Do you have a recipe for the burgers? TIA!

Of course, here ya go (I'm sure you can find a way to make them lower carb)

Teriyaki Turkey Burgers

1 egg
1/2 C. dry bread crumbs
3 green onions, chopped
4 Tbs. teriyaki sauce, divided
1/4 tsp. onion powder
1 pound ground turkey
1 can (8 oz.) pineapple slices, drained
4 hamburger buns, split and toasted

In a large bowl, combine the egg, breadcrumbs onions 2 Tbs. teriyaki sauce and onion powder. Crumble turkey over mixture and mix well. Shape into 4 3/4 inch thick patties. Coat grill rack with nonstick cooking spray before heating the grill. Grill patties, covered over medium heat for 6-8 minutes on each side or until a meat thermometer rads 165 degrees; brush with remaining teriyaki sauce during the last 5 minutes. Grill pineapple slices for 3 to 4 minutes per side or until heated through. Serve burgers and pineapple on buns.

OK, so, dinner last night...I heated up my whole house to roast the chicken. It seemed fine when I put it in the oven. I checked on it a few times, it looked fine, it smelled fine. Almost dinnertime, I took the chicken out of the oven, and put the fiddleheads on to simmer. Chopped into the chicken and ACK!!! It smelled awful!! I can't even describe it. It wasn't an "off" smell, or a "rotten" smell. It just smelled...old. Needless to say, out went the chicken, and out went the garbage, including the fiddleheads since they overcooked while DH and I were dealing with the dead chicken.

So, at 8:15 PM, with no dinner in sight, it was time for emergency paninis. Cheddar, tomato, onion, turkey, bacon, and mustard, pressed and grilled. They were actually pretty good, just not what I was in the mood for.

Tonight I am making pasta primavera. I have tons of vegetables so this will use up a bunch of them. Hopefully I will have better luck in the kitchen tonight.

Boy, did I just spend some money at the grocery!

Filet mignons were on sale, and they also had some nice lamb chops. And I needed chicken breasts & pork loin too. Now I have too many options for dinner & I can't make up my mind what I want to fix.:confused3

liamsaunt, You're emergency meal sounds better than some of my best planned meals! The last panini's I made just had roast beef, swiss cheese & grilled onions, but your's are definitely loaded!:thumbsup2

Ummm, Sheryl? I'll take the lambchops please. Medium rare....and what yummy veggie?!?

Last night was shrimp primavera and tonight is sweet and sour shrimp. I'm cheating though....It's that frozen Contessa stuff. I'm collecting the UPCs for a paella pan and am almost there!

I am grilling the sausages I didn't make Tuesday tonight. I think sides are going to be salad and some sort of potato dish, but I haven't quite figured that out yet.

My goodness ladies, I miss one day and boy did I have some catching up to do.

Kathy, sorry I didn't catch you before you left town. I'll be thinking of Kyle and his team and wishing them good luck. Also, the pork chops were wonderful. Even my pickiest eater, DS, said they were good. Which now brings us to approximately ten non-junk food items he likes.

Lauren, the invitations and flowers are beautiful. I'm so excited for you and can't wait to see the wedding pictures.

Lori, thanks for the update on the Magic Shell. DH frequently reads the posts over my shoulder (I think he has some paranoia going on) and when he read that the Magic Shell only worked on ice cream said "I knew that was too good to be true". ;)

Tonight's dinner is Wendie's hamburg gravy.

Posting another food update soon.

Gretchen

OH, Lauren I forgot to tell you how much I like your invitations!! They are really very classy & sophiscated! Love it!

I still don't know what to fix for supper. DD came by for lunch & I made us some salads. I'm having one of my klutzy days, I opened the salad spinner before it stopped & threw lettuces all over the kitchen! And it didn't stop there, I just kept dropping & splilling things. Maybe I should stay away from knives & all heat sources today!

Lori, I had planned on asparagus for supper, it was on sale at Winn Dixie for $1.98 but they were tips were all mushy. Yuck, I guess that's why they were on sale.

Day Four (a/k/a Duck. Duck. Duck. Duck. Goosed?)
Breakfast was a quick one in the villa. Rice krispy treats for the girls (and DH), leftover cake for SIL, and diet coke for me.

We spent the day in Epcot and decided to try something new for lunch. We got the girls chicken nuggets and fries from the McDonald’s outpost. DN said they were just like the one’s at home, although I’m not sure if that is a good thing or not. However, she did eat all of them, so she must have liked them. DD ate almost two nuggets and refused any attempts to entice her to eat another.

The adults had lunch at Yorkshire County Fish Shop. SIL and I sat at one of the outdoor tables getting the girls settled while DH waited to place our order. The restaurant was just opening for the day and we were the first party to use the tables. As soon as we sat down, the ducks waddled over for handouts. I had just finished explaining to DN why it wasn’t a good idea to feed the birds when I felt a pinch on my rear. I looked up, then down to discover I had been bitten by one of the ducks, who was brave enough to still be standing there looking for food. DN saw the duck bite me and her giggle box was turned over for the rest of the meal.

DH, completely missing all of the excitement, finally arrived with our lunch. The fish was hot and crisp, but a little greasy, as were the chips. We thought it was a good lunch and certainly no worse than the lunch we had at CHH, but I was disappointed because all I could think as I ate it was “I gave up a ham and cheese croissant for this?!?”

Day Four - Part Two

Dinner that night was at Le Cellier. This is one of our favorite restaurants and we were really looking forward to it. I ordered DD the fruit cup, the beef and macaroni, and ice cream for dessert. She did not eat anything and would not try even I bite of the ice cream. I felt like Forrest Gump and even said at one point “Lt. Dan…..Ahhce Creammm”. I guess she didn’t get the joke because still not even a taste. My best material is wasted on my family.

DN ordered the fruit cup which she only ate the grapes from, the cheese pizza which she ate all of, and had the ice cream sundae for dessert. She seemed to like dinner, but was anxious for it to be over so she could hit the rides.

For our appetizers, SIL ordered the mixed field green salad. It looked really good to me, but she took one or two bites and said it had more greens in it than she was expecting. Not really sure what she was expecting. :confused3 I ordered the seared rare tuna. It was ok, but not nearly as good as the app DH ordered. He got the Duck Two Ways, saying it was his revenge on the webbed fellow I encountered earlier in the day. If that was true, his revenge was particularly sweet. That app was absolutely delicious. The duck was cooked perfectly and the Chambord syrup was a wonderful complement.

For our entrees, SIL ordered the maple BBQ filet with cream cheese mashed potatoes. She said it was really good. DH and I ordered the Mushroom Filet. My filet was excellent and cooked perfectly. And that risotto is always one of my favorites. DH and I both cleaned our plates.

For dessert, SIL had the Chocolate Whisky Cake and did not care for it. She didn’t or couldn’t really tell us why, but she ate just two bites and that was all. I ordered the chocolate moose thinking maybe DD would have some, but she wouldn’t so I ate it myself. It was really rich and the crumbs on the outside added a nice texture. I can’t remember what DH had. Normally it is the crème brulee, but they were out of the maple that night and he didn’t want just the vanilla.

Kathy, is going to be so sorry she's missing this! We'll have to remind her to go back to check out this duck story! Really funny! I with you on the fish & chips especially comparted to the croissant!

:lmao: :rotfl: I'm sure that was an excellent Forest Gump too!

And really! The Creme brulee without the maple topping? They can't be serious!:confused3

That meal overall sounds pretty delish!:thumbsup2

:lmao: :lmao: I'm lovin' your reviews!

Last night I made meatloaf. Normally I hate meatloaf but DH loves it. This one, however, turned out great. I mix the meat with eggs (4 to 2 pounds of meat), packaged breadcrumbs with romano cheese, a little chopped onion and peppers and season with Lawry's seasoned salt. Top with A-1 sauce and bake. Anyway what I wanted to tell you about were my french fried onion rings.

The batter is so simple - 1/2 beer and 1/2 flour. Let the batter sit - at least an hour - longer is better. Just dump the onion rings in the batter and deep fry. Really really good.

Leftovers tonight.

I don't know where my MIL got it from but here it is and I will name it for her!

Mrs. Bobbie's Crawfish Pasta

1# crawfish tails(pack is fine, fresh is better)
2 cans Rotel w/ chile's(we use mild and it is STILL spicy!)
1 cup chopped celery
1 bunch green onions chopped
3 tbsp olive oil
3 tbsp butter or margarine
box of angel hair pasta

melt butter and oil together in a big pot or pan(I use a wok!)
add crawfish tails and cook until water is cooked out
add green onions and celery-saute
add in the Rotel tomatoes and chiles
serve over pasta(we use about 3/4 of 1 box of angel hair pasta. Half is too little and a whole is too much!)

This is MUCH better the next day!

Sometimes I have it with a veggie and sometimes not-this time I did not.

Going to another crawfish boil tomorrow!!

Happy weekend!! I don't have to work so i can have a few drinks!!!;)

Thanks for posting the recipe. (I didn't respond sooner cause I had a lot of catching up to do on the thread.) It sounds delish!!

I never ended up going to the store so we had scrambled eggs, bacon, toast and applesauce. I'm thinking about making Glynis's teriyaki turkey burgers tomorrow.

OKWMom I love your reviews.

Tonight we are have baked Tilipia salad and rice.

With all this talk of wine I'm going to have to go out and find Rosa Regale hopefully it's around here to.

Stephanie,

My DH loved your Vindaloo!!! He said and I quote "Yummo, Cher!" and "This cajun boy sure can pass a good time with that Indian Vindaloo!"

And here's the proof!
