Happy Brithday Jenny and Minnie!!

Happy 12th anniversary Sandy!!

Happy Anniversary Sandy!
Thanks Kathy, you are the first and only person to say that to me today. DH likes to ignore our anniversary... and my birthday... and Mother's Day. At least he's consistant. :lmao:

OK, I'm done being Debbie Downer.

ETA: Thanks Wendie!

Good Morning Everyone!

Kathy- Congrats to your DS! He must be so excited and you must be very proud of him and his team. HS athletes work so hard and they play with their hearts.

Happy birthday MinnieM21 and Jenny! Wishing you the most magical day.

Swimnoid_ I am so jealous! I have been "homesick" for Disney and seem to be living it again through everyones visits. You see....I am really with you ;)

Sandy- Happy Anniversary!

Camreesmom- Glad your back! How was your cruise?

Gretchen- Your report is so much fun. I believe that DD IS living the high life! It does not get much better than KK's in a hot tub.

Ugadog- I know that your Dad is going to enjoy his visit. You are blessed to still have him with you. I miss my Dad. He was a chef and as kids Gail and I refused to eat just about anything he cooked, and were even more upset when we did the mountain of dishes he created!

I just finished the Pumpkin Struesle muffins and some oatmeal chocolate chip muffins.
Dinner tonight is a picnic type meal. Hot Dogs and hamburgers, potatoe salad..(I want to make Glynis Ranch), baked beans, sauerkraut, and a marinated chopped salad. Winter lemon cake for dessert if I have time.

I promise I'll post the recipe for the coffee cake after we try it. It's a new one, and it has to pass the taste test before I'll share it with my WFD family! Can you wait till later tonight?

Aren't all men like that?;)

Of course, I won't be doing any baking until maybe next weekend!!

TigerKat or anyone who has done the Asian marinade Tenderloin.....if you have done it on the grill, how long did you grill it? did you wrap it in foil or straight on the grill? I've been wanting to try this recipe forever and am going to finally do it today!!!

TIA!!

ETA: Or if you broil it, how long and do you cover it?

I always use my meat thermometer with a pork tenderloin. You want it to be at 160 internal temp. If you're grilling, put it straight on the grill, about 30 minutes. If you're broiling it, don't cover it - again about 30 minutes. I'm estimating these times as I rely on my thermometer. Hope you enjoy it!!

Hi everyone.. Thanks for the birthday wishes! We has a nice weekend with our friend..He catches his flight in a couple of hours...I just had a buffalo platter from Hooters take out.. I have some leftover steak from the Carne asada and fish taco's we had last night. I think after the fattening lunch I will use it to make a nice salad for dinner.

Happy Birthday to Minnie and Jenny!!!

Sandy, Happy Anniversary to you as well. My husband tends to forget special days too. If it weren't for all the other good things he does, I would need a larger freezer. ;)

I think I'll have to try the eggplant sticks. I'll have to call them something else, though, or the girls won't eat them. Any ideas?? :rotfl:

The first time I served them to my kids, I just called them sticks. Since they look like they might be something fried, they ate them. After they liked them, I told them it was eggplant inside.

It sounds like there's a lot going on today...rather than taking up too much space -- Happy Day, congratulations, enjoyed the posts! :)

Today, unlike most Sundays, we are not visiting DSis and my parents. Liam had a birthday party -- the second of the weekend -- so I am just making pasta, salad and bread. We are all trying to recuperate from an exhausting week.

However, Caili's skating show was great, so the late nights were worth it. She did well and was winking at us during her programs. Her skating team looked better than they ever have. I was very proud of both her and Liam, who was a great sport and sat on hard, cold bleachers for three hours or so without his Game Boy. I am also glad it is over.

Happy Brithday to Jenny and Minnie!

Happy Anniversary Sandy!

Evening, everyone. We just returned from our zoo orientation. It was very informative, but it is a huge committment. I know she'll enjoy it, but I'll spend my time on the road in the next year.

Happy Birthday, Jenny and Minnie.

Happy Anniversary, Sandy.

Melanie

I am also glad it is over.

Yeah, me too!! :rotfl:

Just kidding! Kind of. Seriously, there was once a "For Better or For Worse" comip strip that summed it all up. Michael, Dee, and Robin are all waiting, FOREVER, in the freezing rink, but it's all worth it when Merrie comes out and does her thing, fleeting though it may be.

Anyway, I missed Dsis and the kids at dinner today. Since Liam was not around, we decided to have some shrimp, which I marinated in garlic, lemon, paprika, etc. After it was cooked I peeled them and tossed with a sauce of butter-lemon-garlic-parsely. Plus, we had swordfish, which I did jerk Jamaican style. My Mom made the eggplant sticks, I attempted oven baked sweet potato fries, and also made green beans with almonds. Here is a picture: http://farm1.static.flickr.com/212/487178630_9026401418.jpg

We missed you too. It doesn't seem like Sunday without the usual family linner. Our pasta was good, but I am completely jealous of that swordfish! And, of course, the eggplant sticks!

liamsaunt - as usual that picture looks amazing!!!!! The shrimp and swordfish had me drooling.:goodvibes

liamandcaili - when I first gave eggplant sticks to DS I said the same thing and he loved them, still does!!

Checking in quick...gotta thoroughly read the posts that I missed since I wasn't on the DIS all day...but wanted to say:

Happy Birthday Jenny and Minnie and Happy Anniversary Sandy!!!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1:

Kathy...how exciting about DS's baseball team!!! :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: Yeah!

Gretchen, gotta come back a read your reviews...

Busy day and now Sopranos are coming on...gotta run! Got my wedding invites today...they screwed up some mailing envelopes...will take pics tomorrow...

Ciao for now!

Thank you for the birthday wishes everyone! :) And happy birthday to you Jenny and happy anniversary Sandy! :yay:

For dinner I had cupcakes and ice cream (I'm not really a big fan of ice cream but I LOVE cake batter ice cream) The cupcakes were the best I've ever had. Now that's my idea of an amazing dinner. ;)

TigerKat - thanks so much. This recipe ROCKS!!!!:cool1: The family loved it and is definatly a keeper. We had noodles on the side and corn on the cob and I made extra marinade for the noodles. You were right 30 minutes on the grill and it was perfect.

Wanted to give Glynis's S'more drops a :thumbsup2 Can't stop eating them!!

Glad you like them! They do satisfy the chocolate craving, huh?

liamsaunt-

lori1043- Are you and Kathy sharing recipes? The Queen of Easy in the Big Easy likes to use Easy during the week :rotfl:

I am all about easy! I homeschool 2 kids and work 2-3 days per month and 2-3 weekends per month. Plus my DD's are in activities, etc...Besides that I just don't enjoy being in the kitchen all that much, so if I get an easy recipe and we like it-we wear it out over a year or so then I have to start over with new or older recipes we hadn't done in a while. That Crawfish pasta is an oldie for us-I haven't made it in years! I have been in a starting over stage! DH and I have always had an understanding that whoever cooks the other one cleans-AND I'd rather cook than clean!
