Hello friends...

Kathy- so glad to hear you are feeling a bit better!!!!

Jenny- Welcome back...glad you all had a great time...lord knows you all needed it!!

Glynis- Enjoy your 3 hours of alone time....the kids will have a blast...what an awesome party that will be for them!!!

Lori---what did you go with for your costume...Ross is dying to know....he, like most of the kids in his class are huge HP fans...that is all they are talking about here this week..........We are taking Ross to see the HP movie on Friday night, and then Sat to pick up his book....Ross is a huge bookworm and has let it be known that no other books will be read until he has finished HP...which means with the way that kid reads he will be on a different book by Sunday, lol.

Thanks again to all for the well wishes for us here..........Ross' toe is fine, just looks gross, lol...........Kris is still having some major swelling with his knee and I have made it clear he is not working at all this weekend, and will be going to see our Dr tomorrow (he went to the ER) as I am worried he might have an infection in it or at least need the fluid drained.
I go for my MRI on my wrist tomorrow...
No news today on my mother, though they are talking about moving her back to a reg room and out of ICU...My dad is worried as she is very quiet about all of this, and is normally VERY feisty.........I am counting the days until my brother gets there!

Dinner tonight was wonderful as Ross and I hit almost every booth at our farmers market today.....He loves going to it, they are only open on Thursday afternoons.

We had a fresh salad and Ross has found that he loves fennel...who knew...he walked around the market gnawing on a piece...that was after he ate his carrot with the greens hanging off. We had homemade brie with artisans bread that was still warm, fresh peas that ross shelled for me...(first of the season and sooo sweet) And I made my meatloaf with the sweet glaze that my boys love, along with mashed taters and rice for Ross. It is rainy here so it was a perfect meal............dessert was EASY EASY strawberry angel cake.....delish and only 2 ing!!
I have leftovers of it all so I put together a nice plate for my grandmother as Ross and I will go visit her tomorrow for a bit.

Hope everyone has had a great day!!

Tonight I had a lunchable (I fell into the budget board coupon frenzy trap!) and DH had PB&J. Can you tell we're scraping the bottom of the barrel with our meal choices?

We're now snacking on popcorn but that PB&J sounds really good. I may make myself one =)

Yummmm. That sounds wonderful. I think I'll try it but because Kenny isn't wild about chicken or mexican food, I think I'll call it Kathy's marvelous chicken or something. :rolleyes1

:thumbsup2

Nancy, I don't think the dairy-free butter would work either. However, Fleishmann's is a dairy-free margarine, and that works for baking just fine.

Thank you Laura. My DD called right after you posted to tell me we needed to buy Fleishman's so it is on my list. I don't like cooking with the "soft" type spreads so this is going to be a huge help to me.

So Harry Potter is to blame for us not getting our food porn!:lmao:

It is not going to take long before I start going through food porn withdrawal..............

Rick gets home Friday afternoon, we're going to a release party at Midnight and then I am abandoning my family till I am done. Told Rick he needed to take the dog and go play trivia or something away...far away... until I'm finished- no interruptions, until I'm ready to take a break.

I've abandoned my family for Harry.....:sad2: :sad2:

You are too funny! :lmao:

I pulled a Nancy today. Chatted all day and forgot to post dinner!:lmao:

:lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

I was bad last night feeling sad going through some of Dad's things my step brother brought. I lost it when I came upon his wallet. It still had his money in it:(

Don't be too hard on yourself. I find myself so sad at the oddest times. I was able to help clean and sort my Mom's personal things but I will cry when I pass the hair salon that I took my Mom to or when I buy grapes, and I have not bought raisin bread since she passed. It is the little things that seem to allow grief to well up again, so just give yourself time :grouphug:.

Jenny- welcome back! I hope that you had a great time!

Kathy- I see that you are feeling better. I did not like seeing that you were under the weather.

Wendie- Poor Ross! Please keep us posted on your Mom's progress. Your family is still in my thoughts and prayers.

Dinner last night was leftovers. DD took the little one to the dentist, which is always traumatic so they went out to eat. She also found that Coldstone Creamery has sorbet so she took her for her ice cream treat. DH turned his leftover pork into sandwiches and ignored the rest :confused3

My DDIL (Pookiepotpie) and DS are closing on their home this afternoon, but DS has to go to work after that. They are buying my sister's home and it is like a fairytale house. I was hoping for a celebration dinner but DS needs to go to work afterward. I see what plans my family has and plan dinner after that.

Tonight we are going to my mom's house for dinner. She is making chicken and dumplings, corn on the cob, and fried okra, both fresh from their garden :)

WFD at your house?

Well, I never ended up cooking last night. DD had a make-up tennis class and we didn't leave the club until after 4:30. So, it was drive-thru for us. My one day of McD's for the week. Tonight will be the Jambasta. And then no cooking for me tomorrow, it's Dsis bday party. I"m bringing the Sangria (starting to be a trend) TGIF all, and have a wonderful weekend!

Jenny - Welcome home. Glad you had a good time.

Lauren - The pork chops were amazing. Kenny took the first bite, moaned, and held up 5 fingers. He said they were now his favorite pork chop dish.

Tonight's dinner is going to be pad thai. I just have to remember to pick up the shrimp from the fish market tonight on my way home.

Good morning everyone. I'm just dropping in to say hi, I'll have to come back later and read everything I've missed.

WFD?
Last night we had Bourbon Chicken, white rice, and baby peas.
Tonight we'll have pork chops, Asian noodles, and broccoli.

You just made me SOO hungry. Brie with artisans bread YUM. And there is nothing like fresh peas right out of the pods. I was ransacking my boyfriend's parents garden the other night, just pulling off peas and snacking on them. Natures candy!

Wendie - The fact that they're moving your Mom out of ICU is a good sign, right? I will continue praying for her. Good luck on your MRI, let us know how things are going later today if you have time.

Janice - How are you doing today?

Sandy - I was getting ready to send out the search team for you:laughing: , glad to see you back!

Steph - Sangria is a very good trend!;)

Nancy - I'm feeling MUCH better, almost back to normal, if that's possible for me.:rotfl:

Gina - Love the pic of you and BF!

Gretchen & Lauren - I must have missed that pork chop post - going to hunt it down now.....

WFD - Fried Green Tomato night!!!!!:cool1:

Kathy I think the title of the recipe is Lauren's braised pork chops. They are the ones made with teriyaki, honey mustard and basalmic vinegar. I didn't have any pork chops, so I sliced up a pork loin and served them over white rice like Lauren suggested along with an oriental veggie mix.

Wendie,

*******

I think we may go out for a quick bite tonight. We are going to VT tomorrow for my bro's 50th bday so I am busy getting ready...Its a very quick trip...we will be back Sun night.

Have a great weekend!

Welcome back Jenni.

We are having the last of the chinese from last night. Got to get that evil stuff out of here.;) I was bad last night feeling sad going through some of Dad's things my step brother brought. I lost it when I came upon his wallet. It still had his money in it:(

   It's hard. Sometimes it really feels like my Dad is in the room with me. I get sad but then just think of all the happy memories.

Tonight I had a lunchable (I fell into the budget board coupon frenzy trap!) and DH had PB&J. Can you tell we're scraping the bottom of the barrel with our meal choices?

We're now snacking on popcorn but that PB&J sounds really good. I may make myself one =)

Give me PBJ and a tall glass of milk and I couldn't be happier!!!

Lauren - The pork chops were amazing. Kenny took the first bite, moaned, and held up 5 fingers. He said they were now his favorite pork chop dish.

I am sooo glad you guys liked them...:cool1:

Gina - Love the pic of you and BF!

Gretchen & Lauren - I must have missed that pork chop post - going to hunt it down now.....

I second your comment to Gina!!! :)

Thats an easy recipe...I hope you like it...enjoy your tomatoes!!! :thumbsup2

 As many hugs as you need to feel comforted. I'm thinking about you, and sending warm thoughts your way.

Well, these are them on hangers. I'll take more pics tonight. We're going as Hagrid and Madame Maxine. I finished mine at 2:30 this morning.

Lori----Ross is sooo excited....he was hoping that was who you would pick to go as, lol. He wants to see more pictures!!! He loved both of the costumes....right now you are the "coolest" HP fan to him.....now THAT is a compliment!!

Gina- love the pic of the two of you!!

Sandy- glad to see you popping in for a bit.

Steph--Sangria is a great trend to start.....better then most of the other trends out there!!

Kathy- happy to hear you are back to "normal" lol

No new on my mother today as I haven't been able to reach my dad...his cell is messed up so I can only reach him at home until his new cell comes in. I keep saying that no news is good news....I just don't want that phone to ring in the middle of the night.

I had my MRI and that was a quick thing...hurt pretty bad, only because of the way they had to put my wrist for the images, and then they taped it down that way so I wouldn't move it...OUCH,lol. I will have the results on the 30th when I see my orthopedic dr.
Kris is out of work until Monday as I sent him to the DR, to get the swelling looked at again from his bursitis. He is swollen from the knee to the ankle. She said that the calf swelling is from normal fluid not being able to get back like it normally would due to the knee being so swollen. So he is resting with it up and iced and in a brace.

We are going out to dinner tonight to a new local place, and then off to see the HP movie....a fun family night with my boys.

I hope you all have a great day!!!

I found it, I have a question. Do you make your own honey mustard sauce?

Gina- how did I miss your picture! I had to go back, I love it!

Wendie-Enjoy your meal out with your guys! Dinner and a movie.............I don't remember the last time we did that. Time to torment Buddy :rolleyes1

Lori- your costumes are wonderful!

Kathy- I missed the pork chop recipe as well. I am going back to add it to my file. My family loves them so I like these tried and true recipes.

I still don't know about dinner. I have been out all day and just finished lunch, Kady is just having lunch again, DDIL and DS are celebrating their new home with ice cream, DH is working late and DD is having car issues, I don't know when she'll be home.

Lori----Ross is sooo excited....he was hoping that was who you would pick to go as, lol. He wants to see more pictures!!! He loved both of the costumes....right now you are the "coolest" HP fan to him.....now THAT is a compliment!!
Tell Ross thanks. I've never been the "cool" girl before! Always more the geeky girl. I'll have loads of pics but he prolly won't get to see them till Monday....I gotta read the book first! (and the computer's at the store, not home)

Wendie-Enjoy your meal out with your guys! Dinner and a movie.............I don't remember the last time we did that. Time to torment Buddy :rolleyes1

Lori- your costumes are wonderful!
Poor Buddy!:sad2: :sad2: Nancy, maybe he'd be willing if you shoved a couple sandwiches in your purse for him?!? Kinda entice him out of the house and into the car with one...and then into the movies with another.....kinda like the donkey and the carrot?

Thanks, the costumes have been a fun labor of love, and made the week fly by at home. But I have to houseclean all next week because it surely all went to pot while I worked on those.

I found it, I have a question. Do you make your own honey mustard sauce?

I don't know if Lauren does, but I didn't. I bought it at the store in the mustard section. I can't remember the name of it. It's a German name.....I'll let you know tonight when I get home.

Lori- I can't breath because I am laughing so hard. Buddy tells me that he is like a donkey....put a sandwich and an apple in his lunch....send him to work, he follows his food, and then do it again tomorrow :rotfl2:. I never though about enticing him to a movie by stashing tuna sandwiches in my purse and a few chocolate chip cookies in my pocket :thumbsup2.

He really puts up with too much teasing but I tell him he is just too easy :rotfl:

Have fun with your reading!
