This doesn’t change the fact that VDH is a very studio and duo heavy resort. It’s going to be much harder to get villas than at VGC. Not impossible, but more difficult if not booking at 11m depending on number of nights & flexibility.

We got 2 studios and waitlisted a 1bd right at 11m for this upcoming Jan 1-5 and it never came through…..

Downside to WL in CA is the way they classify rooms. You should be able to say give me any 1 bed that becomes available.

I will be very interested to see how availability changes, but the studio-heaviness could be a problem at times. Great for short trips with few people but more 1 br and 2 br would be nice too.

I have access to 150 VDH points.

I slept on the murphy for two trips to Boulder Ridge and found it to be comfortable. (Though the second trip, it was already getting a bit too soft from use, I think.) I actually found it to be MORE comfortable than the regular bed in the studio during that first trip. I'll be curious to see how I feel about the murphys on the west coast. I assume they have the same mattresses but maybe not.

Nice! The Gray one would be a must have for me! As well as the pins! We go in feb. so maybe????? We also go to WDW next week if the planes are flying so will check for them there as well.

Booked my actual first VDH trip today! Eek! I don't know for sure if we'll end up taking that trip or defer until later and bank those points instead, but I am excited!

We Really enjoyed our first trip to VDH. We used to take the family to DLR and stay in the DLH. That was before Down Town Disney! So getting back to VDH as a real trip down memory lane. It is a hike to the parks and back, especially at the end of the day. When we were there the monorail was not running so ankle express was the only mode of transportation.

We stayed in a one bedroom. Theming was great. Views are really hit or miss. We overlooked the convention center and the pool, but could see all the way to the mountains. Other views can be pretty industrial.

Another issue with renting, I put in my room request and people going already and now ive decided I wanted to request the Sleeping Beauty room after all since the 1 bedroom is Tiana and cant without paying $50

yes. Haven't closed (I requested the longest close they could offer), but I'm well past my 10 day rescission period now! No regrets. I almost bought at Polynesian direct, but VDH was a better fit for a few reasons (1 of which can't be discussed for board diplomacy reasons; the other reason is that I like California and want to go there sometimes and I didn't see that happening with my current membership).

Honestly practically thinking of adding another 25 more points at the lower cost, but I worry about having too many points as much as I worry about having too few. So maybe I'll just enjoy the membership for now and see how it goes. I could see adding another 50 points down the road but I'm not sure we'll need it. I sort of would like these at Polynesian, but Florida is on my ban list at the moment (I'm still visiting WDW, but I am not sure I'm buying more property in the state).

I LOVED the one bedroom VDH when I toured it, I def would like it as an option here and there! Daresay i also want to try CFW now, I want to do a nature trip with SSR treehouse, CFW and LSL when that comes out, im very into themeing

My goal is to add direct next year and be at 710 points. Then within the next two years pick up another 250 SSR and be at 960 and buy 40 pts direct to top it off and claim comma status

At that point, I would welcome any incentives people with more points (Although im sure they'd have to be direct only to be rewarded!)

I’m giggling a bit reading that. Leave some fun in the random luck of odd or even floor theme. Tiana is actually a good one too. Family art on one wall & nice colors in that theming.
