DH coming home tonight but I to cook when he is not here-this week we were BAD!!! But it was probably cheaper than eating home(or at least the same!)
Monday-frozen dinners we cooked the old fashioned way(in the oven) since my microwave is broke and we have yet get one-we looked, but have't bought yet!
Tuesday- Sicily's-kids night(bill was$8.50 or so for 3!)
Wednesday-Church dinner($10)
Thursday-Picadilly-kids night again(I plan that!) $12 for 3!

Tomorrow he will be home and we are needing some home cooking again! Have NO idea what I'll make!! Or, heck, DD's will be at MIL's since we are both working Saturday-so maybe we'll have a date!

Happy MOM's day early to you all!!

Lori

Well, I planned to grill sausages, make potato hobo packs on the grill and serve a nice salad, but things didn't exactly go as planned. First, I discovered that I had no aluminum foil, so that eliminated the potato idea. Then, I saw the salad greens and they had turned an ooky color brown. No salad. So I took this idea...

I will make something we can eat on the run...maybe throw some sausage, peppers and onions in the oven and some whole wheat pasta with EVOO and grated cheese as a side. When I make the sausage in the oven it creates alot of juice to put over the pasta.

Thanks!

I did grill the sausages, but the peppers and onions I roasted in my toaster oven. It was pretty tasty, although I really wasn't in the mood for pasta since it was so hot. Dealing with 90 degree weather on May 10, for me, is like dealing with 20 degree weather on October 10. I am just unprepared.

The teriyaki turkey burgers were really good! We always like them, but this time I added in a can of chopped water chestnuts. WOW! It gave them a nice crunch! DD (9 yrs. old) loved them so much, she ate two!!! The other kids are still at the table, patiently picking out the green onions. Oh well, you can't win them all!

Stephanie,

My DH loved your Vindaloo!!! He said and I quote "Yummo, Cher!" and "This cajun boy sure can pass a good time with that Indian Vindaloo!"

And here's the proof!

So, at 8:15 PM, with no dinner in sight, it was time for emergency paninis. Cheddar, tomato, onion, turkey, bacon, and mustard, pressed and grilled. They were actually pretty good, just not what I was in the mood for.

I could not even plan as nice a dinner :confused3

Tonight I am making homemade oven-baked corn dogs. We'll have baked tortilla scoops and salsa con queso. A good junk food dinner for us. I can't wait :cheer2:

WFD at your house?

Good morning All! Last night dinner was a grilled cheese ans tomato sandwich for me ans bologna and cheese fro DH. I have no idea what Marisa and family ate :confused3 I was helping DH stack wood.

Gretchen- Your trip report is fun....now I keep having visions of Forest GUmp dancing in my head

Sheryl- I guess that Cajun boy loves your food :rotfl::rotfl:

Tonight I am planning baked salmon and baked potatoes. I'll fix some potato stuffing for the potatoes because I have a lot of fish avoiders in the family.

Now ladies, if you see a bunch of weird posts from me, I am trying that multi quote thing again.......I must be the only person on the planet who could not find post reply and when I did i could not get back to another quote.

Good Morning
Things have been crazy busy around here (it is our busy season business wise) I am cruising on 2 hours sleep right now, so as soon as I drop ds off at school it is back to bed for me. I will catch up on everything I missed later today. I know it is entertaing cause I skimmed it and I saw beautiful invitiations for lauren's wedding and the mention of magic shell, shrinkage and trout....

Tonight we are going out to eat at 99 as it is ds birthday and that is where he picked to go. we will go with the inlaws and give him gifts there. I can't get over my baby boy being 10 ugh double digits, it is just to much for me, lol.
Tomorrow we are taking him and one of his best friend to a minor league baseball game. Good times!

Time for taking him to school and then zzzzzzzzzz for me. Dh is coming home at noon to catch up on them as well before we go out tonight

Lindsey--really yummy! Thanks for sharing the recipe! Made some cornbread muffins as well--yummo!

sheryl--:rotfl2: :lmao: :rotfl2: Glad he liked it-and allowed you to take a pic!

Tonight will be some sort of pasta. Have another race tomorrow morning, so gonna carbo-load. TGIF all!

Stephanie, I did sneak up on him with the camera. But he did give me his permission to post it! I promise y'all he doesn't do the plate-licking when out in public!!!

We will either have leftover vindaloo or go out to dinner. DH was given some real Norwegian cheese from a business associate from Norway. (The weird looking brown stuff that is on the breakfast buffet at Akershus.) So we should take him out to dinner soon, maybe tonight.

Tonight is a really easy night for us. We are having tomato soup with grilled cream cheese sandwiches. Yummo!!!!

Hi yall!

We got our butt's whipped yesterday! Oh well, there's always next year, we had a great season!

We decided not to hurry back home today so we're going to chill out by the pool and maybe do some shopping later, then we'll head home tomorrow.

Chat with yall tomorrow!

OKWMom I love your reviews.

Tonight we are have baked Tilipia salad and rice.

With all this talk of wine I'm going to have to go out and find Rosa Regale hopefully it's around here to.

If you have a World Marketplace- they have it. They even have the little 2 glass bottles. I used those for stocking stuffers this last Christmas!

That pasta looks good, Sis!

I am not making anything remotely that healthy tonight. DD talked me into fish and chips, and I figured since I was heating up the fryer anyway, I might as well make some onion rings too. ;) I also bought some fresh salad greens today, so we'll have that too.

My Publix didn't have the Rosa Ragale. I'll have to try a bigger store. I was really hoping to get all my shopping done this morning. :headache:

Those turkey burgers sounded so good yesterday that I got everything to make them today. Too bad I ate the entire can of water chestnuts I had in the pantry the other day.:rolleyes1

Your pasta looks really good. Do you have a recipe or just throw everything together?

Wendie, I hope you caught up on some sleep and I wish your DS a very Happy Birthday!!! We do not have a 99 around here but did go to one when my brother lived in Maine...a whole group of us went and had a blast...Enjoy the evening...my DS will be 10 next year. Boy, does the time fly!

OK, now that I got my multi quote thing done, Ill tell you that I am not cooking tonight...we are getting out pics taken for the signature pic at the wedding (if the rain holds out) then either getting take out or grab a bite out.

Tom has already asked if we could have Rosa (see pics below of the first bottle we ever had...along with the chocolate Easter bunny we were able to steal from A :) ...
