No dinner here tonight (Christmas Eve) we had lunch out with family- which is a tradition with us. So we were pretty much set for the day. I had a bruschetta appetizer (only 1 piece though) and French Onion Soup for an entree.

Well I'm up early getting ready. While my hair does a little air-drying I thought I would say hello to my WFD friends :) We have to be at my mom's for breakfast at 8. We are having a big lunch with the rest of the family, too :) Hope you guys have a great day. I don't expect everyone to post every little thing they are having for dinner tonight :) ETA: here is the link to the awesome meatloaf I made the other day. http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_24770,00.html?rsrc=search

ETA: I did a few things different to the meatloaf.
- I never measure out onions and peppers by cups. I just use small ones. I saute them until tender, let them cool, and then add them to the meatloaf mix.

- I didn't use the tomatoes in Paula's recipe. I used a good 4 tablespoons of ketchup instead. I hate pieces of tomato.

- I know the sauce that you put on top sounds nasty, but it totally rocks. I am going to try it on some chicken.

- I made it 2 lbs. instead of one, and I used a lb. of ground beef and a lb. of ground pork. Mmmmmmmmmm boy!!

Just wanted to send Christmas greetings to all my Dis buddies!!!! Have a wonderful day!

Merry Christmas Everyone!

We just got back from the world last night so I am catching up on everybody's previous weeks meals. I cant wait to try the chicken stew! I think that will be tomorrow.

We will go to DD's boyfriends house for dinner tonight so no cooking for me. This has become a Christmas tradition and I love it! I am making Christmas brunch here now though. Just cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs with bacon and sausage.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Morning all.:surfweb: I wanna go back to bed.

Ahhhh, the joys of being married AND having divorced parents: Christmas lasts 3 days :headache: Today we are going to my dad's and spending Christmas with him and my stepmother. We are having (quite happily) grilled hamburgers and hotdogs. My dad makes the best!!

WFD at your house?

leftover prime rib here. There will be no complaints I'm sure!
My husband says he's one his way. :)

ETA: What the heck is the little quotation mark button at the bottom of the post supposed to do? Never mind, I got it :)

Spaghetti bake, zucchini and garlic bread here! Saving leftovers for Thursday night. DS's girlfriend loved everything so much she asked to come back on Thursday.

Catching up: Christmas Eve we went to DH's aunts house--she had ordered Chinese food. Blech, I hate Chinese food. Luckily though, we had gone to my inlaws first so I just ate a lot of my MIL's awesome guacamole.

Christmas dinner: Lobster, shrimp and king crab in a thermidor sauce, twice baked potatoes, spinach-parmesean gratin, and sugar snap peas. There was pecan pie for dessert but we were all too full to eat it.

Tonight: Roast beef with gravy (not for me though!), the crushed potatoes I posted the recipe for here a while back, sauteed mushrooms, butternut squash roasted in honey, and green beans with almonds.

We got back from Disney on the 15th and have had an office party and a brunch since!
Tonight- hot dogs! I'm tired!

Office dinner party-
crudites,cheeseball,dip and chips
olives
pork loins with cherry sauce
croissants
mac and cheese
corn casserole
sugar snap peas
punch
sparkling grape juice
key lime tarts
fudge
English Christmas "crackers"

Brunch for friends
punch
country sausage
bacon
oven potatoes
biscuits
sparkling grape juice

Christmas dinner for the 2 of us-
crudites
Asti Spumante
shrimp cocktail
prime rib
shrimp stuffed potatoes
sugar snap peas
mac and cheese with sausage
Yule log for dessert

Only one more dinner party to go on New Year's Eve Eve (the 30th). All of these are for good friends so any pressure I feel is put on myself by myself (darn that perfectionist streak!).

Leftover turkey, cranberry sauce, mushroom stuffing, candied yams, asparagus, black olives, hot pepper cheese & wine.

I was hoping to do creamy chicken stew but I have a cold and no energy to go to the store so I pulled out a lasagna from the freezer.

My mom and I are both off today so we are going shopping. I need a quick and easy meal, but a yummy one, so I am making the spaghetti and meatball stoup with Parmesan garlic bread sticks. One of my husband's Top 5 faves :)

WFD at your house?

Back to work today for me, after two long weeks.:sad2:

Tonight I'm making 40 clove garlic chicken, rice pilaf and a salad! YUM!

Have a great day everyone.

We're still working on leftovers! Yesterday was leftover lobster, shrimp, mussells, crab, etc. etc. and today we're working on leftover mushroom soup, salads and ham, roast beef, etc. - probably making it into sandwiches, with soup and salads.

Hope everyone had a great holiday. Back to cooking today.

Yesterday,we went to the Italian Market in Philadelphia. We are having porcini mushroom ravioli sauted in butter with sage or basil (whichever I pick up on my way home), sauted zucchini and my husband is having cauliflower.
