The Official VILLAS at DISNEYLAND HOTEL (Discovery Tower) Owners and Fans Info Thread

I am so excited the rental store secured me my Disneyland hotel 1 bedroom preferred reservation!

Any room requests I should make for this room? 🥳🎉🎊 Thank you so much to @UrsulaWantsYourSoul , without your guidance I wouldn't have known what to tell them to get the ball rolling and i would have gave up on a 1 bedroom, i am so greatful to you ♥️
Yay, Disneyland trip! 🏰😍

Unless it has recently been cancelled, they occasionally have a DJ at the Palm Breeze Bar. It isn't loud enough that it should disturb you in the tower rooms, but my guess is you'd hear the DJ music in the garden rooms.

I'm a local and the DJ has been there in the evenings when we've gone, but it has been hit or miss. I'll try to make a point to go for drinks there sometime in the next couple weeks.

If loud music bothers you, I would definitely avoid the Tomorrowland dance parties in the evening as well. There is a Stitch themed party returning on May 23rd.

Thankfully, loud music, in general, doesn't bother me. It's just when I'm in a building or somewhere else and the only thing I hear is the bass. Something about that sound drives me absolutely nuts.

Have people just used the generic 1150 Magic Way address, then specifying the Villas at Disneyland Hotel for deliveries?

For WDW we usually do something like:
Resort Name
Resort Address
Attn: Us

Does that work at DLR as well?

Just finished up a stay at the Villas May 1st to May 5th in a Duo Studio preferred. First time staying in a duo studio. I felt it was a little too small for a stay more than a night or two. We purchased that giant mouse droid and multiple lightsabers, that along with our luggage (which was not light in QTY) made it almost difficult to maneuver around. We also missed the sink and dedicated little kitchenette that is in the deluxe studio. We really missed the regular bed. Points were saved staying in a duo for this trip, but considering we do not pack light, future stays for us will be in Deluxe Studios. Still had a great time. Looking forward to my next trip in July!

Couple of nights into our stay so far in a 2 bedroom and I can say there is a definite lack of storage space compared to the DVC resorts at WDW we’ve stayed at.
As someone who loves lots of storage and struggles to pack light we love rooms with a lot of extra places to put things so we can move in. Just got back from a long trip to WDW in which we ended our stay in a OKW 2BR. Just a monster when it comes to storage and the 4 of us felt like we could live in that room for a while. With that said, VDH does pack a lot into it's footprint for the larger rooms. A few thoughts....

Would we rather have more storage space and closet and get rid of the 3rd bathroom in the villas. With only 4 or 5 in a 2BR two bathrooms is no problem but if I had 8 or 9 humans in one I'd give the nod to the extra toilet and shower.

Now that I think about it, I could have perhaps had a slightly less fancy bathroom off the master and instead have a bit more closet storage.

I did go back and look at our photos of our 2BR stay in 2024 and I think we had to make good use of the closet in the entry hall too.

Yes, a wardrobe only room as opposed to actual closets is not great for longer stays.
I've gotten very creative with packing extra duffel bags and using them for extra storage. At VDH the top of those wardrobes are made to be useful as extra spots to park a duffel or two to expand and unpack....

VGC has 3 bathrooms and a closet in a 2BD . So does Aulani.

I love the bathrooms. Wouldn't give them up for a closet

They were working with limited space for VDH, they shoved that tower in the little space they had to use

Polynesian tower will have the same storage options as our VDH. Interiors are not so distant cousins of each other. After just spending a few nights in their Duo, much more room space. Didn’t feel at all like we needed to raise the bed just to move around.

Personally I think the duos at VDH and Poly tower, and the tower studios at RIV, are best for short solo stays only. I pack light so storage isn’t an issue but I need the empty space around me 🤣

Edited to add it will be interesting in Aug. I could only get a duo for a last min bday trip for a couple of nights. Then later in the month I will have a a stay in a one-bedroom all by myself. Let’s hope it doesn’t mean I will need one-bedrooms there from now on 🤣
