father decided to spend the weekend out of town with the gf:rolleyes:
I am sure she will want to go into the pool after a long day at summer camp. Where do they get this energy?? Anyway not too hard for me. 20 minutes or so and it will be done.
What time's dinner? I've been craving clam strips and hush puppies(since I'm trying to stay away from breaded or fried-of course!:headache: ) And the asian salad sounds good too!

:lmao: Tell her for the same reason I'm only visiting threads I'm already subscribed to. And it's DIS or Shockwave only. Not even checking email because I have to go through the AOL screens to get to it!

Rick gets home Friday afternoon, we're going to a release party at Midnight and then I am abandoning my family till I am done. Told Rick he needed to take the dog and go play trivia or something away...far away... until I'm finished- no interruptions, until I'm ready to take a break.

I've abandoned my family for Harry.....:sad2: :sad2:

Tell Becky that I completely understand. I'm terrified of stumbling across a spoiler, but I don't think I could survive without my WFD friends, and one other thread here on the DIS. Other than that, I'm not watching much TV either! I can't wait for Saturday!!!

My kids have been invited to a Harry Potter party on Saturday night. My neighbor is setting up a room of requirement for those who want to read the new book. For everyone else, there will be quidditch, garden gnome tossing, lots of food including pumpkin pasties, butterbeer, chocolate frogs (complete with wizard cards), Bertie Bott's beans, etc. Should be fun. They will also be watching one of the movies projected on a sheet while they lounge on the trampoline, etc. Should be fun for the kids!

It's so hot here today that dinner will be something cool! I'm thinking of a tuna salad served in hollowed out cucumbers, or turkey salad with grapes, mandarin oranges and poppy seed dressing. It's just too hot to cook!

I wanna goooooo!:sad1: Do they need a chaperone? Where'd she find the chocolate frogs with the cards?!? Sorry......If you get a chance could you please ask her where she found the frogs? Thank you. (I seem to be channeling my inner 12yo with all this HP mania!):wizard:

I've seen the frogs in Super Target on one of the end racks. If you need me to pick some up, let me know I'll be there for 5 hours on saturday cooking pizza.

The chocolate frogs were pretty easy! She ordered a chocolate mold and just made the chocolates herself. Her husband (another HP fan) found some wizard cards online, and she printed them out. I'll see if I can find the website where she got them!

I'm going to help set up the party, and then DH and I are outta there! We rarely get a chance to do anything without the kids, so we're taking advantage of the 3 hours to do something on our own!!!

Ohhhhh, yes, please. A couple if you don't mind? I'll keep them as my stocking stuffer this year.(yes, I get my own stocking stuffers- if I didn't I'd get NADA!) Just let me know how much I owe ya and I'll send it!

Hello everyone!
WOW lots of Harry Potter fans out there huh! I do enjoy Mr. Potter as well, but still need to read books 5+6 before this last one, so i am sure it will get spoiled for me by the time i get to it..ah well...:sad2:

ANYHOO..last night i was lazy and we just had roast beef sandwiches.
Thursday nights are are usual Sushi night..i  sushi oh so much. Greg...not so much. So he will have his delicious yet sodium laden honey sesame chicken, and i will probably have a couple of maki rolls and salmon sashimi..YUMMMMMM.

I pulled a Nancy today. Chatted all day and forgot to post dinner!:lmao:

Last night was low-fat pierogies with nonfat plain yogurt.

Tonight is clean out the fridge- lamb shoulder chop, couscous, and a ziplock steamer bag of veggies that need to be cooked. I think there's a zucchini, yellow squash, scallions, red pepper.

I don't think they're in stores yet, but if you have the chance try the Ziplock steamer bags! I got them through Bzzagent and they are awesome! Just cut up whatever, throw it in the bag with seasonings and nuke it! The times are even on the bag.

Hi everyone:wave:

I'm back... I wish I had something good to contribute but after all of the fattening meals I had at WDW I am having a smart ones frozen dinner tonight

Welcome back Jenni.

We are having the last of the chinese from last night. Got to get that evil stuff out of here.;) I was bad last night feeling sad going through some of Dad's things my step brother brought. I lost it when I came upon his wallet. It still had his money in it:(

 for you Janice, it's very, very hard. I still have 3 rooms of Mom & Dad's stuff to go through and I'm really dreading it. I still have the watch my Dad was wearing when he was admitted into the hospital after Katrina(where he passed). I check it every day - it's still ticking.

Kathy I finally got the nerve to look at his death cert it's been 10 yrs Alex was just a baby. Thanks for the hugs I have to stop being a baby.

 To you I can't imagine going through Katrina a losing a parent, neighbors, pets, house, etc 1 million times worse I think. again

Thanks for the hugs everyone. It's good to know that you are all here for me.

I'm in a junk food mood so I'm having chicken strips and french fries. YUM! :)

You are not being a baby! Grief is something that is individual to everyone. Cry and lose it all you want and need to. PM me if you want to, I'm sure we have a lot to cry about together.

Welcome back, Jenny! I saw your other thread on the CB, and it looked like you guys had a great time! I loved your pictures!!!
